We started using Mr Yiks again about 6 months ago. The food is beautiful, always fresh and piping hot. There's usually 4 of us so we get a different selection each time we order, and not one complaint from any of us! The two young men front of house, taking orders and answering the phones, are always polite and smiling!

In my 64 years I have been to many Chinese restaurants and Chinese takeaways - including in China! This was one of the best. We called en spec on our way home one Friday evening. The food was excellent, particularly the honey roast pork. We had plenty left for a take home for the next day. We will try the set menu next time. Also the background music was very much to our taste, 1970s mix!

This is the best Chinese takeaway in York, always on time and food always fresh and hot, lovely delivery drivers! Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Prawn crackers delicious , starters of sesame prawn toast and spring rolls delicious, main course of sweet and sour pork Hong Kong style, chicken and pineapple with egg fried rice and salt and pepper chips absolutely amazing, will definitely recommend and return

Absolutely disgusting meal. Ordered beef chow mein. Meat did not look or taste fresh. The Dish was tasteless, Very wet and slimy. I couldn't eat it. Will not be ordering from them again

Ordered food for delivery to Haven, chased multiple times (probably 6 times over 2 hours) and never turned up. Just kept giving excuse after excuse and saying would be a little longer.

I was a kid when this take away opened in 1969 and the food from day one has always been first class. My wife is Asian and very particular about her food and is bowled over by the quality of the food that Hong Kong take away serve.

Excellent value for money! Gluten free options (quite a few of them). So well priced compared to every other Chinese in the area. Salt and pepper chips were full of flavour. Gluten free chicken was so crispy!

We ordered a takeaway of salt & Pepper chilli beef and this is what we got which cost £7.50 a portion. As you can see there were no sign of any beef. It tasted like cold scraps... the spare ribs tasted nice but there were still cold..... all in all the meal cost over £30 for basically what could of been described as cold scrapes, very disappointing. I wouldn't even feed my dogs them 🤮

Delicious food and attentive service. This restaurant is a gem that should be more busy. Worth a visit.

What a change from the previous nights experience of food in Whitby , the lady who served us was absolutely lovely she said they were busy but still managed to get our meals ready in the time she stated. Food was appetising, excellent quality and very tasty.

THE BEST CHINESE IN SCARBOROUGH!!!! ALWAYS order from here, whether delivery or collection, foods always piping hot and delicious. I'm a regular customer and never ever had a problem!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
