Delicious food, no waiting to collect, friendly service, complimentary prawn crackers and situated in a quaint village. Excellent value for money too. Cannot fault, highly recommend!

My partner and I are always happy when we get a takeaway from Kings Garden. Great food, some really good veggie options, our go-to chinese.

Our last l takeaway was really bad but thought we would give it another try as this last year food has been decent. But it’s a no no no! Chicken chow mein had 3 slithers of chicken, dry no flavour. Hard to swallow! The curry sauce too sweet inedible. They are cutting costs which is totally obvious. Will never get food from here again. Would give a zero if I could!

This is always our go to Chinese take away after having tried all the available options in East Grinstead. The food is always really delicious and delivered quickly. Our only criticism on this occasion and a couple of other times we have noticed the prawn crackers taste quite strongly of dirty cooking oil and this time they were really inedible.

V I L E . Do not order from New Evergreen!!! How can they send out such cr@p to paying customers? It’s unbelievable!! We got a leaflet from New Evergreen through our door last week (Aug 24,) so ordered a few Dim Sum dumplings tonight. Threw most of it in the bin.! Dumplings were thick in stodgy, grey looking sticky errrrr, just stodge , Crispy prawn won ton parcels, not one prawn in sight, they were just flattened pieces of folded up greasy batter. ! I should have got the ITSU Chinese range from Sainsbury’s & cooked it myself, atleast it’s real Chinese food.. We will never order from here again, shame because no other Chinese in East Grinstead does Dim Sum.

Have reviewed before on a NYE and felt needed to be fair and balance out our experience as we regularly have takeaways from here and occasionally have an eat in. The food is always excellent and piping hot. We’ve moved to Cuckfield and tried a couple of HH places and they are not a patch for flavour and quality so we will make the extra journey and keep support long Mei Xin Hins

Don’t bother ! Years ago this takeaway used to be the best in town, since the 70’s it’s changed chefs/management various times and you’d expect a little variation but this evening’s takeaway was awfully bland, poor quality and we were given the wrong dish, despite the girl repeating our order at the counter. The Sweet & Sour Prawn Balls we ordered turned out to be tough dry Pork Balls at home, we couldn’t eat them they were so dry and tough (see pic). The Special fried rice had nothing special about it. It was dry, flavourless and uninspiring with tiny chopped bits of meat, egg and peas. (See pic) The House Chow Mein used to have slices of Char Siu, beef, jumbo prawns and chicken bursting with vibrant flavours with spring onion and garlic BUT not anymore, the noodles tasted like they’d been stored in an old plastic container as the dish had that tainted flavour. The Chicken Satay was clearly factory produced and brought in, it was stringy breast moulded into shape densely coated with the sauce. It really wasn’t nice at all. I gave them 1 star because my son was able to eat the free prawn crackers, not bad for £25.70, never again. Tasted so bland, we left 90% of it !!

After trying a few Chinese takeaways in the area and being disappointed , we have finally found one we will be using regularly. This for me is by far the best in the area . The food we ordered was very nice , not greasy and you could taste the difference between each dish . You also get a friendly welcome when you arrive. Thanks Tim Ley , see you again soon .
