Tim Ley in Mid Sussex

After trying a few Chinese takeaways in the area and being disappointed , we have finally found one we will be using regularly. This for me is by far the best in the area . The food we ordered was very nice , not greasy and you could taste the difference between each dish . You also get a friendly welcome when you arrive. Thanks Tim Ley , see you again soon .

Always have a great takeaway from Tim Ley. Crispy duck wraps are delicious. Delivery service is excellent and quick!! Staff friendly on the telephone when placing an order. Highly recommended. Wouldn't go anywhere else for great Chinese food in East Grinstead.

always use tim ley safe are always amazing and food is brilliant too. its the only Chinese i will go to best in my opinion never had a problem with them and been getting our food from here for years now

This must be the worst chinese restaurant in the world the won ton soup was made with beef stock and tasted awful having lived in Hong Kong and China I find this insulting, the spring rolls have no filling and overall I would not recommend this place to anyone

I’ve had takeaway here twice because my friend recommended it. I do remember the first time I was disappointed but this second time I ordered Thai red curry and rice, a dish I’m very familiar with, I also had a boiled rice and ‘just noodles’, was a bit surprised this cost over £17 for a takeaway with me picking it up, Well actually the ‘Thai red curry’ was actually quite tasty, but in 100% no way was it anywhere near a Thai red curry. To start with, it didn’t look red in colour, it was 100% beige. It had cooked tomatoes, mushrooms and aubergine in it (not red curry ingredients). The chicken had that Chinese glutenous thing, unlike the freshly fried Thai chicken. Quite simply, in no way whatsoever did it represent Thai red curry- never again 100% !!

Got to be 1 of worst chinese takeaway I have eaten, bland & chicken enedible chucked the lot in the bin obviously needs more competition in the area.

This is the go to for East Grinstead! Constantly good food and have ordered many times. Portions are great and much better than others in the area

Had no vegetarian section, I ordered a vegetable chow mein, had hardly any veg in it. A few bits of veg on top of container and then just noodles.

Ordered from this restaurant and forgot to put my review after we tried to eat it but unfortunately it was inedible it was that bad. Very greasy kind of lukewarm and the crispy aromatic duck was just fat there was no meat at all. Very disappointed so if you want a decent Chinese don’t get it from here.

People had recommended this takeaway so decided to try it as our favourite had closed down. Really disappointed, food was cold, gloopy, items missing from order, wrong items given. Never before have we not cleared our plates, until now. It was truly inedible- threw leftovers away rather than saving for following day. Never again.

VERY difficult to get through on the phone. Wish they would be like other local takeaways and sign up to an online ordering app or site. That puts me off.

Thought we would try this take away . Wish now we had stuck with our normal Chinese as the food was a gloopy mess. The noodles felt like they had been cooked several times . What was supposed to be a Black bean sauce was a gloopy mess . Sorry to say I can’t recommend this nor would I use it again.

Since moving here 4 years ago we regularly ordered Chinese delivery from a competitor. We had once had tried Tim Ley several years ago but did not match up to place we were using at that time. However, as from February 2020 we have ordered from Tim Ley, and what an improvement. Everything is fresh and quality very good. I am writing this review in hoping that they read this and maintain the high standards going forward. Definitely worth finding out for yourself.

Since moving here we have tried different Chinese takeaways but this was the best. Tasty with good portions. No idea why some are giving bad reviews, I don't buy tasteless food. I know another Chinese takeaway in the area only give half portions. Would recommend.

Im assuming tgere has been a change of ownership in yhe last year. Had a simple special fried rice. Got home Was white dull boring tasteless And an absolute waste of time. Never go there again.

Guys don’t wast your time buying food from them , today we had a horrible food . Guess what’s happening ? all food come different and cold I’m very disappointed I will make now a egg for my dinner. after work all day and decided to treat myself and my fiancé with a takeaway horrible decision

We have been searching for a good quality Chinese in our neighbourhood for awhile now. Finally, I think we’ve found it! The food arrived earlier than expected and was excellent quality. We will definitely order again!

I don't often leave reviews, but the food I ordered tasted great, portion sizes were good, was exactly what I was craving, and was delivered as hot as you like and earlier than predicted.

Yet again another delicious meal delivered hot and earlier than delivery time stated. My favourite Chinese takeaway. Will definitely be ordering from here in future

Always use this restaurant and they never fail, the food is always lovely and generous portions they also do the best satay sauce around! Always cater to what you want as I ask for no bean sprouts and every time they don’t add them. Best Chinese around. 

I’ve tried most of the Chinese restaurants since I moved to the area and hadn’t a favourite till I found here. Always so fresh and cooked to perfection. Great flavours, never greasy and the king prawns are huge. Has been the same standard each time I’ve ordered. Definitely the best Chinese in town

Very poor service from this place on two occasions. First time was 2 hour delivery wait despite being told the food was on its way after we called up after waiting for one hour. On calling after 1hr30 minutes we asked for a refund as we had payed by card, that was refused as was told the driver was outside (He wasn't) food then arrived after 2hrs... at this point I phoned again, was insured I would get 50% off next order.

This is the first time we’ve used this takeaway and we won’t use it again. We ordered 24 pounds worth of food and nobody has really touched it. The rice and noodles are so starchy we wasn’t able to eat more than a mouthful. The crispy seaweed is soft and tasteless. The chicken balls chewy, the sweet and sour sauce was totally solid. We’re very disappointed, I’m a single parent with a newborn and wanted to treat the kids to a takeaway and now I’m making beans on toast as they haven’t touched anything other than the chips on their plate.

We have used this Chinese for the last 15 years and always had good food in the past but the last 2 times the food has been awful. The chow mien and rice were so starchy it was like eating glue and the sweet and sour sauce was so thick I couldn’t even pour it. I don’t know if the staff or chefs have changed but it has definately gone down hill. I ended up having to throw £25 worth of food straight in the bin. Will now be looking for a different Chinese to use.

Always being my best takeaway food for my family! Best service! Love their aromatic duck and crispy beef! Must order dishes!

Great restaurant, they get tasty Chinese food out quick and fast with prompt service. Recommend the Singapore noodles and crispy duck.

We have always used this Chinese ever since we moved into town 4 years ago but never again we could not eat any of it. Whether it was under different ownership etc but it will not get our custom again.

Standard chinese fayre but if you order a dish with a chilli sauce you hope it might be spicy, sadly...

Food is standard but delivery time absolutely awful. Don't order if you're very hungry, we waited a hour and a half. Disappointing

Good choice, fast and efficient, portions are a good size too, an extensive menu catering to all tastes

La Chow mein de pato - piezas grandes de super duro pato seco. +Pimienta calamares - Sal difícil, recocido calamares secos, super salados, incomible. la comida o pollo pollo mein arroz frito - piezas de forma anómala duras, galletas insípidas que parecían pollo. I wouldn't have any other Chinese take away in East Grinstead, this is the best and it gets my business all the time!

This takeaway cooks excellent Chinese food, and gives very generous portions. If you spend £10 or more they give you free prawn crackers. When you phone up to order they store your number and recognise repeat customers giving you a nice greeting, and are always friendly. We are always pleased with whatever food we try and there is a wide choice to choose from on the menu.

Local Chinese restaurant in the London Road - always quick service and decent selection of dishes, well priced and good quality. Takeaway only.

Excellent take away Chinese food. Have had food from here many times, the Singapore noodles and spring rolls are the best around.

We have used Tim Ley in the past but this is my first review. The have a good selection on the menu. Once ordered they said delivery 45 minutes but it turned up after 30 which was a pleasant surprise. The mushroom chow mein is lovely.
