The Jade Garden in Mid Sussex

This is always our go to Chinese take away after having tried all the available options in East Grinstead. The food is always really delicious and delivered quickly. Our only criticism on this occasion and a couple of other times we have noticed the prawn crackers taste quite strongly of dirty cooking oil and this time they were really inedible.

I always get my Chinese food delivered from Jade, it's the BEST in East Grinstead by far!! So very, very tasty, full of flavour, and delivered quickly and hot by friendly staff. Once, I went in to Jade when I passed the restaurant, and ordered my food, and the staff were so funny and friendly and helpful. And food really fabulous. Keep it up Jade. Love your food, very authentic, and tasty!! Worth more than 5*! :-)))))

Worst meal I have ever had delivered. First time I had placed an order with New Jade Garden and definitely the last. every item ordered was awful, dry, tasteless and nothing was fresh.

Excellent delivery service and website let down by the food. Generous portions but food either tasteless or overspiced. Prawns with ginger had no ginger. Chicken with cashew nuts had more onion than cashew nuts

First time trying. We ordered an hour and a half in advance, arrived half an hour later than it was supposed too. When called they just said it’s out for delivery but could not give a time. The curry sauce had absolutely no flavour and had a nasty after taste so ruined the rest of the food.

Food was passable, but a lot of it lacked flavour. Prawn crackers in particular were very bland, as was the prawn toast and the crispy seaweed tasted a little off too. Mushroom chow mein was very nice though. However, will be going back to ordering from my usual place in the future.

Food was incredibly tasty and good value the service and atmosphere was outstanding. Super kind and funny

Food has no taste I was very disappointed with delivery time 1 half hours and the restaurant is 3 minutes away in car plus food was cold . Avoid this restaurant

Hugely disappointed with my food. I got a set meal, £30, it's like every dish had been anglicised, no spice, no flavour. Hugely disappointing and waste of money. Beef and mushroom like the inside of a pie, chicken and pineapple flavourless, the beansprouts the same. As I said hugely disappointing, 2 stars because everything at least arrived hot. I won't be ordering from here again.

We ordered and received the Chinese within 20 mins. The portions were a good size and extremely tasty. We would recommend the Crispy Shredded Beef, Lemon Chicked, Kung Pow Chicken and the Vermencheli Noodles. Will 100% be returning and recommending to friends and family I'm the area! The only reason for marking down is that when ordering it was very rushed and ended up with extra items. The Spring rolls were very good but will ask the guy yo slow down just a tad when reading our order back :) Thank you for a great meal and will prder again in the very near future.

Fairly standard chineese. Foods not bad (without being exceptional) reasonably priced. Quick turn around. All in all a solid chineese takeaway.

My husband loves Chinese food , but I can take it or leave it. Recently while on a very strict diet my husband said do you mind if I order a Chinese? I couldn’t resist a taste and omg the best Chinese meal I have ever tasted!! Suffice to say, the diet went out of the window and I helped him demolish the lot! Can’t wait to have it again! Can’t comment on delivery as collected, but certainly would recommend!!

Had delivery to Forest Row. Were on time and all dishes were hot. Great vegatarian bean curd (tofu) dishes. Also prawn dishes were loverly. Would recommend.

Sure, the decor is hardly the Sistene Chapel, but the main thing is- does it taste good? For me, absolutely- I've tried a variety of things and have always found it to be full of flavour and good portions. Particularly like the Kung Po chicken and the deep fried tofu with cashew nuts in yellow bean sauce. Whenever we ring up it's never that long for collection (can't comment on delivery), and it's always served with a smile. What more could you want from your local Chinese takeaway?

Had a take away delivery for 5 people. Food was good, although it was missing an item. However, hats off to them as they delivered the item within 10 minutes. Would eat here again.

Really disappointed. Ordered for 6.30pm today, arrived half an hour early . If I'd wanted to eat at 6 I would have ordered for 6! Crispy Aromatic duck, was not at all Crispy, not cooked enough and very fatty. Rest of meal not that great either but the duck was what I'd fancied tonight and it was quite unpleasant. Definately not worth the money. Unlikely to be ordering from here again

I ordered a delivery tonight… having accidentally walked in to the Jade a couple of days ago to collect for a neighbour… !!! Wrong door! Lovely man gave me a menu!…obliged to order next time out of curtesy… Well… our dinner tonight…”curtesy” executed!. Freshly deliciously cooked Vegetables… rice, satay chicken “yum”, crisp vegetable spring rolls… Singapore noodles… The Jade has Won a new customer. :-).

Extremely pricey, and extra £5 added in charges. Good was mediocre.

DISGUSTING behaviour from their delivery driver, he just walked in through my front door into my house, even though i had a sign on my door to call as i have an extremely poorly dog i have called this into the restaurant and the response was awful and completely unhelpful and not intersted I WILL NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE AGAIN!

Sorry but was so hot couldn't eat it both our meals really unpleasant ! And took 1 and 20 mins to arrive.

The new jade has really let it self down by serving food which its very salty chow mien When it was delivered both my wife and I said the food was really awful it was really salty and very greasy tried to email them only to be told that company that manages them can’t take complaints. Never will i use again.

Never had food from here before but tried tonight and we were not disappointed. It was delivered on time and absolutely delicious. I never order Chinese as I have a nut allergy and have to be very careful but after speaking to staff on the phone, I was very confident when they answered all my questions and was happy to order. We will definitely order again very soon

Late, greasy and dangerously cold,

Ordered the set meal for 3 on Friday and it was delicious. Hot, fresh tasting and plenty too go round. My only two critical points are, the menu is out of day (as someone has already mentioned) so the difference was about £4:50 and also there is a delivery charge which I never understand why this is added. Please update your menu/website.

Really delicious food and very nice gentleman at counter. I've been here a few times, now, as my regular place was closed due to the virus. I've tried quite a few dishes over the past couple of months and the food has never been less than first-rate!! Keep up the good work!! Just ordered the House Special Chow Mein. It's a really big container and full of noodles with big pieces of beef, chicken, prawns, vegetables - fantastic !!

How can a place go from great to awful so quickly is it a new chef a bad month or just we got lucky the first time.. This is the second disappointment in a row.. Let me assure anyone reading this if you are in Crawley area and travelling home to east Grinstead go to golden city west green.. Hands down beats any east grinstead Chinese. Failing that go to Wing wah at least you know its a solid 7 out of 10.. Will not risk a third disappointment from jade garden sorry..

We've used the Jade garden over many years, but not recently, and have always been satisfied with the quality, however tonight we ordered a meal, it was ready for collection within 10 mins, which was great, but oh how disappointing, the quality was very poor, chicken was tasteless, slimy and looked steamed not stir fried, sauce was thin, anemic and tasteless, the shrimp Chowmein lacked shrimps and flavour. Sorry New Jade Garden you've lost a customer.

My partner and I have used and been very happy with the service until tonight. I don’t normally do reviews but I am so angry with the service of them where shall I begin. I called them earlier to place the order but I had to go by the menu and prices online of which is 2 years out of date and I asked for a set meal that I thought they still did for 2 but was told extremely rudely they do not do it any more. I then placed the rest of my order and was told 1hour 30 mins. We were absolutely fine with that. I am a carer for my partner who is disabled so it gave me plenty of time to make sure he was comfortable for dinner. After 45 mins I had a very rude and abrupt man at our door telling me I should of answered it quicker, sorry but I am absolutely disgusted by the rudeness of the delivery driver telling me to hurry up and the lady on the phone having a go at me about a mistake they have made them selves. I won’t be using them Again

Been here a few times now and every time the food has been to a really high standard, and really lovely. The staff are really friendly too. The place doesn’t look too great, but the food is brilliant.

After getting bored with the same old usual once a month, me and the mrs decided to try somewhere new.. chinese is not a cheap takeaway plus im pretty fussy, so i always have a little look at reviews.. this looked ok and so we gave it a go.. so pleased we did!! The garlic chillie duck in black been was top notch (came recommended by woman on phone, great shout), singapore noodles i always ask for extra spicy and they were bang on (previous review said greasy but i didnt find that at all,just right! who wants dry noodles?), special fried rice, admitedly a little compressed but plenty of meat and prawns in there, (prawns a little pale looking"pale not raw", but over 24hrs after and no issues), and crispy shredded chillie chicken again better than the chillie beef at ww the chicken balls were propper batter not the thin coating that ww does,(maybe a tiny bit too thick) but massive bits of chicken breast so all forgiven.. all in all a lucky find.. highly recommend.. dont get me wrong ww still good standard, but jade garden definitly my new go to chinese for eg..p.s. forgot to ask prawn crackers but came free, and were fresh and pure white.. not yellow and stale like u get sometimes.. anyway to conclude so good i had another singapore noodles extra spicy again tonight and once again spot on... only critasism is the decor could do with a lick of paint.. but decor doesnt add taste so who cares!

Absolutely shocking! First time ordered from here and the last! Told 1hr wait which is fine. 1h20 mind nothing called up apparently it’s going to be another 20 mins. Told them we wasn’t happy and heard them say in the background tell them to cancel it then. Yeah nice one we paid by card. Said they would send some coke as a gesture. Driver turns up 20mins later with food no cokes. #avoid at all cost as food wasn’t that great either. Far better Chineses in East Grinstead.

We.found out that the.on line menu is.out.of date we.got charge 9 pound more than with it should be. Not. Very good as the.onew London menu is.2016 2.years out of date

Great food quick service great delivery just what we need when working a night shift

Good little Chinese, but forgot to put my sweet and sour sauce in the order for sweet and sour chicken balls, had to return and collect it.

The service was good and delivery was quick. The attendant said under 45 minutes and we got our food in 30 minutes. However, I had a problem with their website and couldn't view their menu online so I had to order blind.

Worst Chinese I've ever eaten! Ordered from here yesterday, we spent £40 and most of it went straight in the bin. Duck pancakes were ok, but that's where it ends. Not enough hoi sin for the duck. Prawn crackers were stale and mostly inedible. Singapore noodles were greasy and bland. Pork balls felt like they were left over from 3 days prior, then boiled to remove all the flavour before coated in whipped batter, very odd, chewy, bland and inedible. The ribs were a horrible cheap cut with broken fragments of bones and gristle throughout. Again totally inedible. Beef in oyster sauce again was so inedible, full of veg which I normally love, but the mushrooms tasted very "canned" and a very preseverative taste throughout. Just had a couple of bites before I had to chuck the rest. It was so disappointing. It had a decent star rating and was looking forward to an indulgent Chinese. But instead, just felt ill after. I think even a weight watchers ready meal would have been more enjoyable.

We hadn't tried this chinese takeaway before but were very pleased with our order; the food was piping hot and; plenty of it - very good value too. Highly recommended

La primera vez que he utilizado este para llevar. Tenía una entrega a más de 3 millas y me cobraron 2 libras, y sólo a la escala de tiempo indicado (y en el tráfico a la hora pico). La comida estaba caliente, no hay necesidad de calentar y era de primera clase y calidad a un precio razonable. De 7 diversos para llevar en la ciudad, está considerada como el mejor.

Had my 1st takeaway from here on Monday. The food was nice and hot and the portions were big. Could easily get 2meals out of 1. Will definetly be using this takeaway again.

There deliver the wrong thing twice I am pregnant they deliver rice with egg in it I said plain boiled rice !!

Service good, food terrible, order was wrong, Chicken and Pork as tough as old boots, sauce very poor, everything just tasted of salt, I have never eaten a meal where every mouthful just tasted of salt, the only exception was the rice which was ok, we were offered a replacement meal when we complained but we declined this offer, I have had far better from the ready meal section in Waitrose, on the whole very disappointed as we have been using this take away for ten years and it has always been great before, it would appear to be under new management/owners which could explain the sudden change in the style of cooking.

We have just finished eating our Chinese food order, which was delivered very quickly and well within the time stated, and I can honestly say that this was the tastiest Chinese meal that I have ever eaten...... I felt that I had to phone them up after we had eaten our meal, just to let them know that we will definitely be ordering from them again, as it was quite simply delicious. Also the food arrived nice and hot and did not need reheating, as the delivery driver brought it inside a thermal delivery bag. Thank you for a fantastic eating experience, and a very well deserved 10/10 :-)

This used to be a phone and order take away, but recently they introduced delivery (not tried yet). Its next to 2 other Chinese restaurants, so not sure if they are connected or not. Usual range of food, friendly staff and fast service. Never had a bad meal from here. I would suggest avoiding the chicken balls though, more batter than meat.

The food itself is adequate butI just wish they would tell the truth about timescales for providing food.

Lovely lady usually at the desk. Really good food although occasionally you can tell that another chef is running the kitchen and this is to the detriment of the taste of the food

This is our favorite restaurant for Chinese food - the service is excellent and the food always delicious and freshly cooked. Waiting a bit at busy times shows how popular the restaurant is. It is takeaway only.

I like the food in this shop, especially, the crispy beef is delicious, it just so crispy and tasty......... I can't wait for our next visit. Also, they have very good value of money, the rice and noodles are very big portion, the chicken balls are huge. I think this is the best Chinese food in the town.

You can't get better Chinese food in the area. The only down side is you sometimes have a bit of a wait because its so popular.

I love their food. In fact I'm going there right now!
