The best restaurants serving Chinese food in North West

Absolutely fantastic! Gonbay in Altrincham serves some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. The flavours are authentic, and every dish is cooked to perfection. The service is top-notch — friendly, attentive, and efficient. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a meal with family or friends. The crispy duck and salt and pepper chicken are must-tries! Highly recommend this place — easily the best Chinese restaurant in the area. Can’t wait to visit again!

Este es sin duda el mejor restaurante chino en Liverpool. Está un poco lejos del centro de la ciudad, pero bien vale la pena el viaje. Cuentan con un extenso menú a la carta y un almuerzo a precio fijo competitivo en la semana. Los entrantes en esto no son las costillas habituales 'run of the mill' y tostadas de gambas de sésamo y fueron una agradable sorpresa. El personal es amable y servicial y las bebidas no son un precio desorbitado. Tengo que mencionar las vistas al río también - el restaurante tiene vistas fabulosas a través del Mersey. ¡Una joya escondida que vale la pena visitar!

The service is a little slow, but if you are not in a hurry it is well worth it. Food was amazing, staff were kind and helpful. And the time it took to serve the food tells me it’s freshly cooked. I highly recommend.

Saturday night, so was packed to the rafters! They still managed to squeeze us in without a reservation! Food was great and portions were spot on. Beer at £6 at pint felt a bit pricey but other than that we had a lovely time and will go again.

Really good Chinese buffet! Good family feel to it and not expensive either. Family run and nothing is too much trouble. 👍

Having made a booking we were dealt with very well on our arrival. We were made very welcome and the service and food were excellent. Good experience for anyone to sample. Been there several times now and will visit again soon. After a few months, not being able to get to the Jade Buddha for many personal reasons, we went today and enjoyed the same experiences we'd had on previous occasions and the good news was that the pricing had not increased. Not many restaurants can boast about that.

First time we’ve been here in eighteen months. It’s so sad, the food here is incredible. A really good Chinese. But the service is pitiful at best. We got home with our takeout (a twenty minute drive) to find one of our main dishes missing. This is why we’ve not been for a while because missing dishes was becoming a regular occurrence. Spoke to the manager and there was no concept of the inconvenience or offer of recompense. If you order a takeaway you wait an age after the time you’re told because the kitchen can’t cope. And then some of the order is generally missing. If you eat in the restaurant you wait an age because take-away orders take priority.

The new owners of this shop have killed one of the best Chineses in the UK. I used to travel here from higher Penwortham regularly which is massively out of the way for a Chinese and sometimes wait for a hour for the food to be ready as it really was worth the wait, however around 3 years ago I had a really bad experience and the food got thrown in the bin. I suspected the chef was either off work or something had happened but regardless it put me off going back until today. Today I took the risk in the hope that everything was back to normal but I wish I read the reviews previous to ordering. What a massive let down! Probably the worst Chinese food I have eaten. This shop used to have a que of people overflowing onto the street every night and you would have to sit trying the phone for 10 minutes before you could get through. I called and got straight through and my food was ready in 10 minutes and arrival I was the only person in the shop, that sounds great but there is a reason behind it and that’s because the food is now awful.

Two bad experiences in a row. Our last takeaway order we actually received was really disappointing. Instead of roast pork or char siu, the "pork" was Spam... Then we thought we'd try again tonight, and they rejected our order online.

Disappointing customer service! We ordered on the app, the estimated delivery time was over an hour away (6:05pm). We were out but decided instead of waiting an hour once we got home with our toddler who enjoys noodles, we would order as we would be home in 20 minutes (arrived home at 5:30pm in plenty of time for the estimated delivery time). Got home to a missed call and voicemail to say they had left as we weren't in. Watched our ring camera, the driver arrived at 5:10pm!! Called the driver and the restaurant and both didn't give a damn and said that we were lying about the wait time! Refused to refund. They could have at least delivered close to the time on the app! Not 55 minutes earlier! Terrible customer service and I think they need to keep an eye on their delivery times! We will not be ordering with them again! We were a regular customer as the food was good however, i think they have changed owners as it can be very hit and miss now a days anyway. The food can be cold or overdone.
