Worst Chinese I’ve ever eaten all went in the bin came in a soggy wet box all the sauce had spilt all over everything. Do not order

Visited with 5 friends last night and had a great experience as usual. Everyone is always so friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is lovely and the portion sizes are very generous. I had the crispy duck and then sizzling chicken satay and both were gorgeous.

Food was ok but delivered late without explanation or apology. I ordered early and it was only 4 items so cannot understand the delay. Will not order from here again.

Had three meals delivered. There was no flavour to any one of them except the chicken fried rice. The duck was cut in big chunks, it tasted as if it was boiled. No flavour at all. Not like it use to be.

We found this beautiful Chinese restaurant by chance whilst on holiday in Southport. The service from the staff was absolutely amazing. The Dim sum is the best. And the apple toffee and banana with ice cream was delicious.

Went with a close group of friends on Saturday evening,politely greeted on arrival and led straight to a table. The restaurant is very clean and hygienic and also the toilets were modern and spotless. Service was excellent throughout the meal and came with a smile,nice people.We chose a banquet and was pleasantly surprised with what we got and all was cooked beautifully and tasted fresh. Price was very reasonable.I would definately return here given the chance and hope to in the future. Thanks👍

I had special fried rice. The mixed meat was very dry and tough

One of the meals delivered was very wrong. Tried in vain to contact them but got message that their answerphone was full then it hung up. We tried again and again in vain and ultimately had to complain to just eat.

An absolutely beautiful meal to celebrate Chinese New Year this evening. So delicious, very fresh ingredients and piping hot on arrival. We recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for high quality Chinese cuisine !

Bought a takeaway.. worst meal I’ve ever had .. capital spare ribs .. are cold and just covered in normal gravy .. Sui mi .. disgusting.. spring rolls were the only decent thing .. Definitely would not recommend.. and for sure will never go back 🤮 very poor in deed ..

Really poor quality food and very late and cold

Took my order online but when I arrived it was shut.

Absolutely rubbish experience. Over an hour late and the food was greasy, cold and some of it was burnt. I had phoned the restaurant to try and a) find out where my food was, was told it was on the way and yet it took 45 mins to get me! and b) get edible food… to be told they would not be sending out anymore food but would offer £5 off on my next visit! Won’t be returning in any capacity. Such a shame. I would also like to add that the staff were really unhelpful.

Not worth the price. There are nicer places to get a chinese from for much cheaper. Food was below par. Chicken tasted weird. Portion size was rubbish compared to other places. Disappointed to say the least.

Sent a message to Just Eat on Saturday 11 Nov following delivery of order. Both Soups were awful, and were not eaten. Main dish was also inedible. Tasted like it was burnt. Asked for a refund for soups and main meal. Ribs were dry with very little meat. Phoned restaurant and told them but was told to tell Just Eat. Still waiting to hear back from Just Eat.

The best Chinese food in Southport

Don't bother ordering for delivery. Order through Southport Eats. Food was 15 mins late and had not been insulated so everything was cold. When approached through Southport Eats they were not willing to refund and have made no effort to contact us to apologise. Will not be ordering from them again.

Food was luke warm and no taste. Always order from here but wasn't nice at all

The draught beer had a wierd taste to it so i just left it.The crab and sweetcorn soup is chicken and sweetcorn soup with cut crabsticks added. They forgot to serve the spring rolls with the auderves, after clearing the table they brought out two spring rolls, no sauce and no plates to eat off. We did not get the finger bowl with warm water and lemon as other customers did. The cucumber, chopped spring onion, hoy sin sauce came out with 6 home made pancakes. Then the bones with what was a poor excuse for duck arrived, we managed to make two very small rolls each ( any smaller and they could have passed for cigarettes). To our amazement no one thought we might need plates to eat off, so we asked and got plates. When the mains came incredibly they brought plates first but then asked if we needed cutlery ? Over all this was a very disappointing meal and some where I would not return to or recommend.

Char sui meat was dry, hard to chew, over-cooked and wasn't fresh. Chicken foo yung was bland and the chips greasy. I thought I'd try a different Chinese takaway from my usual, but the basics and quality of this meal was not good at all.

Takeaway was cold and waiting in the just eat container even though I said I would collect at 7pm. I arrived at 6 45pm and it was lying in the bag. Food was unbeatable. Will never visit again £35 wasted

Food is good. But in the holiday season, on a Saturday night, despite us ordering just after they opened (17:25), the food was estimated to arrive between 18:30 / 18:50, but arrived at 19:40ish; over 2 hours after ordering. I called half and hour after the expected delivery time and our food was still cooking. They were just busy, which is good for them. But had we known how long it would actually have taken (been given a realistic delivery time) we wouldn't have ordered. It's not like you can cancel after ordering with Just Ear so we just had to wait it out.

Cathy gardens Southport my wife ordered food last night Over £40nearly two hours later still not come rang them up they said would look into it and ring back which they did not after another twenty mins a just eat man came I said to him been waiting over two hours for the food he said he picked it up quarter an hour ago the whole food was cold rang them back the manager said complain to just eat it's a bad service never use them again

Our order arrived over an hour and a half early. It was then replaced on time. Excellent quality as usual.

Their description of the food does not match the reality. Sui mai were horrible, not as described. Hardly any chicken in main course. Loads of duck-great- too few pancakes not so great

Ordered roast crispy pork, duck, curry sauce, salt and pepper chips egg fried rice and a kids box My grandson (4) ate one chip and no more. The duck was ok as was the rice and the curry sauce. But the rest was dry and overcooked. I’ve not had food as bad for a long time. Complained to the waitress and she apologised, But it’s not her fault. I suggested she pass on my comments to the cook. Maybe it was because we ate at 18:00. Dried out food from the previous night??? There was no apology from the cook and I was not offered any discount Needless to say we will not be eating there again.

I'm not so bothered about the late delivery. It's to be expected on a weekend. However it was not as stated it was missing items and certainly never had to add salt and pepper to an s and p dish before. My little treat and can't eat it.

Called restaurant to request update after 90 minute wait. Lady on the phone very apologetic, but when the food did arrive, it was the completely wrong order. Very disappointed.

Can’t rate the staff high enough went with my disabled mum and family for a meal they couldn’t have been any more helpful. The food was lovely very big portions yes the decor is tired but the staff and food more than made up for it. We weren’t rushed it was a great experience

15 mins late past the latest time given. Completely cold, had to use the microwave to warm it all up. Terrible delivery service. Would never ever buy from here again. When 2 people are spending almost £50 you deserve better than this.

Such a shame. We’ve never had any issues. This was 2 hours from ordering and the food was cold and over cooked. This was our go to restaurant to order take away. Hopefully it was a one off.

This restaurant has very friendly and helpful staff, they couldn’t have been more accommodating. There was an abundance of food, too much really which was well presented and tasted great. Overall good experience and fairly priced.

Meat was dry and reheated. Rice was sweet. £27 for 2 dishes was very expensive and something I won’t be spending my money on again.

A forgotten gem. Chicken cashew, crispy duck and pancakes, service is great. They are very thoughtful.

Not like it was. Gone back to quantity not so much emphasis on the quality. Been going for well over 30 years now. Obviously changed hands once or twice.

Delivered exactly on time. Lamb hoisin pancakes were delicious, and the Honey and Black Bean sauce was really nice and also great for dipping. Chow mein was a good portion. We will definitely order from here again!

Soup was thin and salty, prawn crackers were dry and stale. Chips were soggy and greasy, chicken rice was seriously overcooked and dry. The chicken satay had 5 small pieces of chicken in. The only thing good was the bottle of coke!!! Asked for a refund of just eat.. they sed as I have no photos no refund! Well not again

It was a long time since my previous visit (1985!), and of course it was very changed - and so was I! On Friday 10th February, we arrived at 5.00pm, the first customers of the evening. We ordered a banquet, so that we could have crispy duck, which was wonderful - as it always is. But the rest of the food was full of MSG's, which I didn't enjoy. Perhaps my taste buds have changed over the years? But I believe if I ever get to visit China the food would taste nothing like it does at Cathy garden - or most Chinese restaurants.
