Chen's Chinese in Sefton

Lovely food and great staff we’ve been going to Chens for over 10 years and never had an issue.

The salt and pepper chicken had no chicken it was just batter fried so was not worth the money. Also just full of onions so not great.

Meals very watery. Spring rolls chewy and chips dry. Only thing enjoyable was my son’s fish. First and last time ordering from here

Used to order all the time but moved away. Literally gutted. Fried rice actually tasted burnt. Salt and pepper just tasted of not fresh onions and no flavour. Just bland. Gutted

Tasty and hot and delivered when it said. It was a wait til delivery but time given was accurate. It was a nice surprise to be able to order a smaller portion and also to find somewhere that had decent curry sauce. So many places now have strong dark powdery sauce. Would order again. Thank you.

As usual the food was piping hot and delicious

beef black bean was watery and tasteless but special fried rice was ok. Forgot to put the can of drink in. Disappointed.

Bad iteration of salt and pepper, onions and tub of seasoning rather than real S&P. Shredded chicken needs to be changed it’s really bad. Delivery almost 3 hours I get it was nye but it was ordered around 6pm shame really

Late delivery which is annoying considering I ordered at 5.15pm and it was estimated to be delivered between 6.10-6.30 and was still late. Soup is very sweet and the crispy chilli beef was in loads of watery sauce and tastes a bit burnt. The rice does a bit as well. Really disappointed to be honest.

Disgrace the order was over 2 and half hours items missing food absolutely rubbish for what you pay driver one miserable b how have just eat let these on their site is beyond me stay away is all I can advise people I wish u could post pictures thats how bad it is n3ver ever again

Food was rubbish- rice was cold and so was prawn crackers. We waited two hours and had to call twice. Not happy about it

Very good food. Got veg spring rolls, veggie foo yung and egg fried rice. Really tasty. Good portions too. Even got some prawn crackers thrown in for free as used them before. Well done Chens.

I nearly always use Chen's, I've tried others on occasion for variety but always go back to Chens.

So so disappointing. Salt n pepper chicken so so out it was so chewy & hard to eat. The Beef chow mein was actually beef vermicelli again lacking in flavour. Highly doubt will ever order again. Waste of money for food to end up in bin. So disappointing.

A good freshly made portion of fish and chips. What more can I say.

Although the delivery was early the food was disgusting. I paid for drinks didn’t get them. Paid for poached eggs got hard boiled. Paid for pasta salad go some chicken an cucumber in a box. Rang an spoke to a lad not helpful at all. Never again

Both soups were really lovely. But…Prawn crackers were chewy and stale. Both mains were really gloopy. The crispy beef was awful. Really chewy, way too much sauce and the sauce tasted like gravy with brown sauce in it. Couldn’t eat it.

Always love the food. Delivery timeframe changed once I placed the order but I was okay to wait. My drinks were missing :( But- the food was amazing and I am thankful for the free prawn crackers :)

Lovely hot food as always, couldn't ask for more and definitely my best local Chinese takeaway on Just Eat for quality of food. The reason for the rating was due to ordering drinks on our last 2 orders from Chen's and not receiving them, which is frustrating.

Dirty dirty place pigeons living above and behind the shutters... and lady behind the counter rude... avoid on less you want food poisoning!! 1 * is too many.

Food was hit n miss tonight. Starters all ok, but main dishes were 80% liquid (I say liquid because was no way near a consistency to call it sauce!) very minimal meat content prob 10% rest being onion. 😔. Two different meals tasted exactly the same. Not the standard we usually get from Chen's. Top it all off of delivery driver left our gate open and dog escaped 🤦🏼‍♀️

Food was super hot when it arrived, we all commented that we had never had such a hot takeaway delivery before. Food was nice too xx

So disappointed tonite orfering are meals for family of 4. Very bland and not much meats in Singapore vermicelli. Kung po ribs were not ribs they were bite size pieces of bone in a watery sauce. The only nice part of this order was the chicken n sweetcorn soup. Waste of money and your delivery driver needs to be more engaging... miserable! Will not be ordering from here again im sad to say ruined a birthday meal.

Don’t usually go here however our regular was closed so ordered from Chen’s. First off it was cheaper than the ‘usual’ for the same dishes we usually have. Cannot fault it at all. Also a bag of Prawn Crackers thrown in which always a bonus. Only gripe would be they only do 6 Sui Mia’s as appose to 8 that our usual establishment do, apart from that absolutely faultless 👍🏻
