We have been going to Chung Lok for over 10 years, it's the only place we'll go for a Chinese. The food is delicious, portions are perfect and the service is friendly.

Ordered food one meal fine , My son's sausage dinner was like deep fried crap . Chips burnt Sausages so deep fried they where black. You need shutting down

Ordered food for first time last night, Sui Mais was the proper ones not buffet style you know it’s proper Chinese when it’s got good Sui Mais!! They listened to my note too which people always miss :) Can’t believe it’s a restaurant too so I’ll definitely be visiting!

Crispy tofu was anything but crispy, was like eating cubes of scrambled egg. Don’t advertise food as something if you’re not going to deliver it like that. I purposely chose this restaurant for the salt & pepper crispy tofu, it is flavourless and mushy as if it’s not been cooked throughly. So frustrating wasting money and being disappointed! I’ve had S&P tofu from loads of restaurants and take aways and never has it come like this, I had to stand there over the wok and cook it more to save me throwing it in the bin.

I've ordered from here for years never had a problem but last time food was cold so I asked for a refund I decided to give them another go tonight an they called me to say they wouldn't except my order because I complained last time bloody laughable plenty more places to choose from if they can't take a bit of criticism then I'll take my custom else where be careful if you order from here an your order isn't up to scratch must have a sensitive chef

Lovely experience eating in! Lots of choice on the menu and big portion sizes. Great service - will definitely be coming back again.

First time trying here and ordered takeaway. They happily accommodated changes we requested from what their menu offered, nothing was a problem. The food was freshly cooked and tasted beautiful. It may have been the first time here but based on tonight it will not be the last. Fantastic value too

We’ve been getting our Chinese takeaway from here for years. The food is tasty but not too salty and the all in one box meals are a nice size.

Just had sweet and sour chicken delivered.think it had been on the side for about 3 hours and then dipped back in the fat to warm.wasnt impressed.

Garbage, waited over 2 hours for a delivery,made 47 calls to find out were it was and not one was answered, drove to the retaurant only to be told several lies..... this is not how a business should be ran..... and the food was below average (once we received it). The staff were also very rude.! I will not be using this compa y ever again.

Second weekend of ordering and again food arrived on time nice and hot and was delicious would recommend 100%.

I tried chung lok in March before lockdown and from the telephone ordering to the delivery to the food, I was very impressed and was going to reorder the following week but Covid hit us. I also passed on to a friend and he was also very happy and again was going to order again, so if now open thats tea sorted tomorrow night.

The beef chow mein was nice I ordered spring rolls then when I bit into them they was duck they was suppose to be plain ones with no meat

we call in to are normal place but all booked up and passed this looking for some where this was 5pm and seen the chung loc we when in and there was only 4 people at a table so sat down this was are first mistake second was taking are coats off third was ordering we got are drinks straight away but sat waiting for the meal over 40 mins and it was a disgrace chips came out cold and then came back as warn ups meals under done and over priced we shoud have paid for drinks and got out price for this food we did not ask for a doggie bag as the dog i have is very fussy hge would have turned his nose up that this [meal] crap cost £78 the cup of tea was nice please stay away from her i write this on my laptop sitting on the thron

As our usual chinese restaurant was fully booked we decided to revisit this one. We have visited several times over many years and found the food nice. As a party of 4 we doubled the restaurants clientele. Now I know the reason why it was so empty. We ordered a rum and coke only to be told there was no rum. We then ordered lamb to be told there was also none of that. When the substituted meals turned up chips were cold and so was the rice. The mixed grill contained more fat than meat. When I settled the bill I shared my comments to the lady(which I very rarely complain) She just shrugged my complaints off and wasn't interested. For a man that always leaves a hefty tip my only tip would be to avoid this place. No wonder the place was empty on new years eve

Absolute joke ! Ordered here a few times and food is perfect however ordered about 2 weeks back and got sent the wrong meal so was offered a free meal next time we ordered . Ordered again and was told we cant request the free meal through just eat and had to ring for the free meal which we wasnt told by the manager originally . Ordered tonight and requested a delivery time of 22:40 as we weren't going to be home before then for the restaurant to then cancel the order when they dont close until 11 wont be going here again .

Definitely wont order again again.gone down hill since it has been taken over 2 months ago Kin do sauce so garlicky an spicy inedible. Special fried rice meat was so dry an rice gloopy old meat an rice..bring back jimmy

We had a takeaway delivered last night and considering this is a restaurant I can honestly say the food was awful! All the meals we had were tasteless and I still can't fathom out what the coating was on the salt and pepper ribs they were vile. Definitely won't be getting another takeaway from here again.

Far to salty not even chippy chips. Asked for for salt and pepper chips and just got onions. The bbq sauce was like water and the delivery was late.

Been here quite a number of times lately. We drove past and called in and the food is really nice. The early bird menu is really good! £12 a person The food is so fresh and you can never finish the main course and always end up getting it to take out Definitely worth a visit or even a delivery as they have deliveries out by the minutes 10% off if you order through there Website

Very warm and friendly atmosphere! Had the ribs and a platter, it was soooo good!! Special shout out to the spring rolls and the salt and pepper chicken wings 😍 Thanks to Chung Lok for having us! Definately recommend!

Excellent food and service, eaten here a few times now and never had a meal that wasn't tasty. The salt & pepper ribs and crispy beef was delicious, would definitely recommend!

Ordered a bunch of meals for a night in with friends which arrived really fast and food was piping hot. The girl on the phone was really friendly and helped us pick out the best deal so it was very cheap. You get a really full portion too! Chicken Satay is delicious.

Third time eating here! I’ve eaten both in the restaurant and ordered takeout too with my partner. Absolutely delicious food, massive portions and excellent value for money. Staff really very friendly too. Will definitely be coming back.

Large chips were a small portion swimming in oil and mixed grill was tiny,steak very chewy and half a teaspoon of gravy,lamb chop was very nice though.

Delivered late and order was incorrect they had to comeback with the rest if the order waited another 30 mins

I hate leaving a rubbish review here as its normally good but this week it was awful. The curry sauce was a solid mass- it was if it had been left in the warming station while waiting for the delivery person to collect it. The same goes for the BBQ Ribs. Black bean chicken was quite tasteless and the chicken was massively overcooked as was the chicken in the fried rice.

Shrimp Friend Rice had a foul smell, couldn’t eat it.

Really lovely meal the Mongolian crispy lamb pancakes were great.

The salt and pepper siu mai were fantastic, the boiled rixe was lovely and the chicken Cantonese was tasty too but I think it could use more colour.

I had already ordered 2 packets of prawn crackers and they gave me another 1 free which they did not state in the menu or info, so I had 3 packets of stale soft prawn crackers... Rest of the food wasn’t that great either, hard dry chicken in soup, dry over cooked king prawns in a meal and no onions and peppers with deep fired Sui mai. The did give me the dipping sauces I had requested tho... This is a restaurant as well! I would of been absolutely gutted to get this quality of food in a restaurant.

Food was okay, not what I expected from a Chinese but edible nonetheless. “salt and pepper chips” were just oven chips with a small amount of shop bought seasoning.. which could be done at home. I won’t be ordering again.

Chips were soggy, won tons were flat and tasted nothing like won tons, sweet and sour lacked sauce, prawn crackers missed off and arrived 10 minutes after. All food tasted as if it had been left waiting for ages and was cold. Very disappointed as I normally love the food from here.

we order from here a lot and usually the food is amazing but I don't know what happened last night. The ribs where freezing cold and had hardly any meat on them. The crispy duck was cremated and tough the prawn toast had also been overcooked (this is usually our fave but we ended up leaving two pieces as it was either overcooked or stale bread just wasn't like it usually is) the Special fried rice was nice, this was delivered hot, only complaint was the chicken in it was like the cheap rubbery chicken. picked that out and ate the rest of it. As stated very disappointed when usually everything is lovely. overall very poor meal for the money we spent and spend here. ended up having to cook cheese on toast for tea instead :-(

Food and service were spot on. This is the 1st time we've sat in as we usually order take away. By far best Chinese takeaway in the area if not Liverpool.

Other than being a bit bland, was fine. Also, don’t order the chow mein if you don’t like mushrooms.

The crispy sliced beef was a gelatinous mess. Not crispy at all, just slimy and stuck together. Char Sui buns had been microwaved. Really disappointing meal.

Food was late, which they apologised for. The food itself was ok, not the best but not the worst either. I had plain noodles with my meal and they were dry and a bit bland. Prawn toast and spring rolls weren’t great.
