Great Wall Chinese Takeaway in Allerdale

Lovely meal had from here 5star

Tried a few things off the menu and so far it's all been good..

Never damaged it from the outside but the food is lovely and the salt and pepper chips are gorgeous

Had the salt and pepper chicken the food was undercooked the girl at the counter proper snobby took about 20 minutes to make just not a good environment WILL NOT COME HERE AGAIN!

The food I had had a terrible taste . It was either the noodles or gravy . Went straight in the bin . Wont be going again

I’m yet to find a better Chinese takeaway… This has been my go-to Chinese takeaway for over 7 years now, my usual dish is salt and pepper chicken (either with noodles, egg fried rice or chips) The salt and pepper chicken here is, in my opinion, the nicest salt and pepper chicken possible, it literally couldn’t be any better for me. I have tried hundreds of Chinese takeaways all over the UK and I haven’t had salt and pepper chicken that even comes close to Great Wall’s. This takeaway is the stereotypical “not much to look at but they have amazing food” There’s no lights on the sign outside so at night you may miss it, parking is usually easy right outside the door and service is usually quick, especially if you collect. The chips are also lovely from here, they’re proper chip shop chips and they give you good portions. I hope Great Wall carries on the way they are and don’t change anything because “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”

ordered a delivery to the hotel that we were staying in as they don't offer food at the moment. Arrived on time, piping hot and the best chicken in green pepper and black bean I have tasted in a long time. Free prawn crackers too!

Not a place in which I will ever go to again. The food was oven chips and the two Chinese meals we bought we ended up throwing away. STAY CLEAR

Definitely my favourite place for Chinese food at the moment. Can't comment on delivery service as I call and pick it up myself as I live quite close. The £5 boxes are good value for money. I'll keep going til I get a bad one as we all do! Hopefully the standards they have set will be kept and I'll keep returning

We have just recently moved to the area and had tried another Chinese takeaway in the town which shall remain nameless as it has to be the worst Chinese meal I have ever had and this led us to trying the Great Wall. Well what can I say. The food was amazing from the sesame prawn toast (which i may add were the best I have ever tasted), crispy won ton for appetisers. Main meals consisted of Beef with green peppers and black bean sauce and a house special chow mein with 2 portions of egg fried rice. These dishes were up there with some of the best dishes we have ever tasted from a takeaway. We cannot wait to use this takeaway again on Friday.

I love this place generally get delivered but called in to place order had approx 10 min wait. Its was beautiful as always. Highly recommended

I ordered a meal from this takeaway by mistake. When they saw I had not collected it, to my amazement they phoned me up and then offered me a refund which was quickly transferred to my account. Can't believe their generosity.

Normally like the food here but not today. The duck didn't taste like duck, it was all congealed and slimy, my husbands meal was stone cold and my daughter's sweet and sour was like water, the rest is in the dog!

Nice food but could do some work on the interior as there is children playing and the floor rises when you stand on it. Also could be more hygienic.

The 'bbq' sauce is like dirty dish water and taisted worse. The chow main tasted like theyd scraped it round a burnt pan & the sweet and sour sauce taisted like toilate cleaner smells.. discusting. Called back to complain about manky ribs and they told me everyone calls and says that but didnt offer a solution. The rice also was not egg fried! The only ok bit was the prawn crackers but they were all broken into pieces. Not worth £19.50! All went in bin, didnt dare give it to my dogs!

To be fair we do love this place for a takeaway - they also deliver and are usually pretty quick. The salt and pepper chip are amazing

I love the food from this place, but the way they never have the app on so you can order is really annoying. What is the point of having the app if your customers can't use it. I very rarely keep cash in my house so the only way to order is through the app as you won't take a card payment over the phone. If your that busy you have to turn the app off to cope with the volume of orders, then maybe it's time you hired more staff.

Hot. tasty and filling food delivered with a smile.

Food was delivered on time but thought 50-70 minutes for delivery was a long time. Also food packaging wasn’t the greatest chow main arrived in a polystrine box that wasn’t wrapped so food was like warm. Apart from that food was nice.

The food is absolutely gorgeous, we have chow mien and chicken curry. I just messed up my order a little and got the curry and rice mixed instead of separate but that’s my bad lol :)

Food is great. If I had one complaint it would be the irregular nature of which they use the App. Very often the restaurant is open but they show as offline on the app. If you are going to advertise that just eat is available then make sure you allow customers to order through it

I ordered 4 meals for me and family when we picked it up and brought it home we realised 1 was missing so we phoned and asked for it to be delivered when the delivery i ally came after an half hour wait we got the food, 5 mins after the delivery driver knocked again with a woman on the phone (owner) telling me I hadn’t paid when I 1000% did as I went down personally and paid myself she argued with me on the phone for 15 minutes then finally told me if I didn’t repay I wasn’t having my dish, i refused as I already paid and they made me give my meal back!! Absolutely disgusting way to treat a customer we will never be returning there again!!

Ordered a chow mein last night it was very tasty, i have had the duck in pineapple before and that was nice too. Great food reasonable priced too.

The offer of free chicken wings if u spend 18 doesn't happen at weekend which is not clear especially when u spend 595 to make it over expecting very disappointed will not order again as the attitude when rang up its a just eat thing!

I got the wrong drink coke instead oif vimto and I ended up with pineapple chicken in stead of lemon. The meat and veg was put in the same container so my veggie friend couldn't have anything! Very disappointed.

I ordered bbq spare ribs but the bbq sauce was tasteless. The rice was stuck together and you could tell it was stored in the warming oven for too long. Delivery time was good and driver pleasant enough.
