Excellent food with great service. For me the key ingredient is consistency and they deliver on this every time. For a large venue the staff always make it feel personal. Spotlessly clean. Here's to many more visits in 2025!.

Superb food and amazing views of the Mersey

Wanted to check out this place for awhile. It was OK. The service was standard, the food tasted nice. The only issue I had was, I felt it was over priced. They automatically add on a service charge to the bill. We went at 5pm and it was empty. Only a few customers showed up whilst I was dining. We sat by the window so could see the views of the river mersey.

I have eaten here with a friend on a few occasions and really enjoy it when I do. The food is nice and you get more than enough too. The staff are friendly and the view of the river over looking the river is very nice.

We came for a meal for a family birthday. Excellent food and great service! Will definitely come again

First and last time visiting this restaurant. Food was very slow to arrive, 3 of us dinning each receiving our starters at staggered times. Waited approximately 1hour until we received our main, which was cold and tasteless. Staff unhelpful. Complaints ignored, and still tried to charge £10 service charge. Over priced for substandard food.

Todos consiguieron lo que querían. El personal era muy amable y profesional. A pesar de que estaba ocupado con que era un sábado por la noche, el servicio y la comida era de primera calidad. Went here on friends recommendation for a family meal. Unlike the previous 2* reviewer I wasnt there to inspect the car park (really?) We were seated at a lovely table with a beautiful river view where we watched the sun go down. Our food was delicious and served piping hot and courses atthe pace we chose. In summary a beautiful restaurant, wonderful food andexcellent service. Will definitely return.

Food was nice and very well presented, service was first class, my only negative point was as you park the car the place looks neglected due to all the weeds and overgrown grass, once inside it’s lovely, just a shame no one bothers with the outside as it’s off putting, glad we decided to check it out inside .overall a bit more expensive for less food than my local, but it’s city prices and can’t complain apart from the scruffy tatty outside area by car park.

Average food for the price, not usually a negative reviewer but got to call it as I see it, might have been the function room for 90 -100 people but quality was not as experienced in lower dining area and being barked at for cash rather than card was a nice experience!?! I handed over my £5 note for my lemonade and was surprised when there was no change!!! The most expensive lemonade I've ever had, not sure if that made it taste better but it was nice. Must be hard catering for so many but for the £££ it cost... there's better.

Food was tasty but had to tell the waiter he had forgotten one of the main courses. We had to order more rice because the 1st one went cold due to waiting for the squid to be cooked and brought out. Service could have been swifter and one of the younger members of staff basically sits around all night, either on his laptop or bending the ear of customers for far too long. No exaggeration, he was talking to the couple next to us for 40 minutes. He carried on gabbing even when their food was brought out. Finally, the restaurant had the cheek to put a 10% service charge on the bill too. I don't think so! We told them to take it off under the circumstances, which they did.

Horrendously overpriced. I have been scammed, there is no justification for the prices they charge. The food was disgusting too, any local chippy makes better Chinese food for a fraction of the cost here. Stay away from this place.

A really good lunch - we went for a banquet, but there is also a cheaper 'Businessman's Lunch' menu . The service is friendly, and the views unsurpassed. Highly recommended.

When we got the bill, it seemed very high, so we checked, and they added a few pounds to every single item we had. They also add the service charge to the bill without asking. The man tried to blame it on a "new cashier," but as I am reading some of the reviews, this is not the first time they did this.

Yuk. The food and service is terrible. I'm not sure where to start as it was awful from the service to the food and then to top it off, trying to charge us £75!! What an insult.

This place is stunning with views over River Mersey. On a hot day, which it was, I am not sure the staff turned on the AC. Although they said they did. It's not the first time they are experiencing this, I am sure. So an upgrade to the AC would have gained 2 extra stars for atmosphere. Food is amazing. The USP is the view over River Mersey! You cannot beat that. Good car park space.

Delicious healthy and well served Cantonese food. We had an abundance of dim sum, spectacular flavours, fresh ingredients and big portions followed by ‘ squirrel ‘ fish, sublime !!!!

Had a great time at Cars & Coffee Liverpool, great atmosphere, great cars, and some lovely people. Had the coffee and buns special that was very nice, and it's all for a good cause with fundraising for charity.

I think this is the best Chinese Restaurant I have been to. The variety and quality of the food is amazing. The service is first class. With views across the Mersey as well, I don't see how they could improve anything. Defiantly want to come back.

Food was not special at all, could have got better from a Chinese takeaway. Poor service and rude staff. Ordered duck pancakes for two. Four pancakes came. I asked for more as there was lots of duck left. Bill came and they charged £4.50 for an additional four pancakes. I will not be returning in a hurry.

Our dim sum experience in the UK was unique! The Ha kau (shrimp dumplings), Siu Mai (pork dumplings), and Char Siu Bao (BBQ pork bun) were bursting with delicious, authentic flavours that took us back to the beautiful dim sum we cherished in Hong Kong. We even ventured to try a vegetarian dish and were pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was. The staff were amiable and made us feel right at home. We're eagerly looking forward to returning for a more delightful dim sum.

Arrived without a booking and asked for a window seat and that my family of 3 were happy to wait. The man said it will be up to an hour to which I said I was happy for that as I hadn't booked. He then turned his back and laughed loudly at me for some bizarre reason. 8 minutes later, we were shown to a window seat?!!!! Food was lovely, though very rushed. We ordered a banquet and no sooner had we finished a course, they were whizzing the plates away and placing the next course infront of us. Staff friendly and atmosphere lovely too. They add a service charge to your bill (10%), without asking I asked them to remove it as it was presumptuous, which they did with no issue.

Food ok, but expensive really, we didnt realise a starter platter was £15 each so between 4 of us £60 that was expensive for some Dim Sum. Food ok, Cantonese dishes nice and Yung chow, sizzling steak, but Chicken Chow Mein was bland. Service is excellent, cleanliness good, outside looks a bit tired but ok.

Cant fault the food at all was amazing... but the service was terrible, from waiting 30mins for a drinking order to not be ableto divide the bill between 16 people. On top of that a added servie charge was refused to be taken of the bill when it clearly states on the menu optional.

We came to the resturant as a party of 17 people, i will start with the positives: Food was so tasty, I really could not find any faults. Cleanliness was top notch. Views outstanding. Now onto the negatives: Service was so poor, we waited over half an hour just to be offered a drink, it took ages for our food to arrive resulting in us being fed up and past hungry. When it came to paying for the bill, it was far to complicated. We were told that one member of the party had to pay the whole bill, after many of discussions we could all pay separately but had to pay to the exact penny. Just so much confusion and faff it significantly ruined the whole experience. I am never one to complain about my resturant experience but this was not good enough.

Two adults, two young kids. We got 2 starters (one was a soup and they brought x 2 bowls without us wanting that but charged us twice). We got 4 mains. We asked for kids portions and they said no, just one size (though obviously a 6 year old won't finish a £15.50 chow mein). Just one side: a plate of chips. One 330ml beer. One glass white wine. 2 Fantas. 1 small lemonade. 1 small lime cordial. 1 prawn crackers. The bill was £129. I couldn't work out how they'd got to that but from reading others I think they multiply the prawn crackers £3.50 by the number of seats. Now I know why there was such a huge bucket (hardly touched). And there's the 10% service charge. Soft drinks are dear. Alcoholic drinks reasonably priced, surprisingly. Such a shame really as it's just so unnecessary to inflate a bill and they must lose so much repeat custom. It was quiet in there. Food was mostly nice but just basic takeaway standard, the gourmet price leaves a bad taste. The meat is v slimy. The pork was bizarre and inedible slimy fat. Noodles were tasty. View is excellent. Service mostly friendly, lovely older lady greeted us and was nice with the kids.

We had the lovely evening with family. Everyone remarked on the standard of food with exceptional service in a lovely setting and there's a large free car park right outside the front door. I can't really see how it could be improved. Looking forward to returning. Thank You Chung Ku for a great night.

Had lovely Business Man's lunch that was freshly cooked to order. The menu was varied with a veg option if needed, the food was delicious and plentiful. Will definitely be booking for our Valentine's Date next week :-)

Waited over 35 minutes for drinks and even worse the food was over an hour delay. They brought mains before starters it was all very confusing no one seemed to know what was going on It was confirmed 3 times prior after the order was taken. Finally at the end we tipped the guy called Dell. He was really attentive trying his best to help with drinks and sauces that the original lady had forgotten to bring. He recommended a Singapore dish and was friendly. We passed over £20 note to Dell trying to show our gratitude and a Chinese lady (who did not serve us) came over and snatched it out of his hands our entire table was gobsmacked. The Chinese lady ordered him away and another lady joined her and they started arguing at our table. We paid the bill on asking if I could see the bill she firmly kept hold of the £20 and passed me the paper receipt. I just wanted to see if everything was correct as there were so many issues with food not arriving. It was an awful experience. On leaving I asked a member of staff did they get a share of the tips. NO they didn’t. So poor Dell wouldn’t have got the £20 we wanted to give him for his help on the evening. Apparently they get a meal free from the menu at the end of the night. Food was ok nothing special. It was £6.50 for a chicken @ sweetcorn soup and £7 for spring rolls main dishes were around £17/19 pound without rice. Terrible to treat people like that it was literally like a vulture sweeping in taking that money. I raised it with a supervisor who said he would look into it I also raised the fact we waited so long for the food. They obviously did not care as they had been paid. I wish Dell the very best he is a great asset to the team and could be valued somewhere else and appreciated more.

A stunning location with views over the Mersey, providing absolutely stunning food. Great range of different set menus to suit most party sizes. Staff were wonderful helpful but not overbearing. Worth g The 130 miles to visit.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have encountered issues during my visits in this restaurant. Firstly, the level of service provided by your staff has consistently fallen short of expectations. Communication in English proved to be challenging and staff is not nice. During my most recent visit, I encountered a problematic situation regarding the payment process. As I needed to leave the party earlier than expected, I was unable to pay for my portion independently. I had to do bank transfer to my friend. The policy for bigger groups is inconvenient and led to an awkward situation where my friend had to cover the entire table's bill.

Absolutely rubbish. As a Chinese person this is a bloody scam. I spent £59 with my dad only ordering 6 dim sum. The food is too bad I cannot be bothered to take pictures. Very expensive , rude staff, and must not go.

Excellent service and fantastic food. We had 2 x beers, prawn crackers, seaweed, egg fried rice, noodles with bean sprouts, veg Szechuan, sizzling steak in blackbean, chinese tea and it was £73 including service charge. Everything very fresh and the steak was so soft it could be cut with a spoon. The best szcehuan I have ever had. Add to this the views of the river and it really is win win.

We came for our work Christmas meal. The food was lovely and really varied. We were in our own private room from the restaurant, which was ideal for the amount of people in our party. The restaurant itself is in a nice spot overlooking the water. The staff also found and returned my phone which I lost in the restaurant that night. Overall, I really enjoyed it and would recommend.

Sehr gutes chinesisches Restaurant, gutes Essen, toller Blick aufs Wasser. Wir waren Anfang Dezember dreimal dort und haben sehr gutes chinesisches Essen, schnellen und guten Service und angemessene Preise genossen. Die Speisekarte ist sehr umfangreich, besonders ist aber der Rundumblick auf das Wasser. Sehr schönes Lokal!

Authentic Cantonese style dim sum with amazing views at a very reasonable price and portion size. It is now my go-to local for Sunday dim sum. They also have English and Chinese menus available. I would highly recommend supporting this local business.

Went hear for a 60th Birthday, was so disappointed, ordered a dim sum platter for £29 was awful hardly any food on platter not worth the money, main meals were not to bad taste wise but very small portions especially for the price roughly £18 a meal. They charged me £9 for a kids chicken nuggets and chips was shocked. Staff were kind and friendly that's that's the only good thing I can say, I would never go back here so many better Chinese restaurants that's tastier and much better for value for money, my bill for 3 people came to £149 and I came out still feeling hungry.

I was rudely told that they don’t accept cards and the young cashier snatched the food away once I told her I didn’t have any cash. She then told me there was an ATM across the road (which charges £1.25 per cash withdrawal) all because they don’t want to pay TAX! The food was good but the character of this restaurant says it all. The young girl who served me had her hood up (really?) as she was serving a customer. This restaurant really need some lessons in professionalism, transparency and decorum.

Lovely dinner with all delicious dishes and wonderful service made our night. We definitely go again.

Best Chinese food we’ve EVER had. We’ve tried food all over the UK and we drive 50 miles over an hours travel to enjoy the food, atmosphere and wonderful service. We’ve been eating at the Chung Ku for over 20 years! Everything is celebrated at the restaurant, birthdays, anniversary’s, any occasion to eat delicious food! Highly recommended.

You know its a good chinese restaurant when most of the customers are chinese. Its the same with any cultural cuisine restaurant.

Went for dim sum - cannot fault the dishes. Nice roast duck and cha Siu. Nice surroundings. Quick service. Would return again.

The soup was cold to start with, so we ordered some bbq ribs and they come with honey ribs and dry! Like proper dry, when ever someone would come over if you asked them for anything they couldn’t understand and would have to get someone else to come over. They left one of the meals out and it took 15 minutes to get it, then we had to get up from the table and go the bar to order drinks a couple of times because no one come near the table after they give us the food. The salt and pepper chicken was really nice but that was it, the curry was bland and the Cantonese chops was dry even when they was covered in sauce. The food is soooo over priced! We could’ve got a nicer chippy for even less than half, it was my sisters 18th and did not leave us with a good feeling at all, we then realised they as 10% to the bill… 10%? Average party probably looking at at £3-400 bill so £30/40 tip for what? Serving your self and jus then dropping the food at the table no chance when the service was this bad and the food. We asked for the £38 tip to be taken off and got nothing but attitude “you not pay!” We said no we will pay our own tip and they was so rude, we gave them £20 however looking back they didn’t even deserve that. The restaurant it’s self is lovely and has a nice view of the Mersey, nice relaxed environment but I won’t ever be going back unless it had a massive turn around.

服务态度极差，楼面过来下单，没有拿order pad记录我们要的食物，只是记住。过后不同的楼面一直过来问我们order了什么餐😓，已经过来三次了，还是记不住我们点什么食物。食物很咸，很油。order了芋角，超级难吃，里面什么都没有。想要找人过来，全部站在那边聊天都没有人看过来。也没有人过来问我们餐吃得怎么样？还要我自己亲自去counter那边还钱😓以后都不会再光顾这家餐馆。

All the food came on time. The location is amazing. Full panoramic mersey views. Good portions of food. Drinks and food are expensive but high quality and filling. Staff are friendly and the food arrived perfectly on time.

My favourite Chinese restaurant in Liverpool. Some dishes are better than ones you could get in Hong Kong. Also very good value for money. I do try others but always come back to this one. Been a customer for close to 30 years. It's a light and airy restaurant with a lovely view of the river. Haven't been for a while,went back today. Simply the best.

Lunch time nice food great views

Another fantastic night in the Chung Ku the staff were attentive as always. The food was fabulous and plentiful a table for 15 and no one moaned or grumbled always a pleasure to visit this restaurant.

We went there for a suprise birthday lunch for a good friend, as we wanted them to have authentic Chinese food with a fantastic experience and unbelievable views across the River Mersey. The Chung Ku made us so welcome and treated us like VIPs the food an service was fantastic and made our friends birthday a complete experience.

Lunchtime business menu was great, service is great and the views over the Mersey are wonderful on a sunny day. Big, free carpark right outside. Highly recommended.

Initially I was afraid going to have dinner with a friend here, because I thought it was going to be an all Asian affair, no it wasn't. I saw people from other race/continents which made comfortable. It was my first time in an Asian restaurant, I enjoyed the tea, pork, vegetable dumplings, duck etc. It is a place to eat with your family. It has a very nice view.
