Great casual spot. You get a basket, you put your treasures in the basket, it is weighed (you pay per 100g), you pick your soup base and it is sent off to the kitchen. It comes out bubbling in a personal pot, and you can slurp away with a free sauce station. It is VERY easy to overfill your basket and end up with your own personal cauldron, although if you ask they will bag up leftovers for you. There are plenty of vegetarian fillings and a tomato soup base which is vegetarian. There is also a vegetarian set pot if you can't make up your mind. I found the food very tasty, lovely quick service, and reasonable prices.

Didn’t try this personally, but to relay the feedback: it was a filled, freshly cooked, and steaminggg pancake. On the pricier side, but you get what you pay for! Quickly made, so you won’t be waiting for long (around 5 minutes). Worth trying out once for sure!

I recently moved to Cambridge from london where I ate out quite obsessively and will put my hands up to being a bit of a food snob now and again. So I'm ashamed to say I was skeptical at the rave reviews I had heard for this place. I was wrong. The home cooked freshness and loving care of every dish here is really special - and not just the justly famous Xiao Long Bao. What a fantastic little restaurant.

Lovely Schechuan beef, jasmine tea steamed rice, ate outside facing interesting street. Very convenient location too. Would definitely go back.

A hidden germ in Cambridge. Extremely satisfying and scrumptious experience. Outstanding stewed beef brisket casserole, Chinese cabbage stir fry with vinegar, Singapore fried rice noodle which my family all agree are even better than those in most of Hong Kong restaurants. The crispy pork belly and veg dumpling are nice They also offer a good choice of vegan dishes which are particularly appealing to me as a vegetarian. The ramen chef js not around unfortunately so my son went for shredded pork & preserved veg homemade thin rice noodle but he found yummy as well. They are offering 50% off for today and tomorrow another big surprise and bonus for us! Great staff with excellent service with nice atmosphere. Seating and layout are spacious. Chuhou Beef Brisket and Carrot Bao: Super high quality! ! ! Vinegar braised cabbage, Xingzhou fried rice: unexpected surprise, delicious! ! Pickled mustard pork rice noodles, tofu and leek dumplings, garlic rapeseed: delicious! Lots of vegetarian options! Another unexpected surprise: half price today and tomorrow👍🏻😃🙏

One of the previous reviewers got this place spot on with its lack of kerb appeal amongst some of the other eateries in the area but as they also said at least you could walk in when a lot of those other places are fully booked. Yes it’s a bit rough round the edges but the food was fine and although I’ve never been to China I’d imagine the food here is closer to how you might get it there. I found the waiter to be cheerful and friendly so seemingly different from those encountered on the negative reviews. Not Michelin starred but hit the spot for a quick eat and would certainly return.

I heard many good things about the food and restaurant in general previously. When we arrived I was surprised to say the least. Rude unfriendly waitresses, it was as if we were bothering them finishing up a busy period. The service was awful, it definitely made for a bad experience. Even the food pretty mediocre and slow to serve, didn’t match description on menu and looked nothing like some dishes Kim the menu itself. Giving 2 stars is being overly generous! Extremely disappointed, would have spent more and ordered more but was annoyed and frustrated. Just wanted to eat and go.

Very poor service, our family never come back here again. The attitude of the waistress is so bad, we didnt get the discount for paying cash which we normally get that before. Packing for food take away is costing money which is very abnormal conpare to other restaurants…. I have been regular customer but not from now any more.

Make sure you ask them to shred your crispy duck in front of you as most of our duck meat did not make it from the kitchen to our table and I can only presume was set aside for another dish. When I raised this with a member of staff I was told that the portion looked small for a 1/2 crispy duck because it had been over fried and the meat had shrivelled up. However there was barely any meat at all - only fried skin. The (homemade?!) prawn dim sum were appalling and tasted out of date. Avoid this place - it is a sham taking advantage of the high footfall in this area. Please also note that any good reviews here tend to be from local guides. I can only assume that there is a possibility they have been incentivised for these reviews to try to counter balance the otherwise largely 1star reviews.

We visited for lunch and chose a plate of 2 porks, egg fried rice ,hot and sour soup and a pot of jasmine tea .The bowl of rice was extremely small ,the crispy pork was quite tasty but the roast pork had no real flavour .The soup although very spicy(almost too hot) was very thin and lacked any texture or substance .The tea was OK. When we received the final bill it was for £45.10 which I thought was very high The bill was NOT itemised - the original bill I was shown was in Chinese script .I admit I did not query the bill although I felt uncomfortable about no English itemised bill . The restaurant was clean and the toilet immaculate. If you chose to visit ask for a detailed bill .This place is either way over priced or over charging by at least £10-15 . We will not be returning .
