Jian Bing House in Cambridge

Didn’t try this personally, but to relay the feedback: it was a filled, freshly cooked, and steaminggg pancake. On the pricier side, but you get what you pay for! Quickly made, so you won’t be waiting for long (around 5 minutes). Worth trying out once for sure!

Average food. No service as expected. Pls save your money.

Banh mi was terrible. Crepe was ok.

the scallion pancake with taiwanese sausage is literally to die for!!!!! ❤️🤤 i have to resist the urge to buy it every day. such a lovely stall with lots of great food. the jianbing of course is amazing too. must visit!! i recommend this place to everyone

While waiting for the meal, I chatted with the stall owner, Sister Panda. The pancake fruit sauce tastes great, and you can feel the academic spirit in food preparation - very good and very Cambridge! Food that can make me, a Jiangxi native, so spicy that I eat two servings in a row must be given a five-star rating.

Tasty vegan food, can recommend! I really loved the vegan bahn mi and scallion pancake I ordered. Total £10. Everything on the menu was very well labelled for vegans and the ingredients listed. Extremely tasty!!

Delicious Jianbing (meat and veggie) for solid prices. If you’ve never tried it, it’s like a savory Chinese crepe. Highly recommended. One of my favorites at the Cambridge market square!

I was on a bike ride and needed lunch. TheJain Bing with chicken hit the stop! Never had one, but I’ll keep my eyes peeled now.

I loved the vegetarian jian bing (Chinese crepe). Edit: 2nd visit, had vegetarian banh mi, medium slickness, also good. I have a high spice tolerance imo but medium was too spicy for me haha

Always delicious! Obviously I recommend the Jian Bing (with Taiwan sausage) but you should definitely give the Doupi a try it’s really tasty and filling! Lovely owners as well!

All the vegetarian options are great and well priced. But the scallion pancake stands out as the best item.

Jianbing ("Chinese crepe") is decent, but varies in quality depending on who makes it. Waiting time, also dependent on who makes it, is usually very long (10-25 min at lunchtime), as they prepare them individually, made to order. I've also tried the banh-mi which is decent, and the hot dry noodles which I'm not a fan of.

The vegetarian jianbing was very fresh and delicious and one of my favourite meals available at the market. Will be coming back for sure.

On a sunny day we went to the market to get take out and then sat on the lawn outside King’s Parade. We went to this fantastic stall in the market and the food was delicious - I had the Chinese pancake with all the different meats as they recommended and another rice based dish. I stupidly left some of my food behind and when I came back later they had kept it for me and gave me a complimentary (and very good) rice tea as a little extra because of my mix up. I would thoroughly recommend! The kids tried the food and loved it too.

El jianbing era perfectamente fino y crujiente, complementado con verduras frescas y crujientes y cerdo estofado suave y salado. El siguiente fue el Banh Mi, que fue delicioso por su simplicidad. Stellar food made fresh by an absolutely lovely woman. First and foremost: go here to meet the owner, Panda. She wins the day with her smile, charms with her fascinating story, and puts her heart into everything she makes. I first tried the jianbing (crepe), opting for Panda's recommended pork filling. The jianbing was perfectly thin and crisp, complimented by fresh, crunchy veggies and soft, salty braised pork. Chopped chillies provided bursts of flavor to compliment a rich brown sauce. I had to come back the next day to try her other dishes. Next up was the Banh Mi, which was delightful in its simplicity. The bread, grilled up on the crepe iron, was moist and crunchy, pairing perfectly with flavorful duck, bright veggies, and a thick helping of hoisin. If you can only try one stand at the market, come here! Open every day except Friday and Sunday.

El jianbing aquí es súper fragante y realmente agradable (tuve el vegetariano). El tamaño de la porción es bastante grande y razonablemente abundante. Puede personalizar su jianbing (picante / no picante, y le preguntan si desea o no perejil). Los dueños de las tiendas también son muy amables.

Amazing food and super friendly service. I got the Jian Bing with Frankfurter/hot dogs which were always my favourite during my stay in China. Very authentic and reasonably priced. For £6 you get a lot of food. Definitely worth a try if you've never had it before.

It's always tough to find good JianBing anywhere outside China. This places has a tasty one, using what they have. While not exactly like what I've had before traditionally in China, the flavors are on point and the texture of the crepe itself is really nice.

We stumbled across this street food stall while wandering around the market. We were drawn in by watching the lady making a pancake for somebody else. Looked good so we went for it. We both had the spicy char sieu pork pancake. It was absolutely delicious. Now trying to work out how to make one now we are back in Devon. Can’t wait to visit Cambridge again and try the duck pancake. The lady serving was lovely, polite and gave us some information on the roots of the Chinese pancakes she serves. Many thanks.

Fancied a street food lunch so decided to try a few different stalls in Market Square, and Jian Bing House was the winner! Had the Char Sui and Roast Duck pancakes, absolutely delicious and very filling, great value for money. Really friendly staff too... recommended!

One of the best food stalls in the market. Friendly service, delicious char siew (would recommend). As a Chinese, I have to say that the Jian Bing tastes very authentic! Great value for money.

I went there, completely by accident. Had a nice chat with the woman there, during her preparing the food. I paid £4.50, and it was worth it. Totally recommend going there.

Delicious Chinese pancakes. I come most weeks now. Yummy and non-intimidating Chinese food. Highly recommended
