North China Dumpling in Cambridge

We visited for lunch and chose a plate of 2 porks, egg fried rice ,hot and sour soup and a pot of jasmine tea .The bowl of rice was extremely small ,the crispy pork was quite tasty but the roast pork had no real flavour .The soup although very spicy(almost too hot) was very thin and lacked any texture or substance .The tea was OK. When we received the final bill it was for £45.10 which I thought was very high The bill was NOT itemised - the original bill I was shown was in Chinese script .I admit I did not query the bill although I felt uncomfortable about no English itemised bill . The restaurant was clean and the toilet immaculate. If you chose to visit ask for a detailed bill .This place is either way over priced or over charging by at least £10-15 . We will not be returning .

This North China Dumpling is a rip off. Portions are miniscule and very average. I would suspect it had been bought in fron a Cash & Carry We had Crispy Pork and Roast pork with egg fried rice. Hot and Sour soup came to £45!!!! Just keep clear there are plenty of other Good Chinese Restaurants in the area. We should not have paid but I was in the WC when the bill was presented. No itemized bill must have included a mossive service charge.

The food was amazing and the environment was nice and clean but when I was about to pay, they said they only take cash which they did not put a sign outside of the shop to tell you about this. This took me 20 minutes because I did not have any cash on me and at last I made an order on Deliveroo and payed by my card then they let me out.

This was a random visit whilst we were on a couple of days break in Cambridge, the food was good and cannot fault this, however a bit on the expensive side for a Chinese meal and when the bill came it was all written in Chinese, work that one out if you can. When we did the sums service had been added at a very high rate. Would not visit again.

Avoid this place, they are scammers as they don’t provide you a itemised bill and then over charge you on the price. I can see from previous reviews we were not the only ones. Service charge seems to depend on when they fancy it and won’t tell you.
