I ordered the special chow mein egg fried rice BBQ sauce BBQ ribs and prawn crackers but I didn't get the BBQ sauce and when we opened the chow mein the meat and the noodles were all slimy with absolutely no taste the BBQ ribs were tasteless with hardly any meat this has to be the worst Chinese takeaway ive ever had will never use it again

Food is always hot and service is pleasant . I order the king prawn in ginger & spring onion every time and it tastes great every time ! Highly recommend especially if you are in the Cambridge area .

Just has a phone call from this number came up on my phone as Milton House Take Away in Cambridge.. Voice said ' Hello my name is Mark, I'm.calling from 3' I said your calling from Milton House Take away'.. he immediately hung up...

Tasty but they cut their chicken balls in half and then give you a much smaller portion than any other takeaway. Cutting the balls in half does not make it more.

I’ve eaten from here many times but sadly this time I ended up with food poisoning, I feel so sick and rough

Good veggie options, fast delivery, never disappointed! Milton House is really delicious, my favourite salt and pepper tofu in Cambridge and I am a regular customer

Very reasonably priced and the food is great.

I was looking for fish and chips in the chippie next door but found it closed so discovered this place by accident. Nice surprise. Food well presented and still piping hot when I got it home despite a long delay in heavy traffic. Will definitely go back in the future.

Worth the price best Chinese in Cambridge by a mile

Tried them before and was disappointed but took the chance since my favourite Chinese is closed on Monday. Glad I did because the prawns in the chow mein were fresh, the sauce was really good and the spring rolls were golden and crispy- even got 1 extra in the bag :)

Ordered via Uber eats to premier inn asked for cutlery did not receive cutlery not even a napkin had to eat with teaspoons provide for tea in the inn could not enjoy food

Great tasty food. Not the average Chinese takeaway. Definitely my favourite. I’ve tried different ones but only this one takes the top. You can tell they don’t use cheap ingredients or sauces. Absolutely worth it. Try the hot and sour soup. Or the sweet and sour chicken. You won’t order from other places.

Delivery driver was very rude and it didn’t all turn up when the driver came back she was very rude to me and about my partner

Tbh one of the worse meals, got chicken balls and a spring roll and a coke but when the bag arrived it was swimming in fat/oil. Unfortunate as order before and never really had an issue. Will not be ordering again

I like this takeaway and use it regularly. Sure, not all dishes are perfect, but many of them are pretty delicious and the portions are basically for 2 people. Preparation is quick. I recommend, for example, chicken noodle soup, lemon, sweet & sour chicken, vegetable rolls. I tend to avoid chow mein here, it is very oily.

Do not order the salt and pepper chips. They literally are chips with salt and black pepper chucked on. Highly disappointed at paying £4 for these!

The food was lovely. I put four stars because there was a bit to many prawn crackers. I would like eight lrawn crackers not 10.

The absolute worst Chinese takeaway in Cambridge. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. After making a PRE ORDER on Tuesday evening and being told our food was going to be delivered at 8pm, to then making multiple calls to them to ask where our food was and being told the driver was on the way, it didn’t arrive until 9:30pm. By this time, our food was STONE COLD. We had to reheat everything and it still wasn’t edible. We called and asked for a full refund as this was totally unacceptable after they were an hour and a half late, and then not even being able to eat any of it, a refund was refused. Awful awful customer service, the way they handled it was appalling. For the amount of money we spent, which was way over £100, you would at least think they would refund something. For someone who has used this Chinese constantly for years, I will NEVER EVER spend my money here again.

Haven't had a Chinese from here in years so following a very disappointing Chinese from another nearby restaurant I thought to treat myself to food from the place my parents used when I was a kid. I ordered special chow main, sweet and sour chicken balls and a pancake roll. Boy was I rewarded, biting into that delicious food brought my childhood flooding back. "Now THIS is what Chinese take away is all about" I said to myself. Highly recommended

Probably one of the worst places I’ve had a take away from. I ordered 4 items, the best of 4 thing were the prawn crackers. I ordered a chicken with pineapple that arrived looking more like a chicken soup than anything. But yet spectacularly the actual chicken was dry leaving me to believe it was re-cooked, therefore we didn’t eat it out of safety concern. The rice noodles were dry and completely tasteless.. the only thing that contained a flavour in those noodles were the few pieces of chilli but even those were a disappointment. And lastly the shredded beef … not much I can say except that it was soggy and cold. I had yet to experience a deep-fried soggy beef before this and I truly hope I don’t ever again. Put simply this restaurant deserves 2/10 (The prawn crackers were nice)

I have changed my rating because I reviewed this before it was taken over. I cannot give this the same 5 stars as I did before. It has changed so much, stodgy rice overcooked deep fried spicy chicken...I could go on and so very expensive now. Sorry but you seriously need to improve things. We are now looking for another takeaway after using this one for years My favourite Chinese ever. They do the best Crispy chilli beef and deep fried spice chicken. The curry sauce has a kick to it, lovely flavour. highly recommend

Wasn’t the greatest of meals. I would say it was okay, but I don’t think I wouldn’t return. It all tasted quite old and not fresh. The prawn toast went in the bin as it tasted like it was gone off. Special fried Rice with salt was nice.

Been using here for a while but our food tonight was way way below acceptable! Duck was absolutely grey and tasteless as well as our other food,won't be returning,it has all gone in the bin!!

Tried this place years ago and wasn't at all happy with the food so I didn't go back. Thought I would go again and try it as My family wanted Fish and Chips from next door and I fancied Chinese. Walked in to the take away to collect a previously placed order. The battle axe behind the counter didnt even look at me let alone welcome me. Then I had to wait whilst she messed about with bits of paper and answering 4 phone calls, and there was no acknowledgement of me even being there, not even a sorry. My food was ready to collect, but that's the only compliment I can leave, they were punctual. The Pancake roll I ordered had portions of the case that were so thick the pastry wasn't cooked. It was very greasy, but the filling didn't taste bad. I also ordered a special fried rice, the mixture of ingredients was good (second compliment, didnt think that would happen) but the rice was awful, the rice was over cooked and stodgy and tasted below average at best.

Food order over phone went ok. Once food arrived had new £20 from Scotland told their policy did not accept this note. I mean you have an address so if there was any problem with the validation of currency then you could send the police to sort it out. If someone gave you a dodgy note at point of sale in your shop then I would agree with your policy of not accepting legal tender notes .I would like to add that I did not intend to cost you money but your distrusting policies caused dispair what a bull—- response this food provider has made they have to take responsibility for not delivering a service that accounts for all purchasing situations. As a customer I was left without food that I had ordered because of their negligence.

Ordered from the menu - food was good and not too much MSG in my opinion. Wanted Beef and cashews instead of chicken and cashews - lady said this would be 50p extra but tried to charge over £2.00 extra. I said i would not have the slightly changed item.. A little disappointed but food was OK.

I can’t believe how many bad reviews they have. I wouldn’t recommend their soups, but their chow meins are always fresh and tasty. We have been having two different chow meins for just £12 which is such a good price for the portion size!

Had a very nice takeaway from here recently (delivered by Uber eats). Food was fresh and tasty! Also, they have a 5 star hygiene rating (unlike a lot of takeaways in Cambridge).

Very disappointed,im not one for leaving reviews normally but this is the first time I've tried chinese from here and the food unfortunately was not very nice so I'm afraid I will not be returning.

Use to be so good, but last 3 orders have not been good, items missing when delivered 3 times, and the food really not as nice as it use to taste. Tonight ordered quite a lot, when guy turned up with delivery I asked if all there he said yes, when opened bags 2 fried rice were missing. Took me 10 mins to get through on phone, another 5 mins wasted while they were disagreeing with each other in background. Then asked if I still wanted rice I said yes, but my food that was delivered was getting cold, the elder lady said we bring in 10 mins, so 25 mins after food was delivered we got the rice, and the food was like warm. Bad service and bad customer service. NEVER AGAIN!!

I can’t believe Milton house have so many bad reviews. I have been using Milton house for over a year now. The staff are always very friendly, the food is amazing and delivery is always very quick and the food is never cold.

My go to dish is prawn chow main and unfortunately twice in a row now i had to bin a handful of my prawns from the dish because they were not deveined, meaning the poop filled intestines were still inside my prawns and also i had a few pieces of the prawn shell inside the food. Very disappointed because it was one of my favourite Chinese restaurants.

I've been buying takeaway from here for 2 years, had it maybe 10-15 times? Never had a bad meal, it's always well-priced, they deliver quickly (or have been since the pandemic - I don't think they used to deliver) and I've picked it over a meal in some of the University's colleges (a few occasions). They delivered tonight in half the time they said they would, got to my front door (Amazon rarely make it through the buzzer door), and it was under 20 quid for 2 people.

Excellent all round. from ordering on line to prompt deliveries, Food 100% Nice. We have a meal once every week.

I cannot rate this place high enough. Myself and my partner have been to this Chinese no fewer then 50 times in a 2-3 year period, on no occasion have we had any ssue. The food is always cooked freshly and with well balanced flavours which remind me of my trip to Kuala Kangsar in Malaysia. In fact this Chinese is so good we moved just under 6 months and we'll drive 55 minutes to make sure this is the only takeaway we visit! Fantastic food, nice staff and a clean environment, really cannot recommend this place enough!

We found the staff unwelcoming. They were all strangely dressed in white t-shirts and carried sticks making it look as though they were part of a gang. Our order included their specials - FukYuen Fried Rice, which was average, so nothing to write home to mainland China about. The other was the Yuen Long 721 Special Noodles. After eating the food I experienced pangs of pain in my stomach as though I’d been hit with a stick. For this reason I can only give 1 star (as 0 star is not an option).

I have used this takeaway regularly every week throughout the lockdown. It offers a wide choice of dishes, well flavoured, using good quality ingredients and served in generous portions. The online ordering system works well and delivery is on-time and friendly. Crispy duck, roast pork and house special chow mein are the best from a local take away. I have no experience of the complaints expressed by other reviewers.

I placed an order at 6pm for home delivery...7 pm NO FOOD !!! I called them to be told my order was still with them and the delivery driver will collect when he gets back ... after I said I wasn't happy they offered a £2 refund ... then a £4 refund !!! She told me the chef will bring my food... 45 minutes after my delivery slot to which the food was barely WARM !!! DISGUSTING SERVICE VERY POOR !!! Will use them again.

I missed Chinese food when I was in the UK, tried this one but it was no where near authentic Chinese food, the roasted ducks were soggy and taste like microwave food.

Very poor food! Greasy and cold and when food arrived there was a layer of fat solidified. Avoid avoid avoid. Card machine doesn’t ever work! Update: I visited and have pictures of the food. Terrible customer service too, liars.

I love this chinese takeaway, the food is brilliant, but unfortunately it wont let me pay with card online, I have had to order from somewhere else a few times now as I have had no cash on me.

Very friendly service and quick delivery. Both my friend and I enjoyed the food from here for weekend night. Love the salt pepper chips, squid, Singapore rice noodle and shredded chilli beef. Definitely would come again.

Ordered takeaway - it was so greasy and out of date it was toxic. I'm surprised the local food standards place hasn't investigated. Also I'm pretty sure I saw a rat scurrying out the back door into the kitchen. Very rude owner when I pointed this out - it was quite threatening as he came out the kitchen with a knife.

Rubbish restaurant, rubbish as its owner, you may get attacked when having meals there, they are triads. They love attacking innocent people on streets, cooperating with police.

Is this place still run by Steven Ng and his brother Terry? Both these guys participated in the 7/21/29 Yuen Long attacks on pro-democracy protesters. They are part of a triad that beat people up on the subway while the police looked the other way.

Recently discovered Milton House Takeaway after having a lot of disappointing meals from others around Cambridge. From the warm friendly customer service to the amazing food. I will defiantly be using again.

Had the chicken fried rice and it was bland, the last time I got chips it was overcooked. I use to come here every once in a while now I don't think I will ever step foot in this place as the owner Steven attacked commuters in the Yuen Long, HK metro along with his brother, shameless.

I'll called in for chips & sweet & sour sorse I used the chips to nail the floor borders down & the sorse to put the wallpaper up , never the less I well not be calling in agen ,the kitchens looked wrong thanks Milton House take away for the experience.

Used to use this place regularly but recently taken over I believe. Unfortunately on my most recent visit (January), the food was incredibly greasy and unpleasant because of it. Sorry.

I have visited here around four times ordering a variety of dishes to share with family. My last meal may be my last there as it didn't taste good at all excluding the chips which are always fab. The previous times I've probably rated them as the best chinese takeaway in Cambridge. Hopefully the previous meal was just a bad day for the establishment. The price is reasonable and the portions are large.

Ante todo, es una comida para llevar, por lo que la calidad es a ser juzgada con debe poner en perspectiva. Es, con mucha diferencia, no la comida china para llevar en Cambridge, y es "especiales" tienen mucho que desear. Sin embargo, su carne y platos especialmente sus Singapur fideos de arroz frito, canjea que es uno de los más memorables comida para llevar en la zona. Se lo recomiendo a otros en la misma zona, y sin duda vale la pena probar una vez en un tiempo si viven en la zona. Sin embargo, debido a la falta de servicio de entrega, no vale la pena el tiempo para visitar si no ocurren a pasar. Dicho esto, si eres un fanático de Singapur fideos de arroz frito, estará perdiendo si no probarlo.

Thought we would stop by a local takeaway instead of always ordering form just eat. Really glad we did, this is one of our favorite Chinese takeaways in the area now. Food is excellent, cooked fast and friendly service.
