The best restaurants serving Chinese food in East Midlands

Has gone down hill. Ordered food very late. The food was terribly bland. Shame that's the place isn't what it used to be now.

I am really impressed. We have struggled to find a good Chinese takeaway around the area since we moved here. We tried these guys and they were excellent. Remember, you need cash for delivery. Thoroughly recommend, very tasty and the best Chinese in over a year. We will be back!

First time and last time for jade garden soggy fried rice beef curry full of onions and pre cooked beef wasn't good never again.

Canton House is one of Daventry’s best takeaways. The staff are very friendly and always make sure your meal is lovely. A few days ago, I ordered a beef chow mein as fresh as possible and it was the best chow mein I’ve had in 20 years. We’ve been living in Daventry for 7 years and Canton House is quality.

Lovely meal here on a quiet Sunday evening. Mix of veggie and meaty dishes, and the house wine is still amazingly good value.

I really hate to leave this review, and I have given two stars as the man in the restaurant was really friendly when I went to collect my order, otherwise it would have been one. However I felt it necessary, hopefully they can learn from this... Unfortunately even the salt and pepper chips were inedible. I ate three of them. Way too undercooked, they barely seemed like they had been fried at all just lightly boiled, and no way near enough flavour. The tofu was so undercooked I had to just eat the outside, and again, not enough flavour. It was also mostly chopped up onions in the box, not enough tofu. Not that if really mattered given the givens. Really disappointed, I have had a long day, and I'm on a strict budget at the moment, and I just wanted to treat myself as Chinese takeouts are usually my favourite, now I'm going to bed hungry. It's a real shame as it's so easy to get simple things like this right and have people actually enjoy your food and come back time and time again. Honestly I have had some really bad Chinese takeouts in my time, it's always 50/50 if they mess up the tofu, but this is the first time I couldn't even eat the chips. Sorry.

Shocking Christmas Eve service, pre ordered 12.45pm and delivery booked 7.10pm 7.15pm spoke shop they said driver just left!!!!!! 7.45pm no food me or another person called shop to find out they LOST OUR TICKET!!!!! Clearly money over orders and can't deliver on big nights which make big companies!!!!! Maybe don't open or limit orders and stop being greedy

This has been our go to takeaway for the last 5 years and we have never had a bad one. Never greasy, always tasty and quick to pick up.

Sadly will this has to be the worst takeaway meal I have ever almost eaten. We ordered pad thai which was essentially singapore noodles floating in a sweet sauce, the ginger and garlic prawns you could not detect any garlic or ginger. The other dishes where much the same no taste or flavour. Telephoned immediately and was told no one else complains and they are sorry we didn't like it! Obviously will not be going back!

Fantastic food and good delivery times. We did try other takeaways during lockdown when this was closed but none came close. We have used them for years and will continue to do so.

experienced a night of Chaos.Head person in charge of kitchen waiting staff shouted so much couldn’t hear our own conversation. The waiters looked extremely stressed which was very upsetting. We didn’t get everything we ordered. The service was appalling! Don’t go unless you want a laugh it’s like faulty towers .

Their food is fine and tasty, but its very strange that their Credit Card machine is always down and out of use ! So cash payment only.

Somos nuevos en branston y estábamos muy contentos de ver la comida china para llevar abierta así que pensamos en darles una oportunidad, Desearíamos nunca haberlo hecho, mi marido caminó por ahí pidió un chowmein de hongos y pollo satay pinchos 2 porciones de salsa de curry. El servicio era desorganizado y maníaco. Pagó más de 18 libras. 00 y lo trajo a casa solo para descubrir que no nos habían dado lo que pedimos. Lo devolví y me ofrecieron hacer las brochetas satay, esperé mientras veía el dobladillo. Conseguí nuestra comida y la traje a casa, impactante fue terrible, mi chowmein era básico y porción muy pequeña, mis maridos satay pinchos y lo digo muy lous ya que no era satay en absoluto estaban secos y algunos trozos crudos. No recomendaríamos este lugar en absoluto, qué pena que no han hecho su tarea sobre cómo ejecutar una comida para llevar. No volveremos y nunca recomendaría. The order was late, then they forgot half of order, so we had to wait even longer. Then when the food arrived it was absolutely disgusting. Greasy and tasteless. I will never order again.

The BEST Chinese!! We have recently moved to the area and tried this Chinese. It’s genuinely the best we’ve ever had! It’s really good quality, great portion sizes and well priced! 100% reccomend!
