Cantonese wok in Derbyshire Dales

Shame the Quality didnt match the price certainly wont be going back and the customer service is shocking just a grunt handing my food over

Really poor. Food wasn't good at all; the chips were dry and rock hard. They had obviously been reheated from the night before and inedible. Singapore noodles were ridiculously spicy. We can eat very highly spiced food but these actually left our mouths uncomfortable after a couple of bites. We threw lots of food in the bin which was really not good. I rang to tell them and the girl just laughed 🤷. No apology, just laughter. We definitely won't go back again after being such loyal customers since we moved to Matlock, not just because of the terrible food but because of the arrogance of the owners.

We had a takeaway from here last Tuesday. Unfortunately we didn't check the food rating. Its only a 1! My daughter ended up in hospital and my grandson was seriously affected too. We are now home from holiday and they're still suffering. This place should be shut down

Food was ordered at 1645 and ready at 1700, makes me think that some of the food was reheated. The half duck for £16.50 was disgraceful. A burnt duck thigh with hardly any meat on. The spare ribs swimming in juice, the chow mein with more noodles than meat or veg. Never again!

We phoned through our order of Salt and Pepper King Prawn (2 portions as we do like this dish), Mushroom Foo Yung and Roast Pork fried rice. 10 minutes later when we arrived at the store our order was waiting for us. The Salt and Pepper King Prawns were the highlight being crispy with a good balance of spice... mmm mmm

Good value for money, delicious food and good menu. Friendly staff and quick service, take's card payments and has a note of previous orders which makes ordering easier.

Absolutely lovely food is so nice under the new mangerment and the food portions are really big and value for money.

The new owners have at last established a very good Chinese restaurant takeaway. Very pleasant staff and the food is very good, can’t fault it

Treated ourselves to a Saturday night takeaway, ordered our food over the phone and it was ready within 40 minutes. Ordered the meal for 2, (A2) which would have fed three, food was piping hot, very tasty and plentiful. Beef in black bean sauce was spicy but not overpowering. Staff very friendly and helpful. Shop very clean and food was reasonably priced.

So tasty...ready for the next one...superb...3 plate fills and can't get enough..that black pepper sauce is to die for xxxx

This is the first time we've had food from this takeaway. We were a bit unsure after reading some of the older reviews, but so glad we did! The food was not greasy, very tasty and still piping hot when we got home (a 10 minute drive away). We are foodies and only give good reviews that really deserve it too. However we will definately be returning, after a few years of searching for a decent Chinese takeaway, fingers crossed that we've found it. I will update after second visit. Well done Cantonese Wok!

We ordered from just eat and 2 hours later my order still hadn’t arrived so we called the restaurant and it just said they couldn’t take my call.

The best Chinese in Matlock. The service is good and the food is fresh and delicious. We will order again.

I have used this takeaway for many years it has always been good but since changed ownership it has got very poor with a reduced menu and more expensive and smaller portions ,in future I will be using New China on First Parade Matlock who always do a great meal

Our usual Chinese was closed so we ordered from here. Big Mistake, the food was old... rice was so old it was hard and egg solid... DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!

An excellent chinese take-away. Does not take cards which is a pity , and do not deliver. However, they have a good trade, so this says a great deal about the quality of the food.

My normal take a way was closed so tried Cantonese wock .I only live 3 mins from take a way but when I arrived home food was cold and very bland disappointing as I was looking forward to it don't think I will return.

Being going here for 5 years ... the best Chinese in Matlock .. crispy chilli beef packs a heat and is meant to be crispy and thin .. don’t change it .. duck is excellent .. love the sweet and sour chicken .. Singapore dishes also excellent ... owners are fabulous ...

Nunca había tenido una tan mala he chino. La comida era porciones pequeñas y muy caliente.Mi pareja pidió carne desmenuzada crujiente con chili. . Lo siento, pero no tienen una cizalla de ternera, todo era mejor.No vayas aquí. . mal! !Y la tienda no era muy limpio.Perdido 25 libras en llenar la papelera. .

Visitamos este 5 estrellas clasificado para llevar higiene en la nochebuena, hemos pasado muchas veces, pero estaba demasiado lejos de nuestra casa para ir, así que hicimos un viaje especial de la hora del almuerzo y pedimos una selección de platos. La comida tardó unos 20 minutos en llegar, pero que eso, ya que estaba recién preparado (no superficial) y deliciosa, la calidad de los ingredientes era buena, la comida era perfectamente preparado y probado realmente agradable. No puedo esperar para volver a pedir y le pedidos por teléfono, por cierto que sólo aceptan dinero en efectivo.

Not the best Chinese in the world, the curry wasn't very tasty quite bland, and so was the special fried rice. The beef garlic spring onion was very nice, just the rest let it down for the rest of the family.

Excelente, auténtica comida cantonesa. Mi favorito tiene que ser el pollo al curry con piezas grandes de mama, los platos ingleses son igual de bueno con los mejores solomillos en salsa de pimienta negra y todo jamás a un precio razonable. Matlock debería ser agradecido de tener Ming y Brenda.

Absolutamente horrible que caliente y picante de langostinos y termina en el hospital de esta y para descubrir que era la carne que me pusieron! La carne era viejo y las gambas.. muy ido del hospital me recomendó tomar más, pero dejé matlock

As the title says Excellent food and would recommend to anyone. My preferred choice of Chinese in Matlock. The prices aren't too bad and the food has always been of a top quality you would expect from a takeaway.

He estado utilizando el cantonés Wok para la mejor parte de 15 años y siempre he tenido un excelente servicio y comida de calidad. El crujiente con carne rallado chili es para morirse, como son los platos mein Chow (hecho con finos fideos, no con la textura de los espaguetis) vienen en una salsa curry chino adecuada de curry, con un montón de sabor.

Esta es nuestra comida para llevar y regular de lejos la mejor comida china en Matlock. El personal es siempre muy agradable y la comida es genial. El único problema es cuando se van lejos de su bien merecido descanso!

We were staying in Matlock for the weekend and arrived quite late. We decided to have Chinese. We ordered over the phone and it was ready for collection in 15 minutes which was great since we were hungry after a long day in work and driving. Food was ok but nothing more. Pretty bland and flavourless. We had one of the set meals for 2 which is supplied with a bag of fried meat things which we think was supposed to be pork. Let's just say they did not all get eaten since they were just chewy fried fatty things. We also had a chicken chow mein and some bags of chips. The chips were ok so maybe just get some of those with some gravy or ketchup and avoid the Chinese delicacies

I've been going to Cantonese wok for a long time now and it never fails to deliver on taste and quality. A whole range of ribs to try and rice dishes galore. Only one thing is that the curry dishes are nice but the hotness is less than chip shop currys ?

Went here for the first time a few weeks ago and really loved it! Barbecue Spare Ribs are beautiful and the mixed grill (the onions especially) was just as good! All was really filling, but my Dad got no mushrooms with his mixed grill, which was unexpected. But will be going again!

The portions were of an unsatisfactory size. The prices were too high to my eyes.The crispy beef had crisp, but no beef. So I suppose less meat to get stuck in your teeth.Wandering Dragon was a curious beast, well cooked and quite tasty, we disliked it the least.The duck was nice though.

This takeaway has been going for as long as I can remember! And the standards are still as high as they've ever been.The only choice for a "Chinese" in Matlock......excellent!
