Open Kitchen in Bassetlaw

Sadly will this has to be the worst takeaway meal I have ever almost eaten. We ordered pad thai which was essentially singapore noodles floating in a sweet sauce, the ginger and garlic prawns you could not detect any garlic or ginger. The other dishes where much the same no taste or flavour. Telephoned immediately and was told no one else complains and they are sorry we didn't like it! Obviously will not be going back!

First time we’d tried here, great takeaway. Fast delivery and lovely food. Crispy beef was delicious as was the chicken chow mein. Will definitely be our Chinese of choice.

Absolutely horrendous meal. The duck wasn’t even crispy and was like eating lumps of belly pork The cucumber was defenetely not fresh. Looked as tho they had just defrosted it out the freezer then left it a few days The main meal was greasy and tastless I rang and complained about the meal expecting them to either refund me They came back with I will get 20% discount on my next take away. The issue isn’t with the next take away, it’s with the one I’ve just had. That place needs closing down.

Having just moved onto our new home on what must have been the hottest day in years cooking wasn’t an option, and by the time beds were made etc etc neither was getting changed to go out so we did a local search and found ‘Open Kitchen’ who would also deliver. My husband ordered chicken fried rice, chips and curry sauce and I chose sweet and sour chicken with plain rice, we were hungry so not looking for a gourmet meal, just food, any food! WOW, this is possibly the best Chinese takeaway food we have ever had, and we have had lots, it was more ‘where is the rice’ than ‘where is the chicken’ and so much that, sorry to say this, it also did as breakfast the next day, well we had just moved house! This is definitely going to be our go-to for future delivered meals.

Poor quality food. It arrived quickly and was hot, so 2 stars for that, but wasn't pleasant and my wife's veggie dish had chicken in it .not sure who else I'd recommend in retford, but not here. Shame as it used to be OK and price wise is fine

orded meal lovely but twice now not got what i orded first time ok second time cant let it lie crispy won ton not mini spring rolls or whot ever they are both times thrown in bin 18 03 2017

Good Chinese mixed meat curry is possibly my favourite take away meal and it's all well priced also delivered on time which is a plus (great Wall take note)

I have been ordering from hear for years nearly every week but lately the food is becoming hit and miss and the service is terrible we were missing part of are order so we contacted them straight away and was told it was are faulty and the items could not be delivered for 45 minutes as his driver was busy we are 2 minutes drive from the takeaway I am afraid this will be are last order and we will go to Fred's from now on and pick it up better food and better service

Not sure if its changed hands in the last 6 months or chefs, the shredded crispy chilli beef is now soggy, much slower delivery and have got the order wrong on the last 2 occasions, really disappointed

Went to see my folks as they just got back from holiday, led to impromptu drinks and a takeaway.... Mother and the Mrs settled on open kitchen, order went through no problems and was told it would be 40 minutes and 40 mins it was. Had a mixture of dishes, half a duck which was very good, beef which beansprouts, chicken and waterchesnut, chicken balls, spring rolls, rice and chips....... Also had a special curry, no this is the only reason I gave three stars, as I was really looking forward to this curry, we ordered it thick... It was, all good but then.... No spice at all, was tame and rather bland.... And to accompany it was some crispy wontons/dumplings which barely had anything in them. Also not a fan of how they do the meat, seems either boiled or steamed, but maybe that's just me.... Would say it was good, but could be better... Would still order from here again just would state I would like things better than last time.

Popped in on way home from a cricket match, ordered a variety of dishes to take home. Very quick service, noticed they have an online system now to! I'll be trying that soon. Food tasted great & very hot. I would recommend to anybody.

I've ordered from here numerous times and the food is great. The chow mien I had tonight was nice. The salt & pepper king prawns are great.

very dissapointed, they got my order wrong and i was very overcharged. not very happy! i wont be going here again. i dont know how you can mix up duck with chicken

Family of 5 ordered meals from here with extras too so it was a big order in fairness. We were told it would take half an hour but after 50 minutes we had to ring up and check where it was. It finally arrived after an hours wait. Food was delicious and plenty of it too. Whole family was happy with it. A generally good experience after the wait!!

We have tried a number of chinese take aways in the area. This is the best by a mile. We live just outside the delivery area so always collect. Good portions and a quality product

Okay so I have ordered from here a few times. Some of the food is quite nice, some of it average & some of it is below par, especially for the higher than average prices they charge! For example, the Crispy Won tons is basically just batter... very little if any meat at all & they charge you £3.60! As for the delivery charges, £5 just to get from Retford to Ran skill! No thank you. They has lost a customer.

We've now had a couple of takeaways from here and both have been really nice. The duck was really tasty and the BBQ ribs had plenty of meat on them. Chicken curry was really tasty and the egg fried rice nice. We also ordered chips but they wasn't very nice but the free prawn crackers were crisp and perfect.Will be definitely ordering again.

We had been bemoaning the fact that there where no good Chinese takeaways in Retford, then a friend treated us to one from here, it was excellent. All dishes very flavoursome, the duck in plum sauce especially nice. Excellent value as welll. We will be using again in the future

Everything seemed watered down the bbq sauce the sweet and sour, the prawn crackers were soggy and the chips were cold and hard I won't be having a takeaway from here ever again waste of money

Always lovely food beautiful and hot when it arrives. Eat once a week there and never had a bad meal from there yet!!! Delivery times are normally good they always tell you how long they will be and normally shorter than estimated time. Well worth a visit.

kind of disappointed experience that some things in general, some difficult to eat. Don't want try again. Sufficient quantities, but the quality is bad. Waste money

We always order from open kitchen, the food is always very tasty and hot. Fast delivery too! Haven't managed to sit down in the restaurant yet though.

What can I say? I will never eat from here again. We had to take the whole bag of food back it was that bad. The manager did give us our money back (thank you) but when he saw the beef?? For himself don't think he had any choice. Maybe we just had a bad night but put me off for life.

Their food is allways spot on, just eating the 4 star special. Quick delivery and resonable price.
