experienced a night of Chaos.Head person in charge of kitchen waiting staff shouted so much couldn’t hear our own conversation. The waiters looked extremely stressed which was very upsetting. We didn’t get everything we ordered. The service was appalling! Don’t go unless you want a laugh it’s like faulty towers .

This takeaway Chinese is lovely and the service is prompt. The people who run it are friendly. We have friends with nut allergies who don’t have a problem when we order. I noticed a few comments about the chips and it’s true they aren’t really crispy (if you like them like that) but the fish is tasty and not at all greasy.

I have had many a fish supper from this take away in my time. Always pleased with how fresh & tasty their fish n chips were, be it haddock or cod. I don't live in the vicinity now, but though I would treat myself to a piece of cod (naughty, but oh so nice!) at the end of my arduous week. Although the same staff are there & as efficient as ever, sadly, my cherished piece of cod did not live up to expectations. The fish itself was dry & an unpleasant texture around the edges & the batter was not as crisp & yummy as I have always had from there before. It had an almost chewy/rubbery texture. Hoping it to be a 'one off' I may try again sometime, but for now - gutted.

Our 3 year old daughter really wanted fish and chips so the wife popped out and decided to try Chi’s. Big mistake! The fish was ok but the chips were dire! £15 for Soggy muck that went in the bin. I certainly wouldn’t bother buying anything from here again based on this experience!

Good helpings of each dish, but nothing very special. I ordered the usual take away meal for 3 plus some extra items. The food wqas hot and plentiful, but very average and fairly expensive.

£2 for curry sauce. £2.40 for chips! £2.60 for 5 nuggets. VERY EXPENSIVE. Me and my partner have only been for the chip shop side but for 2 people to have a meal (chicken burger, jumbo sausage, share a large chips and 1 pot of curry sauce). £12.40. Ridiculous. Had a look at Chinese side and looks expensive than usual Chinese prices.

Ordered Chinese takeaway over the phone. Confirmed all the items but when collected some items were missing. When I rang they laughed and said I could collect the missing items in 5 minutes. We live 10 minutes drive away but the food was all cold and congealed. Singapore fried rice had no flavour and sweet and sour sauce was set like a jelly! This has to be the worst Chinese food I have ever experienced and was ashamed to serve to my guests. Never again!

I've been here a few times over the years - each time writing it off as bad luck. The staff have decided to dispense with niceties associated with manners and customer service. Instead, they choose to be abrupt - stare at you instead of saying hello and asking what you'd like to order, and silently and grumpily hand over your food. The food is tasteless, the tubs are 3/4 full - and it just leads to being thrown out. It really is that bad. The spring roll was dropping (no, pouring) with oil. The Yuk Sum starter is virtually meat free - mainly water chestnuts. The chop suey was literally like a mix of raw and overcooked bean sprouts in water. The chow mein was boiled noodles with tough bits of chicken. Literally no flavour. Awful. We've all had the odd bad meal from even our favourite takeaways (this isn't one of them) - but this just feels like they've given up. They've apparently won an award - it must be for cleanliness as their food and attitude to customers is just awful. I can't even explain how unsatisfying the experience is. But maybe I was unlucky. Three times. My money will go to St Leonard's road instead - where competition has made them all try hard - and it shows.

Always met with a welcome and the friendly staff always know what we order. The cod always has light batter and delicious white and flakey cod. One portion of chips is always enough as the portion sizes are big. We would rather travel here than to two other nearer fish and chip shops.

Don't often review a takeaway, but this is a good one worth noting. Chi's do both Chinese and Fish and Chips. The F&C are very good with generous portions, especially the chips! The Chinese is also great but does seem to have crept up in price. But always reliable and very friendly too - we are lucky to have them in the locality.

The fish is beautifully cooked ,but my only complaint is the large portion of chips ! As i live alone i have to throw away half of the chips as there are too many - as the regular portion is £2. I ask if i could possibly have a childs portion (half of the amount) but was told i would still have to pay £2 .! As the fish is nearly £4 ,i have to refuse to buy the chips as well (even though i would only want a handful for myself)

I enjoy fish and chips once a fortnight or so, and this is my usual chippy. The place is always busy but they move through the customers pretty quickly and keep on top of it. I enjoy the fish and chips: decent size fish and even the standard size chips is huge, although I agree with other reviewers who say that the prices are quite high. My only request would be for them to do a smaller portion for children or those who can't eat the big portion and don't like throwing things away. I haven't yet tried the chinese food side of this take-away.

We gave them a list of items we wanted and paid for them. When we got home, several items were missing. After some family members went back to the shop, they tried to refuse to give us the extra items, despite us paying for them. Absolutely disgusting.

i go here very often and the fish and chips are very nice, but not worth £2.00 for a regular chips and 2.40 large chips??thats ridiculous!! they are being so greedy now

We're new to the area and were pleased to have a Chinese on our doorstep. We tried this place for the second time this week and whilst the first time for fish and chips was ok (albeit the female serving us was quite abrupt), we went a second time this week to try the Chinese. The food was bland and tasteless. The soup had no flavour and the sauce from the BBQ ribs was the same sauce used in the chow mein. We couldn't finish it and when we went to through it out 30 minutes later, the sauce and food had congealed. Not sure if they ran out of ingredients or flavouring but that's not my problem and as a result, we won't be going back. A shame

Lucky enough to find this place because we live local. Always have a smile, always great food, always busy but worth the wait. We usually get a fishcake to eat immediately while waiting for chinese from the chip shop end and whenever the owner sees us she says hi and asks if we wants a fishcake. Nice to feel local :) Chicken with black bean sauce is fav dish

Friday night Chinese always goes down well. In 8 years never had a bad one. Sometimes can be salty if you have the king prawn in yellow bean though.

I live very close to Chi's. We have had many meals from here over the years and they are always the same, high quality, hot, large portions. They have never got an order wrong or provided us with anything other than 5star takeaway Chinese food, excellent.

Burnt inedible beef curry. The worst meal I have ever had the misfortune of tasting. I would advise going some where else, anywhere else

Fancied Chinese on way home from work and remembered this had been recommended.Very impressed with food, service and value for moneyTry the Singapore fried noodles and chicken in black bean source, delicious. For those less adventurous they do fish & chips. Will go back

Amazing Chinese take away everything tastes so good and it's still piping hot when it comes to your door! I recommend this to everyone as all the others are ok chicken spring rolls are beautiful!

We have tried all the other Chinese takeaways in our local area and this place wins hands down. Polite staff, very quick service and most importantly excellent food.

Fast service, wide choice and lovely flavours. They do fish and chips and Chinese. Shame they don't deliver as I think I would use them more.
