You wouldn't think it would be possible to mess up a simple order like a chicken omelette and chips, right? Think again. The omelette was very dry and stodgy and the chips were as hard as nails. Ended up binning the lot and cooking myself something from scratch.

This is a great local Chinese take away, I don't often say that for Northampton! They also do a very good Thai green curry.

As a journalist my hours of work are very varied so more often than not I return to my offices in Kingsley Park feeling hungry. I am now spoilt for choice as there are various restaurants and takeaway parlours catering for a wide variety of international based dishes. Three minutes from office is an excellent Chinese takeaway, The New Tung Shing, which came to Kingsley Park Terrace in 1976 but under a diffrent name. I moved my Northampton offices here in 1993. It's hours of opening, 17.00- 23.00 match my demands as does their quality and pricing. They are closed on Mondays but are open on Bank Holidays. Parking is adequate and phone bookings normally take `10 - 20 minutes as sometimes it can be busy. Staff are very polite. The menu is extensive and prices reflect the quality.Payment is cash only. My favorite choice as a businessman working, late is a starter of Chicken and Sweetcorn soup, and main course of Chicken Chow Mein ( No.18). Geoffrey E. Dixon-Hamilton. editor@nordic-times.co.uk I last ordered there, 2nd.Sept.2015. 21.00.,

Absolutely disgusting!! I very rarely put reviews on trip advisor but I just had to let people know. Spent £33. The crispy duck was edible however the rest of was just pure stodge! We ordered shredded chilli beef and prawn toast which was inedible. The chow mien was barely passable to eat and the prawn balls and Cantonese style chicken was just plain stodge. We just felt so ill afterwards. This place use to be lovely a few years ago. Have they changed owners?? Stay well away!!!

Food was generic, bland, service was appalling. Never again, on top of that, there was no welcoming feeling. The manager was outright rude when it came to accomodating my taste. Apparently, the customers should like it or leave it! Shameful! Absolute disgrace!

Our local take away. Very very consistent. Good standard. Highlights. King prawn toban. Chinese and Thai curries are very good too. Reasonably priced too.

when not eating at my local Indian restaurant, the Imperial Raj, Kingsley Park Terrace, NJorthampton, I enjoy ordering a Chinese takeaway at the New Tung Shing which is where I have been ordering take away meals since June, 1993. I have all of their Chinese calanders displayed on my office walls. They have a very good choice of meals and my favourite is Thai Tom Yum Soup ( as my son's wife, Mukda is from Thailand ) as a starter, Happy Family ( B1 ) as main course. That course is a dish of King prawns, chicken, beef, Chinese roast pork, for a very reasonable price of £5.40. As my office is only three doors away this takeaway is an excellent facility for a hungry journalist Geoff Hamilton, editor,. Anglo-Nordic Times Intl., Kingsley Park Terrace, Wedn. 25th. April, 2012

Had a takeaway from here for the first time in years. Food was ok if rather salty and was rather greasy. Food didn't have that freshly prepared taste to it. The Chinese takeaways either side are much better.

We collect a Chinese every Sunday and wouldn't go anywhere else. Food is always very hot and tasty and we have never had a problem with our order.

Lovely, fresh food. There aren't many recent reviews so I was a little apprehensive but I need not to have been, everything I ordered was lovely. I ordered on the website for collection and it was ready and waiting when I went in 20 minutes later. So pleased to have finally found a good Chinese in Northampton.

When I initially placed the order it stated a wait time of 35-50 minutes. Once the order was placed that changed to 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 25 minutes. The food then arrived 20 minutes late after waiting the full 1 hour 25 minutes. No word from the shop I had to chase a time on the app. Once the food arrived the complementary prawn crackers were soggy and stale so I'm glad I didn't pay for them. The chips were cold and soggy and the sweet and sour chicken wasn't great either. Rice was OK.
