Best Chinese I have ever had. Cooked fresh and didn't make me thirsty due to amount of salt which has happened at other chinese take aways. Lovely friendly staff and very reasonably priced. My new chinese by far.

Best Chinese I’ve had in a long long time !! , great service food was nice and Hot the lovely Gentleman asked me if I wanted sauce with my fried rice & chow main!! . I have been to other Chinese take aways and they don’t even give you the option. it’s nice to finally find a good Chinese Will definitely be ordering again from here. We have just placed an order and asked if the duck had any coating on (such as breadcrumbs or batter) because I have a gluten allergy. The lady on the phone stated the duck came plain, just fried with orange sauce over. We got home to find the duck was battered. YOU COULD KILL SOMEONE BY GIVING OUT FALSE INFORMATION LIKE THIS!

I ordered a lot meat for deal meal and my wife asked about this we recieved only pasta with and souse! a little bit meat!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told many times about this I will pay extra for thos - zero - I think that this chinesse should be cas speak english! i am angry pasta with a2 pieces with the meet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Such a shame was best takeaway in town. Changed hands and it's terrible, been going there for more years than I can remember. Looking for a new takeaway now.

Been in hospital with covid, got discharged and really fancied a take away. We’ve been here before and normally really great fresh Chinese food. It was absolutely awful!!!! So expensive too!! Will not be using them again.

Have always ordered and loved a Chinese take away from Duston Cottage, however we collected this evening and I knew straight away something had changed. After reading reviews on here I now know they’re under new management. The food was not nice at all. The chicken was like jelly, and the crispy beef dish was completely different. The beef seemed seriously hard. It’s such a shame as I would always recommend friends to Duston Cottage and now it looks as though I’ll need to find a new Chinese takeaway :( I’m not sure we will risk ordering again.

This was the best takeaway in the area by a country mile. Today i found out that it has changed hands and feel like I have lost a dear friend. The ever loyal, friendly and dependable Chinese that has been with me through thick and thin. Poor food, inflated prices. RIP Duston Cottage. Gone but never forgotten

New Menu Recent menu update has seen the removal of all set menu's, which used to be a family favourite treat, deciding which choice A, B, C etc now NO choice oh & tried to pay contactless, but cash only, I won't be returning

Great little Chinese takeaway, extensive menu, reasonably priced.

Am so disappointed, tonight we've found out Duston Cottage has changed hands. To make it worse, I've Just had the worst meal I've had from a chinese for ages... also prices have gone up... such a shame its ruined my Sat night favourite food. We'll have to find another after 6 yrs loyal patronage...

Ordered from Yan at Duston Cottage for years and never had a problem. The food was always tasty and well sized portions... now it’s is dry, bland and the prices have gone up!! I strongly recommend to order elsewhere! :(

I love this place, ans seem to have followed the chap around duston with his various ventures! Very good Chinese, good service to, parking can be problematic, if you don't like to park on the road, or round the corner.

Pros lovely food Cons; Limited front of house space for customers and often more in the shop than there should be; so not exactly a Covid secure environment. I think they should take orders at the door and ask customers to wait outside. They only have one phone line so they struggle with card payments, which in this day and age isn't great!!

Have to say ..Duston Cottage is by far the best Chinese takeaway in Northampton!.. . Fantastic food .. good portions! ..reasonably priced!...a winner all round!

Lovely chinese food, reasonably priced, good portions, great tasty food, can highly recommend. 5 star chinese food. Good menu I have chilli salt King Prawns which is just the BEST. Good portion of plump juicy prawns really tasty and fresh.

Worst Chinese ever, the food was disgusting, it tasted out of date. TERRIBLE!

We spent approx £35 for my birthday celebration. It was the first time we tried the food here as we were impressed with its hygiene rating. What a disappointment, the food was bland, poorly prepared and not worth the money. We would not be tempted again. Poor poor poor.

This must have changed hands in the past 12 months as the food for a better word is disgusting. The food always used to be good but it hardly passes as food now. The special fried rice dry was cleggy and stuck together like pudding rice and the prawns/shrimps were still cold in the centre. The duck in orange sauce well I couldn't explain what that tasted like as I took one look at it and put it in the bin. I did phone and told them about the duck but the young lad was not interested and as good as told me if you don't like it don't come here - well that is exactly what I am doing from now on...Be warned!
