Ordered from here for a birthday meal, me and my family were eating and found a flying ant in the noodles. I called the restaurant and was screamed at and threatened; she said she’d come to my house. The women on the phone (wang) spoke to me so appalling my mother took over and spoke to her where she accused my mum of putting hair in the food to get a refund?? After about 20 minutes of being screamed at and threatened she sent the driver to come and collect the rest of the food that we’d been put off eating due to the INSECTS? And said she’d refund what was left..the delivery driver however was lovely and even took us to the restaurant himself (as I don’t drive) to get it sorted, even he knew it was all bs. After being interrogated and wang giving my 14 year old sister a mouthful we got a refund as we said we’d call environmental health?? The delivery driver then took us home and apologised on behalf of the restaurant even tho it was not his job to do so. Myself and my family will never be ordering from here ever again, not even because of the flying ant (it’s that time of year all the bugs come back to life) but because of the way it was handled and how myself and my 14 year old sister were treated…on my birthday no less. I would not recommend buying anything from good wok unless you want to be interrogated, threatened and verbally abused 👍🏻

After a recent adventure to the Chinese supermarket, we decided to spice up our dining experience with some accompaniments for our sui mai and prawn dumplings from "Good Food" (formerly known as Yummy Yums) - spoiler alert: it's neither good nor yummy. Our order of crispy duck, prawn toast, and special fried rice turned into a real-life episode of culinary chaos. The "special" fried rice was so underwhelming with its minimal meat offerings that sharing it felt like re-enacting the ration scene from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – I was Grandpa Joe...stuck with a few sad peas while the rest of the crew feasted on the tiny bits of meat and lacklustre rice. The prawn toast resembled a charcoal briquette, and even our dog passed on it with a look of disappointment. On to the Duck, I was looking forward to this the most. Unfortunately, this was the worst of the lot. If I could describe it, it looked like the poor duck had been at the centre of the blast zone of a nuclear bomb. If a fire broke out in the house, I could use it to break the windows. I don't know what the duck had done to deserve such a terrible afterlife but it definitely didn't deserve that. Luckily the kids didn't care, they were busy scoffing all the pancakes which to be fair, were probably the best part of the meal. I called "Not Good Food" and was greeted by what sounded like a child on the other end, she told me that I can go and collect another one. This defies the whole point of ordering in so I refused. I was told that they were very busy and they had no idea when they could bring another one. I complained about the service and they agreed to deliver as soon as they could. 20 minutes later, they called back to tell me that they won't be delivering it as they are too busy. Again, I complained, much to the disgust of my kids who couldn't believe I was kicking off over a duck. Obviously it wasn't a big deal for them as they had eaten all the pancakes and the crap rice, where I had had 6 peas and a slice of burnt prawn toast in the form of a hockey puck. I eventually demanded a refund to which they agreed to process...when they aren't busy. 3 hours later, we got the refund for the entire meal. Only fair as they completely ruined my evening. I have since joined the British Waterfowl Association which focuses on conservation, education and preservation of ducks. Standing up against the likes of Yummy Yums and their questionable duck treatment methods. Check out the attached evidence, and remember: steer clear of this establishment for some truly subpar food and service that's less reliable than a wobbly table leg.

The food is excellent, but £100 for a lunch consisting of two starters and three mains is off the charts expensive, and unfortunately makes one feel ripped off by eating here. Extremely basic atmosphere, on a fairly downtrodden high street means there’s really no need to be charging such excessively high prices for food. You could get double the value in Chinatown. I would race back to this restaurant but probably won’t as the prices were just ridiculous
