Terrible place waited hour and half for food then forgot 3 dishes phoned said can’t refund us and will be another 2hours if wanted the rest off our food also laughing on phone and said have to wait till we order again would never order from this place again

Ordered Young Chow Fried rice and Beef fried rice. Very tasty, well priced. Beef was tender and enjoyable to eat. Partner enjoyed her Young Chow fried rice. Were very good when it came to checking for allergens.

This used to be one of the best Chinese takeaways in Wickford but sadly like so many other takeaways in Wickford they have gone downhill massively, they have extremely poor customer service and the food quality is way below expectations. My wife ordered a takeaway for our family this evening (£45) and part of the order was plain rice noodles with plain chicken (for our daughter) and chips in curry sauce, they managed to screw these up, we called to tell them of their error for them proceeded to tell us we were wrong, they finally admitted they were at fault and said they would deliver the correct replacements within 10-15 mins, it took over 40 minutes to them deliver the correct dishes, as you can imagine after 40 minutes of waiting the food had now gone cold and most of it ended up in the bin. I can happily say I won't be using the New Golden Jade again.

Placed an order that we was told would be ready in 40 minutes and then waited for over an hour and 20 minutes. Got home to eat and found that there were items missing and the young girl accused us of not ordering them and said it would take them a further 10 minutes for it to be ready so our other food would be luke warm. In the end only thing they got right was the refund.

Ordered on a Friday night, got 4 dishes for a very reasonable price. Was ready to collect within 15 minutes. Really tasty and will be ordering again. Thank you

Nice meal and drinks for our group

Food was pretty good, delivery was good and delivery driver was polite. Prices ok and would definitely recommend. Not too many places in Wickford that are actually good but this was a pleasant surprise.

Worst Chinese takeaway I have had in a long time asked for pork Cantonese style got battered pork no beansprouts just sweet sickly sauce and pieces of pepper also fried rice was brown and tasted strongly of soy sauce

Really like golden jade, used to have a bit of a reputation but under new ownership and food is generally really good. Took 1 star off for service as have got a few orders mistaken during busy times

Having only lived on the wick for just over a year have had half a dozen takeaways and cannot thought any of them ! Food always ready what time they have stated,all dishes packed out to the rim and all very well cooked 🙂

The food was disgraceful The chicken curry chicken taste like A rodent and the crackers had bones found in the bag with them chicken Charmane soggy staff were so rude when I tried to complain they are a pack of goals

I like this Chinese but disappointed with quarter duck. Hardly no meet and very hard deep fat friend skin only. Was already shredded and looked like re-cooked left overs. Other then that, noodles and chicken dish nice

Definitely gone downhill since the new management took over a few years back. Had 3 meals since and all have been disgusting. Even though we are only minutes away from the New Golden Jade, we now drive a 3 mile round trip to go to Wing Hing in Shotgate where we are never disappointed. Only downside is Wing Hing only take cash and not card.

Had this 3 times now, not impressed on each occasion. Greasy, poor quality. Will go elsewhere from now on.

Recommend this by a neighbour as just moved to the area my by a english girl who was rude and didnt care placed order waited 25 minutes for take away not delivery got home bits missing and chicken dish was wtong. Tried to call coulnt get through so has to go back. Cant belive how rude the English girl was like it was my fault it was wrong. Waited another 15 mins for two items and by thime got home rest was cold. Food was notthing special dry chips and cold. They need to change the English girl front of house as she shows the buisness in a very poor light

I love them, so friendly, so accompanying! You can't literally design your own dishes and if they can they will. They always overestimate delivery time, just in case. Get the plates ready early 🤣

Just had our first takeaway from new golden jade amazing value and lovely thanks will go there again for sure x well we went there again tonight and another 5 stars! Looking forward to next time already!

The phone line is always very busy but food never takes very long to be ready. Great Quorn substitutes for chicken dishes but some can be a little bit dry. I've had better egg fried rice but it's perfectly edible.

Very poor must be worse Chinese in Wickford no egg in the egg fried rice and max 3 very small pieces of chicken in the chicken chow mein.

Phoned an order in told it would be about 40 mins. Not a problem walked round after 35mins then waited around outside in the cold for over half an hour!! Appreciate they are busy but if it's gonna it's gonna take longer then just say so 🥶🥶

We often order from here and even though it can get busy the food never fails to disappoint, all hot taste amazing and always fresh. Home delivery hot and fresh and just as good when collecting. Will continue to order from here as often as possible 👍👍👍👍👍

I ordered chicken satay and noodles. The chicken satay was totally inedible. I wouldn't have given it to my dog. It didn't resemble chicken in any way...rubber yes , chicken no. I'll not bother using golden jade again with so many other choices in wickford.

Best Chinese in Wickford, only wait a few minutes for collection and food is always lovely and fresh never greasy!

We used Golden Jade for many years and have always been pleased with the service and food. Used it 3 times since the management changed and each time the sauce for the Beef with green pepper in black bean sauce has been watery, resembling a weak gravy, which is a shame as it is my wife's favourite dish. My favourite dish from the original Golden Jade was Vietnamese Chicken, which is sliced chicken cooked with roasted garlic, ginger and spring onion. This is not even on the menu for New Golden Jade so sadly we will be going to Wing Hing or Lon Wah's in future.

Do you know it's ok really, the food is better but really quite expensive for a takeaway you may as well eat out.

Ordered gluten free food and they were so accommodating and the food was so delicious. Delivered really quickly.

We were surprised to find the owners of the Take Away had changed. It was even more surprising to find the food had improved immensely. The options have increased and the food quality is really very good. The Hors D'oerves are highly recommended. The Chicken chow mien is to die for and easily feeds two. The sweet and sour chicken balls are well worth the money and well cooked.Well done guys, Keep up the good work.

I had not been to the Golden Jade for a while so wanted to see what the New Golden Jade was like. There was no trouble ordering the food and any queries I had were answered. The meal was prepared very swiftly and I was soon consuming the food at home. I enjoyed the flavours in the spring roll and my mushroom fried rice was good too. However I have not yet had enough of the menu to comment more fully.

Good food and I guess it's good they are busy, means the foods good, but delivery was an hour tonight. :(

Exelent place to get a take away

The food is great quality. But on a few occasions my order has got muddled and also taken to another person, when I called the owner to say my order must have been swapped with another customer he said he will make from fresh. An hour later my original order turned up but was not a fresh one, owner lied he did not make from fresh, he got the driver to collect my order from the other persons house and swap. Fair enough, but I’m sure my order was opened as all the containers looked like they been tampered with and some of the food was cold by the time I got it. Not good customer care.

Visited here on a recommendation, and this one seriously good Chinese take away. Cleanly cooked, and full of flavour. Compared to most other Chinese takeaways, grease is non existent. Actually prefer it to Lon Wah, which is some compliment. Any poor reviews i think are possibly fake. You cant have mainly 5 star reviews and take a 1 star review seriously.

Having avoided 'Golden Jade' for years for terrible food etc, I was so very pleased to hear it had been taken over and renamed New Golden Jade. In my view this is the best takeaway I've had in a long time, from anywhere, not just Wickford. Used it 4 times now and all the dishes have been good quality, not too salty or greasy etc. I really can't fault it. I just hope more people realise they've changed ownership as they've not advertised it much.

We've ordered from here a few times. The first time was ok. The next two orders were wrong. Apparently the owners changed recently and we thought we would give it a go. Never again lol

So pleased i overheard this chinese was under new management and gave it a go. I was not disappointed at all. Possibly one of the best I've ever tasted and great service too. Very excited there is now a good chinese on my doorstep.

It's now under new ownership. I have only had one take away since it's been taken over and I was not disappointed. The man who took my order tried hard to give a good service and I must say he did just that.

Food is always good from here and the prices are incredibly cheap. Delivery times are usually a little long but worth the wait.

Found three hairs in my food when I rang to complain they didn't apologize they wanted a crime scene report ie colour length unbelievable yuck one of the people who as soon as they saw the hair vomited the whole lot when in the rubbish

This is the worst Chinese I have ever had waited 45 mins in the shop and the food was terrible and very pricey the Hong Kong chicken was dry all the other takeaways it comes with sauce in it but the is horrible stay away !!!
