Great food always. Can get busy at weekends food is always fresh phone early and get your food delivered at a time that suits. Don't forget to tip the drivers as they do the tippers first 😉

Don't order as soon as they open for delivery straight away as always find prawn balls are soft and crispy chilli beef is chewy asif its from the night before.order later and foods quite nice but portions are terrible all fall of sauce and veg and little meat.

Good food. Getting through on the phone is very difficult espically on a Friday night and if you want delivery then it is normally over a hour wait. The lady who takes the orders is an awful person who is rude and has a horrible attitude. If there was anither Chinese in Wickford that was nearly as good as New World I. Would never use the place again because of her.

We ordered some kin do spare ribs only to find that we had been given bbq spare ribs instead! We contacted them straight away and explained what had happened, they said not to worry that the next time we ordered they would give us the kin do ribs free of charge, my partner has gone in there to order food today only to be told that they would not honour their offer of free of charge and that we are lying!!!! They clearly don’t care about their customers and to accuse us of lying is absolutely disgusting behaviour! Make sure you check your food people as they care about their customers who spend their hard earned money!

We've had good and bad. Wouldn't be first choice. Edit - just saw this pop up on my history, how times have changed. Simply the best Chinese in town (in quite a few towns I would wager). Proper diced chicken used in dishes as opposed bought in pre-processed rubbish you get everywhere else. It can be difficult to get through on the phone sometimes but that's evidence of the quality and popularity of the place.

Terrible. Ordered ov6e £80 of food. Three separate orders. Tried to charge a £6 delivery charge as one order was "under threshold". Avoid. Scamming con merchants. Rude staff as well.

I’m actually not a great lover of Chinese takeaway food probably due to all the really bad ones in Wickford but having said that the New World is easily the best one out there Unless it’s from there my wife won’t have one

Ordered food from new world yesterday and the lady on the phone was very rude, but because they are extremely busy they don't care! They have enough custom so they don't need to be polite, Food was ok but the ladies attitude made this a bed evening. I hope people read this and avoid this venue.

Waited 1 hour 45 minutes ( after being told 50 mins when i called to order ) to receive re warmed yet still cold chips, veg pancake roll under cooked and stone cold, cold chow main, over cooked egg fried rice with no egg, sweet and sour sauce with no taste at all and bbq sauce that was unedable looked like jelly. I would stear clear of thos take away not worth ted wait or the money or the rude delivey person

restaurant is very rude. only thing i enjoyed was their black bean sauce but even that was too sweet. gave me the wrong things so i asked for a refund and they said okay but still have not received that refund two weeks later. called them and they said it has gone through when it actually hasn’t since i still do not have it. very unhappy

Love this Chinese, food is always spot on, it does take ages to get through to place your order and deliveries lately take about 2 hours to arrive so factor this in when ordering.

Very bad don't get your meal on time waited over an hour for delivery that's not good at all. Never answer the phone and wait to long for call back. Will get a meal else wear next time not good enough

This Chinese is the BEST in the area!! The food is spot on every time, it’s always hot, I’ve had most things off the menu and I’ve loved everything, the 2hr wait is sooo worth it, some say they can never get through, I ring one after the other about 20 times and I get through and WOW is it worth it, the salt and chilli prawns are soo nice and the chicken version, Singapore noodles omg I could go on. Honestly best chines ever!!

On the phone I ordered chop sticks. When collected we paid and realised that the chopsticks were not in the bag. I asked and she said she wanted to show them to me. Which I thought was weird. I chose the £1 wooden ones. She then refused to charge me £1 on my card as I didn't have cash. It was her mistake and she wouldn't give them for free. So we left without chop sticks and we will NOT be returning. She couldn't give us cheap chopsticks for free?? How ridiculous!!!

Been using new world for several years now, always ring and preorder so you know you’re almost guaranteed the time you would like. Never had a bad dish - crispy shredded chilli beef is a favourite in our house and has been spot on every time!

Been coming here for about 17 years now. Love it. Wouldn't go anywhere else for a Chinese food takeaway. Difficult to say favourite but always have salt n chilli chicken, kung po chicken and s&s king prawn balls...delicious!!

We are not great Chinese food eaters preferring Indian but every now and again it makes a nice change. All our friends have been singing the praises of New World, a takeaway that's been in Wickford as long as I have! so we decided to give it a try. They do deliver so that's a bonus but I couldn't find a website with a menu so we had to guess the standard fare. It took over 1 hour to arrive from a 6 o'clock order time but the food was hot and tasty and not at all 'gloopy'. so ok with us.

Always great food. You have to wait between 40-60 minutes but it’s worth the wait, freshly cooked food delivered to your door brilliant!

Good value for money and food isn’t bad. But .. The lady who took my order was rude. I was told it would take 1 and a half hours to 1 hour 45 mins to come, which is fine but it was over 2 hours late. It wasn’t hot at all when I got to eat it and my order was wrong.

We have been customers of this takeaway since it was Lucky house, many many years ago. The pancake rolls are the best ever. The food good and no complaints. However trying to get sonebody to answer the phone to order a delivery on a Saturday evening is something the owner needs to look into. Waiting nearly 2 hours just for somebody to answer the phone is unsatisfactory. The young girl works very hard and spends many hours answering the phone for deliveries but there needs to be a second phone number and another Person answering the phone. Now the Lon Wah opposite is a takeaway only (Who have two phone numbers) and more staff, there will be much competition.

The food is very good, they were very busy but didnt have to wait too long.

Probably the best sauce in Wickford for a Chinese and also good value. Waiting times can be long depending when you go / order and I would like to see a larger portion size, particularly on the meat / sauce portion vs. the rice. Not the best in Wickford overall, but certainly one I would return to.

Been eating takeaway's from the New World since 2001. It has steadily gone down. Last Saturday I had to throw £22.10 worth of bad, tasteless food in the bin. I will never go there again.

The food is always good, the service very fast and the prices are reasonable. You can be expected to wait from 5 to 10 minutes on a normal day or up to 40 on an extremely busy day.

We have used this take a way for years, and we have never had a bad or disappointed meal. It is also responsible, gets very busy on most night so is advisable to phone, and order first.

Ist time we’ve used this takeaway won’t be the last! The food arrived 20 mins from ordering food was piping hot and delicious! To be honest I’ve driven past the shop many times and hadn’t even realised it was a Chinese ! would imagine a lot of people have done the same so I would change the sign definitely although with food like that I would imagine they’re doing very well.

Terrible, probably one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. Massively over priced for the quality of food, go to a restaurant instead! Crispy shredded beef burnt, well over cooked dry and bitter. Every dish ordered was just not nice at all, topped with the price a very bitter taste left in my mouth.

Been using this Chinese take away for years, just had meal delivered and I can honestly say worse food ever. I asked for prawn balls and got chicken, so we thought oh well we will try the chicken balls, well the chicken had a vile sour taste. Then the special fried rice was terrible, dry and no tastes. Ribs in sauce, the sauce tasted sour and very weird. All in all a really bad meal

RIDICULOUS!!!! Took my order and then phoned back 10 minutes later and told me they wouldn't deliver as I live 3.1 miles away. They only deliver within 3 miles! Literally gave away my business...... Also lady answering the phone was not very good at taking the order or even the post code - it took 5 attempts before she got the correct road, frustrating!! VERY disappointed with the service can't comment on food as they would not deliver. Ordered from their competitor and they delivered no problems and was lovely!!!
