The best restaurants serving British food in Wales

We always head here for Sunday lunch when we are down in this area . Today was it was our Easter Sunday treat , it was beautiful . We highly recommended this family run pub /restaurant. They only do Sunday lunches but we've eaten here quite a few times now and EVERY time it's superb.

Lovely setting and decor. Friendly and accommodating staff. All the family, 6 adults and 3 kids, had Sunday roast dinner and pudding. Food very tasty and plenty of it especially the gravy. Will have no hesitation in returning to Caffi Traeth. Excellent.

I do not cook at all when The Penny Black is open ! I feel really sorry for cafes and restaurants like this ! It's not their fault that they are unable to open up at the moment still ! The Post office is an integral part of the Burry Port community and as such will have struggled to retain their loyal clientele! Not everyone is,driven by price but as I intend to eat there 3 or 4 times a week , still, I'm very grateful that the prices are priced really realistically , as I'm single and only on my works pension, still ! I messaged the restaurant to book Sunday lunch via Facebook messenger but when I found out only beef & pork were available I said I wouldn’t be able to come as don’t eat beef or pork. I had asked for chicken. Kerry the owner was more than happy to accommodate & arranged for the chef to cook me chicken specially which was delicious. On arrival had a warm welcome. Love the ambience and attention to detail and customer service was second to none! Well done Madisons!

Best Sunday Lunch around. My number 1 requirement always met. THEY SERVE THE FOOD HOT. A tad snug inside these premises but nice real ales and a good variety of top notch food. Booking is advised.

My partner and I popped in for something to eat but they weren't serving food unfortunately, had a lovely cup of tea though to enjoy the absolutely stunning views!! We'll be returning very soon to hopefully enjoy something to eat and experience the lovely atmosphere again! If your after amazing scenery and out of the way charm, this is the place to go!

This place was recommended to us so we called in and have to say got to be the the best breakfast we've had 5 star and deserves every one gonna be our regular breakfast

Found by accident really when looking for site, with hard standing!!!! Near friends in Pontypool. Dale and his father were very very welcoming. Facilities great and very clean. EHU was a bonus, especially in the winter months. Was made very welcome in the nights we went into the pub. Hopefully they will serve food again. Fully understand difficult at the moment as Dale suffering with poorly foot bless him. Would only like to suggest time on and time off due to the very narrow road in, especially for a caravan. I bet the locals keep this place quiet - it's a little gem. It's light, modern and clean with plenty of seating. The cakes are beautifully artistic and delicious. The portions are generous and prices very reasonable. So glad we stopped by. What a lovely place (but don't tell anyone 😉)

Picked up an afternoon cream tea for my parent’s wedding anniversary. Very good quality and value for money.

Lovely little cafe with wholesome tasty homemade food and treats and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Nice plant and gift shop next door too.

Visited today (sundau 11/05) and was greeted by the lady . She was very polite and helpful. We ordered tea and roasted tea cake whixh was absolutely lovely. The toast thst followed too was lovrly . The egg timer with the tea was lovely and reminded me of Flash Gordon (if you know you know…..) Nice to see so many people in there on a Sunday morning enjoying rhe facilities and the sun !! Thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing! Diolch Yn Fawr

We visited on a Saturday afternoon, a lovely atmosphere, service and food. 10/10 - will definitely be revisiting soon :)

Las mujeres encantadoras que trabajan allí claramente tienen una pasión y orgullo por la deliciosa comida saludable. Hecho para sentirme bienvenido tan pronto como entro, me dan los especiales de hoy y ofrezco una degustación de deliciosa sopa de champiñones. Me decanté por una envoltura italiana y pastinaca y pastel de jengibre, ambos deliciosos y cuidadosamente preparados. ¡Recomendaría esta pequeña joya a cualquiera!
