Quay St Sandwich Bar in Cardiff

I visit here often and there's a reason I went out on a blustery day to walk the 10 minutes there. The lovely women who work there clearly have a passion and pride for delicious healthy food. Made to feel welcome as soon as I enter, I'm given today's specials and offered a taster of delicious mushroom soup. I plumped for an Italian wrap and parsnip and ginger cake both were delicious and carefully prepared. Would recommend this little gem to anyone!

Had a fab flat white and takeaway halloumi salad. Been back for a sitdown coffee and homemade takeaway cake and will be back again. Rachel, Katrina and Ruby are lovely new hosts - good luck 😊

Its the one and only place in cardiff I can go to get a sandwich while out and about. You think im mad but being allergic to Gluten sucks as you cannot just quickly gran a sandwich from tesco's etc. However, this place has finally made it possible! you know what else is good? they are superb! If you allergic, celiac or sensitive to gluten, this is the place!

Our family stumbled upon this sandwich bar one lunchtime on our holiday whilst looking for a snack. My wife and I thought the Cajun chicken with peppers was delicious and my son was delighted by the home made chocolate brownie with ice cream. The quality of food was excellent as was the service by the staff and very reasonably priced.

Great quality food with a gluten free option on just about everything. Could not ask for more. Oh, and a fab friendly service without fail!

Recently started working nearby and have walked past several times, so today I popped in. The place is spotless, ingredients fresh and the staff and owner both friendly and engaging. You'll pay a similar price for a sandwich if not more, anywhere in the city centre but this just better - definitely my new go-to.

Popped in for a quick Sandwich. No indoor seating and was raining outside so we took away. Fantastic fresh baguette with a great choice of fillings. Highly recommended.

What a lovely sandwich bar, lovely staff, quality produce and beautifully clean. My only criticism £3 for a bacon roll and a coffee is too cheap. 😀

Este hotel es una joya escondida! Esta independiente tiene el personal super agradable, una gran selección de comidas para elegir. Además de la habitual, tienen aceitunas, uvas pasas y tomates (que me convenció). He intentado casero cordero y menta scotch huevos, que era excelente. Todo a un precio muy razonable para el centro de la ciudad. ¡Muchas gracias! ¡Volveré!

I work in the centre of Cardiff and believe it or not, there's lots of places to go for a meal but not many places to grab a quick bite, but quay street definitely filled the gap. I usually go to a rival just around the corner but with their standards and customer service slipping I ventured to a new eatery through a recommendation. I have to be honest I'm glad my friend told me to try a new place. I bought a wrap, drink and crisps under the meal deal for £5. Everything is made fresh on site and is really reasonable. To top it all off I had a lovely chat with a lady behind the bar, even though it was a busy lunch I was made to feel welcome. I have a feeling this is my new favourite express eatery in Cardiff.

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat. Staff very friendly and helpful. Exciting choice of fillings and bread. This is more than just a sandwich bar however. We sat outside and thoroughly enjoyed what we purchased. Excellent value.

I have visited the place a few times and i really appreciate the freshness of the food that is on offer. The sandwiches are made to order and the quality of food is very high. All the staff that work there are very friendly and aim to make whatever you want. If you are looking a for healthy alternative this would be ideal with sandwiches, baguettes, salads and omelettes all on offer. Just make sure you get here before 4.30 as choice is more restricted later in the afternoon. Although, I walked in at about 4pm and was recommended the beef + caramelised onion baguette, very tasty and i will be having it again! Great for lunch, and cheap for students! I highly recommend it and will be visiting again.

If you want great, varied food with friendly service then make sure you call by Quay St sandwich bar. It is a small, independently owned sandwich bar offering a wide variety of food...sandwiches, paninis, soup, omelettes, salads, sweets and even gourmet scotch eggs. The food is served fresh by the lovely staff either to takeaway or eat in (or outside in the sun). They also do a great Gluten free menu. Only two minutes walk from both Cardiff Castle and the Millenium stadium, so make sure you visit!

The board of baguettes, panninis, wraps and rolls give you an idea of what's available, but the ladies behind the counter were very accomodating to my fussy nature. They made my baguette exactly as I wanted it and all the ingredients were fresh, colourful and tasty. They had a 5 star food hygene rating as well, which is a bonus. Not the easiest spot to find, though the bright green exterior made it stand out. Glad we spotted it.

The variety of lunch is incredible, not forgetting the breakfast menu. There's something for everybody whether vegetarian, vegan or gluten intolerant. Home made, fresh food. Wraps, rolls, panini's, salad boxes, jacket potatoes, soups, burgers. The staff were very welcoming and were willing to cater just for me. Good prices, delicious food made in a clean and tidy environment with happy faces all around! :)

Lovely little independent sandwich shop. Very fresh food and good coffee, all served with a smile. I will be returning!

This little sandwich shop sells much more than just sandwiches! Salad boxes, soups, cakes, GF, Panini's the list goes on. I was able to pick and chose any ingredients I wanted to make my perfect baguette! I will be back, thank you Quay St

This was a great find especially if you don't want the eat a snack from a 'chain' sandwich bar.the chicken, roasted vegetable , cheese and sweet chilli panini is my favourite.Eaten here many times on our trips to Cardiff. Perfect also if you are off to the Millenium Stadium as its very near.Would recommend every time !
