I bet the locals keep this place quiet - it's a little gem. It's light, modern and clean with plenty of seating. The cakes are beautifully artistic and delicious. The portions are generous and prices very reasonable. So glad we stopped by. What a lovely place (but don't tell anyone 😉)

Called in without a reservation and had a lovely Sunday lunch. Both beef and the vegetarian option were very tasty. Prompt service and the log burner kept the place cosy and warm. Well worth a visit.

We have been a few times recently- to buy plants and have a cuppa whilst there - good tea and coffee, the scone was the best I have had in a long time. We decided to try the Sunday lunch today - excellent value for money. Lovely food, fresh food and freshly cooked. Plenty of good gravy and very tasty. My only “moan” is some carrots would have been nice with the lovely mixed greens and the strawberry parfait should have been defrosted.. wouldn’t stop me from going again though! Da iawn!

I’ve been here alone and with friends it serves excellent cake and good coffee. I’m going to try lunch soon and I’m sure it will be as tasty as the cake.

Wow! What a hidden gem! The Sunday lunch was amazing and the desserts mouth watering. There were eight of us and the food arrived at the sane time hot and delicious! Combine that with lovely staff, very reasonable prices, plus a great garden centre next door to stroll around and it's a perfect Sunday afternoon.

Throughly enjoyed Sunday lunch here today, with a lovely garden centre to browse through. Staff were lovely and food was great. The place was clean light and realxed, with very reasonable prices. Having cougette amongst the mixed green veg- made for a very nice change. Meat was thick, plentiful and tasty. Beautiful gravy and good choice of sides. The desert of chocolate mousse was simple, homemade and tasty. As was the brownie with ice cream. The large cake selection also looked amazing. Highly recommend and looking forward to returning for afternoon tea one day as it looks very good.

Stunning Sunday roast, melt in your mouth beef with Yorkshire pudding, fresh veg and the most wonderful roast potatoes ever. Would recommend booking on a Sunday but their afternoon tea and cakes looked superb. Adjacent to to garden centre so would advise visiting both at the same time. Choice of 1, 2 or 3 course menu.

We went for afternoon tea having booked via Facebook , and were pleasantly surprised by the welcoming room with its roaring fire. It was very bright and cheerful. The service was excellent. Our tea arrived and looked wonderful and tasted it too - from lovely fresh sandwiches to exquisite tasting homemade cakes. This was excellent value - we will be going back for more . We also had a lovely walk around the garden centre afterwards too

During our stay at Grove of Narbeth, the highlight of the visit was the seven course taster experience at the Fernery. After being warmly welcomed by Luke, offered drinks, we were seated in the plush restaurant, and the delights followed. The dishes, the craftsmanship, the ingredients (the chef is obviously a genius), the enthusiasm from all the staff describing each dish, their sommelier Cathryn's expert choices and advice - was about as perfect as any taster experience we've enjoyed. Each course was presented beautifully, the choice of ingredients varied in a way that wasn't at all repetitive. The "Grove Vegetables" following fresh breads was immediately impactful with freshness and wonderful kale sauce with hints of seaweed. For "The Love of the Sea" with lobster on a tomato base again fresh, light and so tasty - as well as beautiful. And on it went with Sea Bass and a Beef dish to die for. Just outstanding presentation and flavours. As we moved towards dessert we were presented with “Farmesan” a cheese a hard Welsh cheese that resembels Parmesan - aged for over 3 years. They aerate the cheese with cocoa butter and serve with a pepper sorbet and black olive. Just wow. And to finish "Hedgerows", a delightful dessert so multi-layered it's hard to describe. The overall flavour seemed to present Christmas and carrot cake on a bed of meringue. What's not to love? In conclusion, probably the finest taster menu we've ever had (and we've had quite a few). Mostly because of the menu, ingredients, execution, presentation and, of course, taste. But also because of the team - from the maitre d, to the sommelier, to the procession of smiling, enthusiastic waiters. Simply superb. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This pub I know well for it's food, service & reputation. We recently visited since the new ownership has taken over, what has happened? It was like walking into a different pub ! Menu changes with none the favourites on there like the famous lamb shanks gone ! We expected some changes the food we had was ok the service was OK it put me off to see 3 waitresses chatting away on several occasions behind bar. The atmosphere has changed too maybe no attentive chat like when previous owners were there. Sometimes we have to look back at all the fabulous customer service that it had and wonder how they did it with great passion.

The fish was cooked to perfection, with a light, golden-brown batter that was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside

We visited Charlie’s Restaurant for the very first time yesterday and it certainly didn’t disappoint. As soon as I walked in I felt instantly ‘at home’ .. the beautifully designed decor was not only a feast for the eyes but felt incredibly cosy too. With it being December it was dressed for the season, with two beautiful Christmas trees adding to the festive vibe. We had Sunday lunch .. my husband and grandson had the beef and I opted for the chicken. The ‘Molly Parkin’ parsnips were absolutely gorgeous and made the perfect accompaniment to our meals .. which were all absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend this delightful little restaurant! Claire Goodchild
