Never had a bad meal! The seeded toast is beautiful and warm unlike what's wrote on other reviews, the bacon was still oinking, but I'm not a massive fan of bacon.

Terribly slow service unless of course your a friend of the blonde lady with glasses serving at 10.30 am 19/1/24 and you want to chat about things . I have to be honest , I didn't like the way she served a young guy in front of the blonde lady in front of me . When he asked for a pasty she seemed to find the way he asked to be amusing and smirked at the blonde . When he left she started to serve this lady but stopped put her elbows on the counter, cupped her face in her hands and started to have a full blown conversation. Then it appears as your a friend you get free extras oh and don't forget a blank collectors card that she'll fill up for you while you wait . I turned around to the guy behind me who looking at me raised his eyes and I said loud enough to be heard . '' Maybe we should have a conversation about how our day is going and pass the time while we wait '' . Eventually it was my turn to be served with a spitted '' Yes '' ? Really not a pleasant experience in my opinion and I'm sorry I stopped at this branch .

My mother and I decided to go out for food. The food was excellent, and our waitress Shannon went above and beyond. She was completely run off her feet but was attentive to every single customer we could see from our table! Well done to this young lady!!

After doing some shopping, it was great to take a seat in the cool, calm inside of the pub. We enjoyed a drink before ordering our food. Unfortunately, there was a family group who were very loud and disruptive, we were thinking of moving tables but thankfully they were nearly finished. We were impressed by the staff, as the group were obviously out to cause trouble but the staff remained calm and polite. We enjoyed our meal despite the group's attitude and continued to be impressed by the staff. The group, not surprisingly, complained that the food was disgusting and inedible, despite there being very little left. Again, the main staff member was calm and polite, my husband was prepared to step in as a witness, if necessary but he kept everybody calm. It was a lovely couple of hours.

Felt so sorry for the front line staff here who in one case was driven to tears from the number of complaints and angry customers she was fielding. What a poor management team who run this place, they should be ashamed of themselves to leave staff in these situations, absolute incompetence. Items missing from meals, very long waits all for below average food. Looks like they use table service to keep the numbers down as the kitchens can't cope. Very poor indeed. I doubt the management gives a toss captive audience and all that. Just look at the ratings this place has and give it a wide berth. Just go somewhere off the camp, you will not regret it. At least you won't have dodgy guts after.

Perfectly decent for a chain pub. Two nations for £18 makes it good value, with kids meal deals. We fed a family of 6 for less than £10 a head with drinks. It's definitely the kind of place where you're better off on the grill because that's what they do most regularly.

£3.60 for parking is too steep for a dirty gravel car park, only popped in for a coffee and some lunch. Excessively long queue for the till and coffee, which was made by two slow baristas with around 15 people in front waiting for their drinks. Food order took a while to arrive but did arrive hot. The setting is really nice and has so much potential but parking and service / waiting times need improving significantly

Called here last week on an extremely hot afternoon. My partner Alison and I were greeted by Erin who was behind the bar.We chatted briefly about the warm weather. She took our drinks order and offered us a glass of water with ice which we gratefully accepted! We didn't stay long but Erin's friendly smile and great service made our day.Thank you Erin.

Having had a less than successful meal, I left a review on Google. I told nothing but the truth and did not embellish the details. The reply from the 'manager' was so far from the truth, it was unbelievable! I won't make the same mistake again. The Crown opposite is owned by the same company but the meal I had there, the day before was fine. The best way to improve standards is to refuse to pay, you are within your rights to only pay what you think a meal is worth. I paid them £10, which was generous.

Didn’t bother to order, rip off prices for starters, uncovered Welsh cakes on the counter for everyone to sneeze over, tempting tatt for sale in the doorway, little one was sad we didn’t purchase it! Nice spot but that was all

When you order a ‘Chocolate and salted caramel fondue sharing platter’ as a desert, you expect fondue do you not? Maybe it’s just me but what I don’t expect is a pot of chocolate ice cream sauce and a pot of strawberry ice cream sauce? This is not FONDUE. Nor is it salted caramel for that matter of fact. We were extremely disappointed having paid £12.49 to receive such a lame version of what looked a scrumptious picture on the menu. Rest of the food we had was ok to be fair, nothing to shout about but what you’d expect, but this was such a let down that I have no choice but to mark you right down.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear, I was taking some friends from Canada all around Snowdonia to see the sights and experience Welsh hospitality. Being welsh myself I am incredibly proud of my country. Sadly the cafe at the top of the horseshoe pass was closed, where I explained that I always get friendly service with plain wholesome food. It was 19.30 and sadly not many places were open on our journey back from the very North of Wales. I had passed here many times and couldn't believe our luck that it was open.....that is where our excitement ended. I was in pain from the walking and driving to and fro, and so my friend went in to enquire if they were still serving food. "we shut at 8" came the reply. So they quickly beckoned me in and order we did. To say that the middle aged female serving would turn milk sour was an understatement. We ordered plaice and chips....there were three of us. "we only have 2 fish" came the surly reply. Ok we will have the steak and ale pie and the 2 fish please we said. No acknowledgement, no please or thank you, so extra loudly I said "Diolch yn fawr cariad"hoping that she would at least give a smile if she was a fellow welsh person. Nope, not a crack. I immediately thought of a female Basil Fawlty. "are you sitting here or in the restaurant part" she enquired in a "I wish you would go away" kind of tone. So taking the initiative we moved into the restaurant area, where another group of Americans attempted their ordering.....poor things we thought. Out came the fish and chips (clearly frozen beforehand, but fair play they were cooked well and frankly cardboard would have tasted good, as we were very very hungry). The Pie....well, it was obviously again taken from the freezer. Which to be honest I get that, you cannot rely on custom so fresh would be impossible to achieve. BUT, that does not give the excuse for being miserable and downright rude. My visitors had not experienced this for the whole of our trip and have been greeted by my fellow welshmen with interest and friendly chat. I would avoid this place like the plague, I certainly will not be bringing foreign visitors again and suggest that maybe the staff attend some training on customer relations. It costs nothing to smile and be polite for me "manners maketh man". No wonder the place looks run down, if you treat customers like this then word will get around. Give up now, put it up for sale and sell it to someone who is interested in making some money as I am fairly sure people would flock around if you were a little cleaner and friendlier.
