The best restaurants serving British food in Gwynedd North Wales

Very nice and friendly very clean and our food was lovely thank you see you again

Had the normal swellies breakfast but disappointed with the quantity you got for £10 . One sausage, not much bigger than a chipolata, two tiny rashers of bacon, one egg, beans and a tiny portion of mushrooms. Toast was a pound extra(I didn't bother) With a coffee it was £14.95. Perhaps I should have gone for the captains breakfast. In most cafe's I find the bigger breakfast a bit too much. The service and quality were excellent though. I'll go back and have the captains breakfast next time.

We were welcomed into Plas Dinas by a lovely young man and shown into the beautiful drawing room. We were served a delicious taster of mushroom and ginger consommé, followed by delicious canapés and pre dinner drinks. After selecting our menu choices we were escorted to the cosy dining room. Each course was presented beautifully, the intensity of flavours just wonderful. We particularly enjoyed the surprises of flavour combinations, e.g sorbet with fennel pollen, just wow! The lamb was cooked to perfection as was the plaice. The whole evening was comfortable, the staff quietly attentive without being intrusive. The environment was elegant and calm. I’m looking forward to returning to Plas Dinas for another excellent experience.

The two male owners are the most delightful people; friendly, efficient & welcoming hosts. The ambience is first-class, & breakfast was fantastic. This is a gem. Parking is tricky, but with some jockeying can be accomplished quite easily. We had a brilliant stay there.

Came here for valentines and weren’t disappointed. A small menu but in our experience that increases the chances of the food being fresh. Portions just right, service on the whole was very good although one member of staff was a little off that didn’t detract from the experience. Excellent food and a nice drinks choice.

Fantastic place amazing host 1st class all round

While traveling around Wales, I visited many hotels. Despite the 3 stars, this hotel is better than many. New room, smart TV, everything is clean and tidy. In the shower there is shower gel, shampoo, and a lighted mirror. It looks worse from the outside, I didn't expect such a renovation. Beautiful view of the lake. I recommend!

Run by lovely people with a great atmosphere.

Dined here with a group of 10 on the last day of a fantastic weekend away. All of us thoroughy enjoyed our meal, service was excellent and very welcoming. Best restaurant in the area, highly recommend! Best ever, PL!

Absolute treasure of a restaurant in this little village. Very thoughtfully-prepared menu, including great vegetarian options, and well-curated drink selection. The butternut soup changed my life. Can't recommend highly enough.

For starters, the chipotle chicken wings were huge and the best we had ever had. The lamb taco was full of lamb and was very tasty. For main, the lamb suet pudding and the tagine with added chicken were both immense. Couldn't manage a pudding! We highly recommend this restaurant.

Called at the Y Wal without a booking the kind waitress found us a table for 2. Black pudding with goats cheese and chorizo starters extremely tasty best black pudding I ever tasted . Tropical pizza to share was equally as good Very professional and polite staff . In fact it was that good I went back for breakfast Sunday morning excellent. Highly recommended
