Tried Pili Papas for the first time today for lunch and experienced high quality, high value, delicious food and drink. I would highly recommend. I had the Welsh rarebit with crispy bacon, which is served with a lovely side salad, it was absolutely delicious. My husband has homemade quiche with chips, which also came with a huge side salad. The portions are generous, the value is amazing.

Lovely atmosphere, attentive, friendly and efficient staff, very generous servings with obviously very fresh good quality ingredients. Unfortunately we were sat opposite the cake display, so although full after a huge panini and chips, ended up also ordering carrot cake which was also delicious, but needless to say, blew the diet/avoiding overeating completely ( but well worth it!!) Will definitely be returning soon.

When visiting the park with my family, we decide to take advantage of their café offering. A lovely day, we preferred to eat outdoors but didn't expect to find the cafe was geared up to this. No problem, we could eat off their entire menu which was packed into individual (environmentally friendly) containers enabling us to enjoy the good weather as we ate. Sandwiches with side salads, quiche salad, even sausage roll with beans were all in our order and we thoroughly enjoyed them out in the open air.

We still call as often as we can and tend to have ciabattas followed by those fantastic scones. The cafe is licensed and has a great menu plus daily specials and when we were eating there last week I noted that nine different ciabattas were available. I ordered a baked potato , the meal arrived with what seemed like a microwave cooked potato - no oven baked skin, no flavour to the potato at all. The cheese filling would have covered a teaspoon. Lots of salad leaves but no coleslaw. I complained but was told I had 'spoilt' the potato by adding two small sachets of butter to add some flavour to the bland taste which was like eating a large boiled potato.

We've passed this cafe numerous times, and always ended up stopping for coffee elsewhere. Finally, we got brave and went inside...It was quiet (post-lunchtime, and all food is off the menu by then), so we settled for a sofa near the log-burning stove - which was crackling a warm greeting on a near-freezing February afternoon- and requested coffee and cake.As you'll see from some of my other reviews, this combination can, when all the ingredients are right, be idyllic; an hour I wouldn't swap for anything. Sadly, paradise is not to be found in Pili Palas. Coffee is average, cake selection is poor, and quite dreary... the cakes in the flesh are undercooked and underwhelming. Hospitality and general atmosphere also score a very 'average'...What's missing (apart from your reviewer, who won't be returning) - and this is very subjective - is a touch of continental flair. Google listing says it all when it describes Pili Palas as an 'English cafe'. There are Welsh cafes and Italian cafes and Belgian cafes not far from here, all with their own twist, that little hook that ensures your return.Certainly, they make sure there's no need, nor excuse, for a dull coffee in Gwynedd.

Chips and peas ewere ok but the fish was exactly the same shape and dimensions of my partners. Closer examination suggested more than strongly that this was not fresh cod fillet but multi pack frozen portions al la Birdseye, Tesco or Youngs. It was ok and edible but not at £6:95. Shame because I was looking forward to a nice piece of fish. Average cafe food at above average prices.

I've been here a few times over the years with my family, friends and as a couple. The food ( which consists of your usual lunchtime menu; sandwiches; chibatas; toasties; soups and so forth), is lovely and served with salad and a side of crisps, depending on what you order of course. You always get your money's worth in this little place and it's not noisy like in weatherspoons, where you can't hear yourself think let alone talk to your friends. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming and always ask if everything was okay.In short if you want a decent meal to have a catch up with your friends or family, this is definatly the place to go.

My OH and I called in for lunch on a very hot day but the interior of Pili Palas was cool and refreshing.I ordered ham and whole grain mustard sandwiches with a side order of potato wedges and my other half had a warm ciabatta filled with goats cheese and peppers. The food was lovely and presented well. The portion sizes were good. We had cold drinks with our meal.Everywhere was clean and the service was friendly.

We were a party of 10 including 4 children under 6 looking for somewhere to have an early lunch and something suitable for the children. We happened on Pili Palace by chance as it is off the main town centre but it turned out to be our good luck. The menu was varied and had very good options for children. We had a wide variety of meals between us and it was all excellent - and all very reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommended.

Had the goats cheese and peppers ciabatta with a side of chips - it was much bigger than I expected and filled me for the rest of the day :) Lovely little place for friends or couples. Friendly staff.

Called in for coffee and cakes. Took ages to be served but staff were pleasant. We sat upstairs and appreciated the heating being on as it was a cold day. The coffee was weak and we only drank it to warm us up. My dad’s iced bun was more like a rock cake. The bara brith we bought to take home was the worst we’ve ever had. Completely dry and tasteless. Best thing about this place was the clean loo. Would not return.

A wonderful find - such a great restaurant! The menu is small but wow; the choices are fantastic. The coconut chicken was perfect, roast potatoes were delicious and the beautifully cooked. As a coeliac and dairy intolerant - would definitely recommend.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening. We started with a drink on the terrace and we were given the option of eating out there too and we did. A beautiful view and a perfect spot to watch the sunset .Definitely planning on returning.

Home cooked food very nice and very reasonable prices. Been twice now and intend to go again this week. Worth a little wait as everything cooked from scratch
