Top line dining. Not cheap, but great quality. It was fairly quiet when we went so lacked buzz but others might prefer it that way.

Lovely warm welcome and service. Amazing food and drink. Will definitely be visiting again.

We were delighted to get a booking last Friday as this restaurant has been on my to do list for ages . It is tiny and cosy but lovely atmosphere . The staff are charming and welcoming . The menu is a good variety and everyone will find something they like I am sure. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Set price menu made it simple and I had understood this from the website . Many thanks for a very enjoyable evening . We will definitely come again . The Dining Room is a gem .

Took my son there for a treat as I had noticed that the menu in the window had a couple of vegan options and I thought it would be nice for him to experience vegan food cooked by a really talented chef. Si even asked whether there was anything in particular that he couldn’t eat, as he does the menus on Wednesdays so could accommodate special requests. The food was amazing, with 2 vegan options per course. We had a lovely evening and it was great for the vegan to feel like more than an afterthought. The non vegan food was equally good. So deserves his success and I recommend this restaurant unreservedly.

Absolutely lovely meal at The Dining Room. Impeccable and friendly service, great menu, extensive drinks list. Small but perfectly formed, all tables were full, atmosphere was pleasant, very conducive for enjoying the food & drinks. Never felt rushed. The service was discreet and informal, making it a very comfortable expression.

We attended for a meal whilst on mini-moon, the food was exceptional, the service was fabulous and the atmosphere was lovely and warming - we would definitely recommend. A hidden gem! Great selection of wines too. Si the chef/owner is excellent! 5* all round! :)

To Chef - give your very good ingredients a bit of love …wood pigeon needed a twist of salt plus the raspberry vinegar was lacking acidity and flavour, lemon sole was unlike any lemon sole eaten previously - hard, dry & unseasoned, and in my humble opinion sea trout skin needs to see a hot pan to get the most out of the fish… all the food was well presented and looked appetising but just missed on bringing the flavour to the table, an off night perhaps? To everyone else … a very intimate restaurant with limited tables and modern British food, so can see why The Dining Room is popular, friendly service, good wine list though would have appreciated more variety of wines by the glass but understand why in a place with 20 covers may need to limit.

We were lucky enough to book a table for the last night of our visit to abersoch at this small restaurant. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent and at £42 for 3 courses I felt it was good value for money as it was top notch. They weren't massive portions but the quality was excellent. We had sardines and smoked haddock to start followed by monkfish and lamb rump. Everything was good but my husband was amazed at how tender and tasty the lamb rump was. Baked cheesecake with blackberry compote and brie with parkin for dessert, both excellent. Husband had a chocolate old fashioned and their own vanilla gin. Both very tasty. Two lovely young ladies were serving us who were very knowledgeable. We liked the fact that there was a slight wait for the food between courses as in some places you feel rushed. We loved the concept of a small restaurant with a set menu which changes on a daily basis depending on availability of produce and we'll definitely visit again when we return to Abersoch

Fell upon this place whilst visiting the area so fortunate to get a table and rest assured it was well worth it!

I was warned to book a table for two at this place well in advance, and now I see why. A tiny, tastefully furnished and intimate restauarant (18 diners) with a fantastic selection of drinks and excellent service throughout. The menu is fixed priced for three courses. Delicious bread and olives to start and all three courses were absolutely superb. Service was attentive but not over-bearing: perfect. Book with confidence, this place deserves to thrive, as I'm sure it will.

This restaurant is small but perfectly formed. The staff are brilliant - so helpful and efficient - and the food is simply sublime. We had a lovely evening.

Had a very lucky step into this restaurant, found it absolutely amazing. How this is not Michelin starred I don't know. Food was so amazing, so original and so tasty,huge compliments to the chef. Brilliant. Very different, and really very good food. Even the side dishes were excellent. When you keep asking “what’s in that” it must be good. Service very friendly and informative. We were lucky to get in as apparently a 2-3 month waiting list and they had just had a cancellation

The most difficult thing to do in a restaurant is to be consistently good every time, especially when margins are slim and you can't afford the extra staff. This is essentially a one man operation which means there is a wait between courses - which is not a problem. The food is very good. The staff are excellent, the atmosphere is nice and its a hugely enjoyable privilege to eat there. Long may it continue.

Felt like being in somebody’s dining room and it was lovely. 4 courses and everything was perfect and really can’t fault a thing. Teenage son wasn’t really looking forward to it as would have preferred a burger!!! But he loves everything and is now raving about the menu. Two young staff waiting on were so friendly and helpful. What a gem. Well done to the whole team. And don’t be put off by the price as it not costly compared to other places in Abersoch and wine list is well priced. We will definitely be back.

Great breakfast and love tapas night

I've been wanting to eat here for years. Happily in North Wales in May, so treated my group to a birthday meal here. We started with Dark and Stormy cocktails. Delicious. I had mackerel followed by r Trout and finished with a chocolate torte served with a blood orange sorbet. Other diners had the hake (yes, i had food envy), the lamb, plaice with samphire. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dishes. Amused to see sliced radish in a dish with olives and the famous focaccia. Service was lovely. The front of house staff were relatively young and a wee but giggly but absolute professionals. I asked for a wine recommendation and was delighted with the Austrian wine presented. Family local to here agree it's good. Small number of covers, maybe 20ish. We sat at 8 and vacated around 10.15. Booked a local taxi firm to get there and back. Would thoroughly recommend

We were a group of 7 celebrating birthdays. We had the 3 course dinner & it was superb, the plaice was a big hit & the veggie option was thoroughly enjoyed. As part of the 3 courses we were served complimentary bread & olives to start. The staff were really pleasant, the overall vibe was relaxed dining, with top notch food. Highly recommended

Hidden gem of fine dining and well worth a visit. You will have to book in advance as there is no way of getting a table otherwise, particularly in high season.

A little tired looking from the outside but food was vibrant and delicious: a meal I will never forget. Woodpigeon breast on a beautiful puree: then pan-fried sea bream on crushed potatoes: stunningly good. Wines were top class. The staff were lovely and helpful. We cannot wait to go back. A gem of a restaurant and I felt privileged to eat there.

You need to book in advance. The Dining Room is only open Thu,Fri, Saturday's and only has about 20 covers. Small and Cosy, lovely staff, your table is for the whole evening . The price is £38 per person for 3 courses . You have a choice of starters,mains & desert's. The menu changes daily with imagination and passion for good food. Everything including wonderful bread, desert's & chocolates are all home made A truly gastronomic delight !

We visited recently for the 1st time: dinner for two. I had pigeon with cauliflower purée and bramble sauce. A stunning combination cooked perfectly. Main course of sea bream with shrimp sauce + vegetables. For dessert, figs and honey: superb. I had the Corvina red wine: fabulous. Staff were lovely and helpful. My wife’s meal was mackerel starter, monkfish and panacotta for dessert: she loved the food. A gem of a restaurant and we can’t wait to go back. Value for money : remarkable. 👌

A lovely, small, independent restaurant, that does it's own gin!! These are offered as aperitifs prior to the food. The menu offers 6 choices of starters, mains and desserts, a three course meal for £35. Excellent value, and the food is wonderful. Never had a bad meal here, in all the years I've been going.

Small, friendly restaurant in the centre of Abersoch with what has to be the best food available in the town. Starters were potato cake with smoked hake and lava bread hollandaise, fish cooked perfectly, potato cake crisp and the sauce....yum. hubbys starter was chicken pate...

Intimate venue, with amazing food and service at terrific value, 3 courses £30. Currently with only 16 covers (stylish plexiglass screens between) it’s essential to book early. Highly recommended.

Another fantastic meal at the Dining Room which we try to do when we come down to Abersoch as a treat and a treat it was. Ticking every box they could for Covid we sat at our naughty corner table and immediately attended by a happy waitress who popped a cute carafe of water with fresh mint on the table and asked what would we like to drink, I asked for a slim line tonic which came with plenty of fresh lime and very thoughtfully some juniper berries (at last somebody who cares about the non alcoholic underling drink), my partner opted for a glass of Vialla Sangiovese Rubicone My partner had prawns with pearl barley & squid ink risotto, I had the Wild mushroom parfait, hazlenut, roast garlic, pickled mushrooms .. both were incredible. Mains; my partner had Ox cheek, carrot puree, tenderstem, red wine, rosemary and I had Hasselback roast squash, watercress pesto, walnut, curd both utterly amazing, Si most definitely sprinkled his magic over the squash - how anybody can make squash taste so beautiful I have no idea I just wish I could replicate it at home . . i'm going to have a try. Taste buds a dancing we went on to pudds, a dark chocolate torte with stem ginger ice cream and Coconut parfait, blackberry compote which lasted only seconds i'm afraid to say. Hats off to you all at The Dining Room you are by far the best restaurant on the peninsula. PLEASE RESPECT LOCAL BUSINESSES AND DO NOT' BOOK AND NOT SHOW' it is shabby and rude and could put a small local restaurant out of business. Thank you Si

This restaurant had good food although the portions were very small. The Cullen Skink was lovely but it was hardly a proper bowl of soup. The girls who were serving were lovely and wanted to do their best, however, nobody had told them how to make liqueur coffees properly so we got very small tea cups of coffee, with the liqueur in them (once I had told a rather horrified looking girl that the liqueur had to be put in the coffee - we were going to get them separately); and there was no cream. The girls did their best but they need a bit of tuition on certain things - they were lovely girls though and were very helpful and polite. It would have been nice to be asked if we wanted further drinks or napkins or if we needed anything else. The light in the restaurant was rather dark so one of our party couldn't see the menu so we had to read it to him. I did think the bill was a bit steep for what we had - £134 for 3 of us. Nevertheless, we had a nice evening and we would definitely return.

Our first visit to a restaurant for sime time due to the current coronavirus pandemic, but a welcome return with friends to The Dinning Room. The food was first class again, special mention to the slow cooked beef loin and the fabulously indulgent chocolate tort.However what we were especially impressed with was how seamlessly the dining room have taken to current conditions, the wonderful waitresses made us feel welcome and at ease from behind protective masks, cleaning throughout the evening seemed thorough and the space felt calm and safe. As I say, we are not first time visitors to the restaurant but sadly having experienced less conscientious conditions elsewhere during our stay I felt their approach was worthy of note.

What a lovely little restaurant! The staff were friendly, the food was amazing, the wine and beer was good, we not rushed and it was reasonably priced for the quality of food. What more can I say!

New Years Eve fabulous food, a group of 11 of us dined here on New Year’s Eve. The food was amazing, unbelievable to think under the pressure of the biggest night of the year one single chef could single handedly, create such an amazing menu , that came out hot, fresh and tasty ! With the help of the friendly waiting staff we had a great night. Would definitely return again , was in two minds to write this review as it’s difficult to get into Abersoch restaurants at the best of times but now the secret is out ! And The chef Si deserves all the recognition . Fabulous !

Pleasant staff and the pig cheeks I had and Welsh rump steak were cooked nicely and tasty but only a tiny amount of vegetable on plate ( broccoli was £3.00 extra). I think for the price and given they aren't VAT registered, they could have pushed the boat out a bit to provide more to eat. I'm normal size male at about 80K and it just wasn't enough. My wife is only 8 stones and petite but the portion of fish she had was minuscule and even she was feeling peckish even after the dessert . When we got home we had cheese and crackers!!

The food is always remarkable with something for everyone, including a delicious vegan options Everytime. The setting is really intimate but the atmosphere is good for groups as well as couples. Would highly recommend if you're after a well thought out and executed meal in abersoch.

Great Atmosphere, however I'm not convinced the quality of the wine on offer matches the quality of their food. I definitely think there is room for improvement. Also they need to watch that the level of customer service doesn't drop off towards the end of the evening, anyone having a dessert should be setup with a fork and spoon by the staff and cutlery should not just be put on the table to passed round by the customers.

Family of five of us (all adults) visited for a big, round, birthday last Friday and had a wonderful evening. Beautifully cooked and presented food, and good value considering the quality. Nice ambience to the place and good, well-paced service, and a couple of nice little touches for the birthday girl :) Highly recommended, and impossible to find fault. Many thanks.

We've been coming to Abersoch for nearly 20 years and this is the first time we have been and want disappointed b what a fantastic tiny restaurant. Beautiful food and drink. Definitely recommend, but book well in advance, it's very small and not open all the time.

Great food and a lovely atmosphere. Good to find a place where the music was subtle and didn't drown out conversation. The innovative food combinations were fab.

Ambiance is definitely lacking - (bright white light bulbs hanging from ceiling )- but the food is very original & excellent . Fish with beetroot & blackberries- superb . Lamb is always good here .

Great night. Started with a beetroot gin then into amazing three courses of food, each one brilliant, all with distinct flavours, especially the Welsh lamb with a side of green vegetables. Bill came with delicious homemade chocolate, mmmmm. Thank you Si & team.

A very busy night in this small dining room but the staff were calm and on top of it the food was beautifully cooked well presented and served with a smile.

From the outside this little restaurant looks very much like a small, unassuming tea room, but in reality it is a high quality restaurant and by far the best food we have ever had in Abersoch and up there with the best in the UK. The dining room is small, but cozy with friendly and helpful staff.Great value for money and the wine list was also a refreshing change and had been obviously hand picked. I took the time to speak with the chef and was so impressed with the kitchen as well as the food. This is a gem of a place and cant wait for our next visit.

Had an evening meal on a Thursday night, and good to see the place was full. It is fairly small, but just about enough room for everyone. Sad to see the specials board has gone, but the menu seems to change fairly often which kind of makes sense.

Just love this little gem of a place!! We have a meal here every year when we visit our friends who live nearby & have done since they first opened. The food & service is outstanding. Excellent variety of wines available & their own gin infusions are something special! It is a small, relaxed, very unpretentious place. Food is prepared/cooked to order so if you like fast food, then maybe this isn't the place for you. Booking is essential in high season.

We had a lovely meal here back in May, think they had a busy night as some people had turned up a day early but they fitted everyone in and the service was great. The food was all delicious and having been following them on Twitter for a while it was great to finally taste it all. Highly recommend.

Had a really fantastic meal at The Dining Room. The food was really nice with a great combination of flavours and perfectly cooked fish. We are pescatarians so we were delighted that there was such a good choice for us for both the starters and the mains courses The desserts were lovely too. Service was friendly and attentive but not rushed at all and so we both enjoyed 3 relaxed courses rather than feeling too full after two quick courses. Nice choice of very reasonably priced wines too.

I think we were given the last table in this very small but very popular restaurant in the middle of the village.

Came here for dinner, precooked as only a small intimate place with one sitting per night. Gorgeous meal, superb quality, staff friendly and knowledgeable, alcohol list extensive. We had cured rescues for bass and monkfish cheek to start (both superb but monkfish had the edge), for mains we had the cod and the plaice with sides of carrots, kale and beans, fish was stunning and would highly recommend the plaice, for desert milk ice cream with gin espresso WOW! and a choc torte, honestly couldn’t fault anything, would come again if in Abersoch and would recommend. Please note this resturant does not accept children.

Long wanted to visit. Well worth the wait. Most highly recommended. All aspects of source were so perfectly thought through. The cuisine style excelled and consistently so. The ambiance relaxed. The service cheerful and timely. So relaxing and one of those special occasions that you just want to revisit over and over again.

Came here with my wife and brother and had a fantastic time eating wonderful food and drinking amazing gins! Very easy to find, it’s reminiscent of sitting in someone’s house and the service is very homely. Local food cooked perfectly and didn’t feel rushed to get out as they only have one sitting per table per night. Definitely will return.

We ate here last night, it was lovely. The menu is short but very classy, rich and indulgent food.

We were looking forward to trying this restaurant and had high expectations looking at the menu. The starters were lovely but really tiny portions. As we only ever have a starter and a main this didn’t fill us with hope. The main courses were nicely cooked and presented but again on the small side. We were very glad we had ordered two sides of vegetables, but to be honest I don’t think you should have to. New potatoes come with all mains but they really were bland and unseasoned. Carrots were allegedly roasted but didn’t seem to be. Both of us left the restaurant still hungry and contemplated going across the road for fish and chips! (well maybe not quite) We were very grateful we didn’t order what the table next to us did. Looked like a small plate of mushy peas with feta cheese on top! Another problem was the waiting on staff; although they were pleasant they spent a lot of time in a room at the back and we had to try and catch them to ask for more water.

We stayed for a week in Abersoch and ate out each evening. On Thursday we ate at The Dining Room, and it was by far the best meal of the week. The food was cooked to perfection and so tasty, the presentation was fabulous and the service was great.

Came here on Friday night for a meal, fabulous atmosphere, tables talk to each other due to size of place, superb service - quick and very friendly. Food was delicious, I always end up trying new things here. Had the pigs cheeks starter which was so tender it melted in the mouth, then the lamb for main, again totally delicious.

Came here for the first time, have to say that it was a really great experience. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were lovely. The menu had great choices and all 3 courses were absolutely delicious . Some people have commented that the portions are small, I’d tend to agree, however I was completely satisfied with my meal and wouldn’t have wanted any more, there’s nothing worse than feeling totally stuffed after a meal, so I’d say in general the size of meals was just about right ! Well done to this little gem of a restaurant, such good value and good quality, I can’t wait for the next time, thank you !
