We were staying close by for a walking holiday. The pub was cosy and very friendly. The pizza nights were excellent too on a Wednesday and Friday. We were made so welcome by the great landlord and hope to come back again

Being made aware that our food might take longer due to staff shortages, we were impressed with the excellent service and delicious food.

A delightful spot next to the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal with outside seating and a childrens play area. They make it very clear that the car park is free to customers and inside ta large notice reminds you to register your car. The Sunday roast selection was ideal and a vegan option was provided. Service was quick and friendly with food in good portions and well cooked at a fair price. Plenty of seating and comfy chairs. Good welsh beers on tap.

First class fish and chips and great real ale. New owners and a new chef. Ticks all the boxes! New owners and a new chef. Very promising

We only stopped for a quick nonalcoholic drink and a bowl of chips, but the staff were polite and efficient, the chips were very good indeed! The place was clean and tidy, including the toilets. There is an outside area, but parking spaces are limited right outside, and limited to 1 hour only, but there is a large car park in easy walking distance.

Tried to eat there first night, 8:30pm arrived no greeting, we got her attention and asked where we can sit as we had a dog, she said sit where you want. When we chose our spot went to go to the bar, 8:40pm lady cleaning table informed me they stopped serving food 8:30pm, after a long journey to get here obviously hungry and disappointed we left. Tried today for lunch to be told lamb chops had run out. Which is fine I explained my disappointment and the lady was confused about not being served the night before as they stopped serving at 9pm. She did apologies but won’t be spending money here. Was so tired the night before and left to feed my 10 yr old from the spa store, so knowing this just made me angry, especially as I was hungry but the item I wanted of course had sold out today, just my luck, so out of principle won’t be trying again, not a great start to this area, not ideal but we did choose remote area. Tuesday today most things closed too 🤦🏽‍♂️🙄

Called in for lunch and were greeted by friendly staff. We had roast beef dinner and it was nicely presented and flavoursome with a very good portion of beef. Only one small criticism, it would have been good to have a steak knife to cut the thick beef slices. Very reasonably priced.

Took our daughter out for an evening meal when she was home from uni. The restaurant was busy and the staff were struggling to cope. The food was average but a good portion size and came in a timely fashion. A little pricey overall. There was no website for this pub so I couldn't have a look at the menu before arriving . The car park was full of large pot in holes.

This is the worst place we have ever been to have a Sunday dinner and we have had a few it’s not the cost although nearly £15 for a Sunday dinner what we had was poor value it was cold two small so thin pieces of beef gravy like water mash was surpose to be fluffy it was like slop had no roasters had to ask it’s just when you work hard and save to have a nice meal out and come out still hungry and disappointed we spoke to the friendly manager to be told they are told by marstons what they have to do again very disappointed
