Great very friendly staff and good choice of toasties and cakes, reasonable prices. Lots of outdoor tables some with heaters.

Just had Afternoon Tea at The Chinwag Cafe, Newmachar and thoroughly enjoyed it, itâs a definite âmust haveâ. We are very lucky to have this great cafe on our doorstep. The food is faultless (especially the strawberry tarts đ) and the staff are warm, welcoming and cheery. I highly recommend a visit, you wonât be disappointed.

Came here for Sunday lunch whilst visiting st Cyrus for the weekend after seeing the reviews of the Sunday roast. Waitress was friendly and the food arrived piping hot and the portions were huge! The roast beef was so good just melted in the mouth. The sticky toffee pudding and custard was so good aswell and all reasonably priced. Would recommended and will be back to try more of the menu when in the area.

Brae is close to home, in the village of Chapleton, between Newtonhill & Stonehaven. Popped in just before lunchtime on a Sunday, and received a very warm welcome. I was there to get takeaway goods. Both members of staff encountered were very friendly, and attended to my order in a quick & efficient manner. Hot chocolates and mochas very nice, special praise for the apple crumble cake. Utterly delicious and the dog liked it as well! đŹ Nice decor, it was also very clean. I will happily return again.

First visit here for me and my husband but our friends we were with had been before. Really lovely staff, helpful and attentive. I decided to go for the Prawn Marie Rose salad for my main course. I asked the waitress what the salad consisted of as didnât just want a mediocre salad. However, I was disappointed. My salad consisted of a larger serving of leaves the same as my husband had as a side salad for his burger, 4 long slices of cucumber, a helping of Prawns in Marie Rose sauce, a sliced beetroot, a pickled onion and a helping of grated cheese that looks the same as the bagged ready grated cheese from Tesco. All this for ÂŁ24.45. Definitely not worth the money. I wish I had gone for the steak.

We had a short but enjoyable stay at the Arduthie House. It was in a perfect location to explore the beautiful seaside town of Stonehaven. We had a stunning view of the water from our room which we loved waking up to. The beds were comfortable and the amenities were very thoughtful, tea, water and yummy shortbread cookies. The breakfast was excellent and the service was pleasant and very attentive.

Attending a funeral and just about everything handled well. Only thing I would suggest is when those not going to graveside and waiting in Lounge no Bar was visible so maybe a member of Bar staff could have had quick walk around as most were either elderly or maybe hampered with use of walking sticks etc or those not comfortable going up to a Bar to order and see if anyone wanted anything. More sales and more happy customers....

First time there while visiting a local friend. I had a steak pie and must say it was really good. Nice chunky steak pieces and full. Only just managed to save a piece for my hound. I shall be back!
