Brae is close to home, in the village of Chapleton, between Newtonhill & Stonehaven. Popped in just before lunchtime on a Sunday, and received a very warm welcome. I was there to get takeaway goods. Both members of staff encountered were very friendly, and attended to my order in a quick & efficient manner. Hot chocolates and mochas very nice, special praise for the apple crumble cake. Utterly delicious and the dog liked it as well! 😬 Nice decor, it was also very clean. I will happily return again.

Excellent coffee and great selection of very nice cakes. They make the best soups too. Lovely bright space. Have enjoyed every visit which is now turning into a weekly treat!

The Brae at Chapelton is quite simply a hidden gem. We love it. My wife and I have visited here on a number of occasions, also with my daughter and have never been disappointed with the selection of freshly prepared food on offer - delicious sandwiches, tasty side dishes, quiche, sausage rolls and lots more. A wide selection of hot and cold drinks and a salivating choice of sweet pieces. The atmosphere is always lovely and we just love what these guys are doing at Brae Chapelton, a lovely oasis that’s there to be explored and supported. See the photo of the super tasty Bhaji Salad my wife enjoyed today. Keep up all the good work Brae Team ! See you again soon. Stuart & Susan AB39

I nooked this for the start of my aunties 60th celebrations. Absolute amazing afternoon tea, can’t rave about it enough. Food was insanely good and thought out the presentation. Owners made us feel so welcome we felt like we were a part of a cosy family. Highly highly recommend!! My auntie can’t stop speaking about it!

We were among the first customers on the sunniest day in one of the North-east's bonniest villages. Staff were busy cleaning an already-sparkling restaurant, but everyone took the time to get us a great table at the window and our every request was listened to carefully and fulfilled perfectly. We had two different kinds of breakfast and - not that we were looking for this - could find no faults whatsoever. Well done that chef! I think breakfast is one of the most difficult tasks for a cook as so many things need to be just right. Well, they certainly were. My companion was impressed with the size of the teapot for one person. We've been here a couple of times in days gone by and it never disappoints.

What a great little cafe, quite hidden away, in lovely surroundings. It is part of a project to help people with disabilities to develop new skills and find employment so go along for meal or just a drink and some cake and you’ll be helping to support a really worthwhile project

Amazing place! Managed to get us seated without a booking in the evening, staff were very helping and friendly! And the food was unreal! Best place we have eaten out in Scotland! Many thanks to all the team!
