From recent reviews, we selected the Seaview for dinner last night & it was fabulous. The service was genuine and friendly and our food was beautifully presented and delicious. If you appreciate freshly prepared local food at decent prices, this place is highly recommended.

Plenty of gluten-free choices, and not the usual dull alternatives that many restaurants provide. Possibly better for gluten-free diners than gluttons - I found the portions a little underwhelming. Friendly staff and a good selection of wines.

First visit and defiantly not our last. Food was perfectly cooked and excecated. Looking forward to our next visit

Excellent food and lovely staff. Been here three times in the past few months and it’s always been faultless. Also great choice for a non meat eater. The food is slightly pricey but it’s obviously good quality food and cooked very well so worth the extra.

Really enjoyed my first visit to the Seaview. The staff were exceptional - service with a smile! Nice range of options on the menu and the food came quickly and tasted delicious! Also very reassuring to see all the measures in place for Covid. Can't wait to go back.

First time back since Covid started. Once again fantastic as always. All the appropriate measures in place, no issues with uncleanliness, as tables wiped down between customers. Staff as friendly and welcoming as they have always been. Food was absolutely delicious. Thank You Very Much

Delicious meal and fantastic gluten free options Really good menu with lots of choice and also great options for gluten free. Nice to see a good variety and not just one or 2 options. All meals were very tasty and we will definitely be back.

This was our first visit to the Seaview Hotel and it didn't disappoint. The food was outstanding and the service was great. My father-in-law was visiting from Norwich and he thoroughly enjoyed his fish & chips. We'll definitely be booking another meal again soon.Tables were well spaced out, social distancing was recognised and sanitiser offered at the entrance. All staff wore face masks and were extremely pleasant.

So glad we found this place, we ate here three nights on the trot, fantastic food and service, lovely setting, lovely staff and great chef. And all reasonably priced.

We stumbled across this place by accident, but we're certainly glad that we did. A lovely welcome in the bar restaurant, and a seat at the window with an incredible view.The menu has a very good selection of snacks and meals, all at reasonable prices, and to my Fiance's delight, almost every single one of them could be prepared as gluten free - putting most other places to shame!The service was great, the food was fresh cooked to order, the helpings were generous without being over the top, and every single dish that we had, was truly delicious - our intention to have a quick snack became a three course meal each!Our first visit there, but most certainly not our last - once we are all through the current Pandemic, we intend booking a stay there.

Went on 11/03/20 everything was just perfect, could not fault the food or the service. A wee gem on the doorstep of Peterhead, would recommend to anyone. Thanks for a great night.

Visited again after a few weeks away and must say this is a must visit location if you are in the area and looking for great food and fantastic service. A great atmosphere created by the team that work there and can't wait to return again soon. 1st class service, 1st class food and what more can anyone say apart from thanking the owner for making this such a must go to place. Well done to all involved.

Went this week with 2 friends and we all had 3 courses all of which were exceptional. The food service and drinks were amazing. Lovely tasty cocktails too.

Lovely place for a meal with excellent food and service. Great for couples on a romantic evening. Always enjoy my visit here.

Visited the Seaview for the first time at the beginning of December as a trial for Christmas Day lunch and we certainly wasn’t disappointed! The service is exceptional, the food presentation and quality is fantastic. Menus are varied. Christmas Day we returned and food and service again was brilliant. Thank you. We will be back. My family ( table of 6) were there on Saturday night and as they say up there it was awfa fine.My daughter and son in law treated us and wow a treat indeed.From start to finish service was great with just the right amount of banter and professionalism.The food well that was up there with some of the best I have tasted , I am a chef so can be hard to please sometimes but this was absolutely stunning, the Cullen skink special in particular was a special in more ways than one .We mostly had different dishes throughout and every dish looked and tasted amazing everyone was super happy .Between us all at the table we have been lucky enough to eat in some real nice places and this is right up there .Thanks and hope to see you soon

Visited yesterday with my husband and my children (7&11) We all sampled various items from the menu and all had 3 courses and I can honestly say we had absolutely no complaints. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection and presented very nicely. Lots of little extras, like the chefs tasters to begin with and the homemade flapjacks at the end, made it a real treat. The service was fantastic, really professional but also very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

We booked for one night on our North East Scotland tour. The welcome was warm and the hotel so clean and benefiting from a recent refurbishment which is finished to a very high standard.We decided to have a meal in and it was a masterclass of high quality cuisine. We both went for the Goats cheese salad to start, I followed up with chicken wrapped in bacon with a haggis stuffing, creamed mash and seasonal vegetables. My wife had the Baked Haddock Mornay with potatoes and veg. Quite full from the main, we were tempted into a special berry crumble, accompanied by warm spiced cider, creme anglais and vanilla ice cream wowowowowow !!! Taste and presentation Gregg Wallace would have thought he'd gone to heaven!!Service was top class, nothing was any issue.The rooms were immaculate.Breakfast equally as good as the evening menu except minor glitch they had run out of porridge - not a problem plenty of everything else.

or friendly and my room was spacious, modern, comfortable and immaculately clean. The best part of my stay was the bistro. I visit this part of Scotland regularly and this is by far the best food I’ve ever had anywhere in the area. Every dish I had was perfection on a plate and the presentation of the desserts was a work of art matched only by the sensational flavours. Their sticky toffee pudding was as light as a feather and tasted divine. I really enjoyed their mushroom risotto, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Since taking over the Seaview, Forbes and his team are turning out amazing food at very reasonable prices. I would highly recommend a stay or a meal at the Seaview. Exceptional.

Service was fine. Small portions for prices charged though. I went for the burger (very thin) and whilst the chips, bacon etc were fine, I could only eat a very small part of the middle of the burger as the rest of it was completely inedible. So hard I could not cut it let alone eat it. When the waitress asked if everything was ok with the food I explained why I could not eat the burger. She said she would “let him know”. No-one came to speak to us. When we went to pay the bill we were again asked if everything was ok. I reiterated apart from the burger. She said “I did let him know”. I. Am amazed that after

This has to be one of the best meals I have ever eaten, if not THE BEST!!

Service was excellent in this pretty little restaurant and we had high hopes. Sampler (amuse bouche) was delicious and along with a hot poppy seed roll was a great start. Starters good - squid was nicely cooked, Chinese style broccoli soup was nice. Main courses came and we were disappointed. Husband had breaded monkfish scampi with fries. The portion was very small for the price and was served with only some thin chips and “hot” coleslaw which means it was sat under the heat lamps too long! I ordered the pan fried halibut and out came, again, not a big portion but it all looked okay. However the fish was so over salted I couldn’t taste it. My husband tried it as I get very embarrassed complaining but even he said it wasn’t good and he loves salt! Huge apologies from the lovely waiting staff who sent it back to the kitchen. Unfortunately my husband had almost finished his meal before my new one came out. An unseasoned tail end small bit of halibut! Along with a separate pot of salt and basically told to season myself? Really? I have no idea if I was given new vegetables but let’s just say they were warm only and my mange tout were burnt.

Just stopped in for lunch on a coastal drive. Delicious foods! Our first time and hope to return for a stay sometime. Katie made our meal even more special, thanks, Katie!

Thick, beautiful Cullen skink, and desserts to die for. Great service, taste, presentation. Made to feel welcome and had a fantastic time with my family. Would definatly recommend.

Went to the Seaview last night. First time since it re-opened with friends and it was amazing!! I had the monkfish from the specials menu and it was the best I had tasted in years. Everyone was delighted with the mains and dessert. The chef did a great job. Service was excellent with no rush to leave.

We went with our daughter son-in-law and grandson who is allergic to egg and peanuts. .It was no problem at all for the lovely staff.

Excellent service and very lovely meal. Couldn’t decide what to order, so we’ll return as soon as we can to select something different from the menu, and will be sure to upgrade our rating from very good to excellent.

visited Peterhead for 1 night ,found this fantastic hotel online,first impressions were ok from the outside but inside were very good,has a car park which leads to entrance which includes a lovely outside sitting area,bar and restaurant area are very nice and well decorated ,the views over the harbour are good but it got even better when we were shown to our room ,the room was a great size decoration was modern and of a very high standard, the ensuite,was massive and the level of decoration and cleanliness was perfect one of the nicest I have ever experienced. We had lunch dinner and breakfast which again was excellent the food was well cooked and well presented and very reasonably priced . The icing on the cake was the staff and how welcoming and friendly they were.I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to visit again

I recently spent a couple of weeks in Peterhead and the Seaview was recommended to me as somewhere worth a visit for dinner. After my first meal it became my 'local' and I ate there 5-6 times. It's located in Boddam, a little village a couple of miles outside Peterhead and is definitely worth a trip. I think there's a more formal restaurant there too, but I ate in the bar restaurant.

Relaxed atmosphere, staff attentive, friendly. Food beautifully presented, complimentary warm rolls, and chef tasters given whilst the short wait for main courses, great value for money, return visit and didn't disappoint :)

Really pleasantly surprised as this restaurant has changed hands a few times over the years so we weren’t sure what to expect. The food and service however were fantastic. We will definitely be back.

Went here on a Thursday evening with my wife. The waiting staff were very friendly and courteous.

First time we have been here was at the weekend for Father’s Day and boy were we impressed!

We stopped here for Sunday dinner and we were not disappointed. The food here is fantastic quality and very reasonably priced. It was a set menu for Father's Day and 2 courses were £19.95 - what a bargain! After ordering we were presented with a little chicken mouthful from the chef that was so tasty and the honey and oat bread rolls were beautiful - the taste of honey came through so well. We both had the prawn and melon cocktail to start which was so light and fruity and a very generous serving of juicy prawns. I had chicken ballontine with a whisky cream that was like caramel in your mouth and beautifully served with mashed potato and vegetables. The chicken was succulent and the haggis light and flavoursome. My husband had the chicken and ham pie. The pastry boat was light as a feather and melted in your mouth (yes, I had a few forkfuls too!) and the crispy leeks it was served with beautifully complemented the dish. This was food to savour and appreciate. We were too full for pudding this time round but will definitely be back to sample more of the Seaview's menu in the future. We were treated with beautiful home made truffles when the bill arrived. With a pint of lager and a glass of fragrant sauvignon blanc this meal was simply gorgeous and a bargain at £50 all in. The restaurant was busy on a Sunday early evening so I would book ahead to avoid being disappointed.

We hadn't heard much about the Seaview Hotel restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. The location just down from the Buchan Ness Lighthouse was very convenient and the dinning room was decorations were nice. Dinner was quite tasty from a good menu. Service was excellent. Next time we're in the area we'll plan to stop.

I visited the Seaview Hotel this evening had the dious Sunday roast! It was cooked to perfection, great portion size and very high quality ingredients! The service was very very attentive and friendly, I am already looking forward to my next visit there, make sure you stop off here if you are in the area

Brilliant hotel, the room was excellent, the food was fantastic as was the service and the friendly, welcoming and helpful attitute of all the staff instilled a real sense of belonging. I have absolutely no reservations in recommending the Seaview to anyone.

Visited Seaview Hotel with my daughter last week and we enjoyed an absolutely delightful lunch. My daughter trained at Gleneagles Hotel for many years and she was very impressed with the presentation and quality of the food. The service and surroundings were delightful. I had no hesitations in sending a compliment to the chef on duty.

We were there for a private party. The table and staff were ready when we arrived and immediately served drinks. They had a good system for making sure we all got our pre-ordered meals. The chef sent out a delicious amuse-bouche and the rolls were clearly homemade. All our meals were lovely and well presented. The deserts were delicious too.

What a great find...excellent accommodation, first class dinner and a yummy breakfast. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

My husband and I visited for an evening meal and were pleasantly shocked at how great the meal was. We both had 3 courses and each subsequent course was better than the previous.

I visited the Seaview for some lunch with my sister! And it was utterly delicious!! You must try the goats cheese starter... i think it’s the best thing I’ve ever tasted in my life! It has such a cosy atmosphere and the staff are so attentive and friendly! I will for sure be visiting here again! Please try the sticky toffee pudding... it is to die for!!! Honestly best restaurant in the shire!!!

I recently visited Seaview with my family. The staff here are so accommodating to your needs, I sometimes find it hard to get some ‘good food’ for us veggies but the seaview food is just so delish! The Mac and cheese is soooo tasty! can’t wait to come back and try something new!!! Also had a cheeky wee Long Island ice tea which was just fab!

I recently took my mum here for an early mother's Day treat. We had the afternoon tea which was delicious. Everything was made fresh and when asked if we could adapt something this wasn't a problem. It was honestly the best afternoon tea I've ever had and we Will definitely be back.

My husband and I visited the Seaview Hotel recently and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We stayed one night there, our room was great, modern and a comfortable, its bathroom was beautifully renovated and very spacious! The views were great and the walk to the lighthouse really made our day! We had dinner and breakfast there the quality of the food and service was outstanding and I can say that the fish and chips was the best I've ever had. Can't wait to go back!!

We had visited the Seaview before and decided to return and try out the accommodation as well as the restaurant. We visited on a cold and blustery January weekend. The welcome was warm and we were shown to an exceptionally comfortable room with every need catered for. We started our evening with delicious cocktails and were then not disappointed by our meal. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable and friendly and our food exceptional. Tasty starters of soup of the day and chicken liver parfait were followed by ribeye steaks cooked exactly as ordered. We then sampled some of what the bar has to offer and had an absolutely fantastic evening in the company of our friends. Off to bed and a good night’s sleep in the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever known. Breakfast was then another treat in a perfectly relaxing ambience and it was an effort to leave.

I’m not from the area and from the outside the Seaview Hotel is quite average looking. However this all changes once you step through the door. The decor is modern and fresh and the staff are really helpful and friendly. I have been visiting this area for many years on business so have eaten in many places, the Seaview offers some of the very best food you can get around Peterhead. I didn’t have a starter but have had both the herb crusted cod and the chicken ballotine both of which were superb. The flavour of the dishes was excellent. What was nice was small extra tasters from the chef which were hugely appreciated. For desert I have tried the sticky toffee pudding and the chocolate fondant. Again both dishes were perfectly executed and brilliantly presented. I would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to visiting again in my next visit. I only wish I lived closer!!

High class meal at average price.

I have been to the Seaview Hotel Restaurant a number of times and also stayed over in the hotel. The whole atmosphere presented by the décor and staff is warm, comfortable and very friendly. This is a quaint establishment and balances the local vibe of the village with the modern expectations of a Hotel.

Boddam is very lucky to have this amazing wee place right in the heart of their village ! From the minute we arrived we were made so welcome by the staff. We had a small child with us and they did everything to ensure she too had a lovely dining experience. The food was excellent , freshly cooked, beautifully presented and all dietary requirements can be met with absolutely no hassle. I am a very fussy person but I was spoilt for choice ! Looking forward to returning very soon.

There is a varied menu, lots of choice for people with special dietary requirements. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Lots of local produce used. A great wee find!

Went for dinner with another couple, wow , food was spectacular! Beautiful presentation, excellent choices on menu ,Very reasonable priced . Although no one in our party was gluten/dairy free, the very attentive staff made us aware they had a separate menu!

The Seaview Hotel has recently reopened. Visited for lunch. It was beautifully furnished with an excellent affordable menu incorportating local produce. The staff were welcoming and attentive. I had Cullen Skunk which was delicious. My friend had fish and chiod which were beautifully presented.

We were invited as guests to launch night and couldn't fault what was an exceptional experience. The three rooms in the hotel we were allocated were all immaculately clean and equipped with everything needed for an overnight stay.

Went on a cold blustery night, was welcomed into a warm bistro with a smile. Staff were very friendly and attentive. You would never know it was there first week open as they were so professional. The menu had a good range of choices, definitely something for everyone. I chose the parfait to start and then the Chicken Ballantine, while my friend ordered the salmon timbale and the burger. While we were waiting, we received some complementary warm homemade bread, which was delicious and also a little taster from the chef. It was whipped goats cheese and walnut mousse in a little jar. Such a lovely touch. When the parfait arrived, i was not expecting it to look so good and it tasted amazing, so rich and smooth and the red onion jam, wow! The chicken was equally amazing, probably one of the best chicken dishes I have ever eaten. My friend said his burger was one of the best he had ever had too. Although I was really full, i had to try a dessert. It was a difficult choice between the cheesecake and the chocolate fondant. As a bit of a chocoholic, it was an easy decision and my oh my it did not disappoint. I savoured every mouthful, rich and gooey and the salted caramel ice cream just set it off perfectly. Although this was all a week or so ago, i still think about it, cannot wait to return. Definitely recommend.
