The best restaurants serving British food in Highlands and Islands

The food was absolutely delicious and we really enjoyed our breakfast. However, the service could use some improvement. Although there were only three tables occupied, we waited about 10 minutes without being acknowledged, and unfortunately, our cutlery was forgotten. Our toast also arrived quite late—when we were already halfway through the meal. That said, there was one staff member, a girl with black glasses, who really stood out. She seemed to be the only one actively working and doing her best to keep things running smoothly.

Travelling back from Aberdeen and not wanting to finish our first time away without our now adult children, we decided to take the West Coast route home, weather was delightful and the views splendid. Getting tired and hungry we found ourselves in Findhorn a beautiful place nect to the sea. We decided to drop into the Crown and Anchor to see if there was room at the Inn. Luckily there was so after unpacking we went down to the bar for a warm by the fire and a drink. The selection of beers and other refreshments was amazing. After a drinks we took a look at the menu and again not disappointed. We ordered and our meal came promptly. Two empty plates later we had a nightcap from the whisky selection then off the bed for a sound night sleep. The staff are excellent and friendly as are the locals. New management as Spey inn, Wow, just Sooo good ! We visited hesitantly upon previous Copper Dogg reviews read. But upon arrival we felt a charming and warm welcome greeted us by the romantic candle lit setting followed by courteous and the tastefully accomodating service given.. Whisky cured smoked trout with Salmon Caviar accompanied by haggis bon bons and bourbon glaze, not forgetting the subtle dressing of the traditional steak tartar. A culinary treat was unexpectedly spruced before us. From starters and throughout mains and deserts the experience excelled itself with accompanying wine and menu suggestions. Goat pie, burgers and Ribeye steak were all very good and we strongly recommend anyone considering to partake the Speyside Inn on their offerings, that you should. A wonderful evening was had. We shall see you next time we visit. Staff were great and a big thankyou to Oscar for looking after us Until next time !

Are here once and wouldn’t recommend but everything else is great, plenty of screens for the many sports they have on the time the and the drinks are very reasonably priced.

Il ristorante dell’hotel ha un’ambientazione calda e intima, e una buona scelta di piatti proposti. Abbiamo provato il pollo Balmoral alla Invergarry, tra gli speciali del giorno. Il piatto era ben concepito, con le polpette di haggis a parte e il pollo insaporito da poche gocce di salsa al whiskey. Con due pinte di birra abbiamo speso 61 sterline, che è comunque un prezzo abbastanza alto considerando la scarsa porzione di pollo nel piatto. Se non altro la qualità era molto buona…

We had a lovely meal here. The scampi in particular was excellent. Service was fantastic - they were great with our 18 month old, brought her food so quickly and when she wolfed it down, brought her some more! Would highly recommend.

A really warm, beautiful place. Just stopped by for coffee (which was fantastic) but there were some cakes on the bar too good to miss. They start serving lunch at 12, the menu looked interesting, so maybe next time. Also dog friendly.

On our way to elsewhere, we popped in for lunch during a downpour - well, it's the west coast! The haggis fritters sounded interesting - but they were a revelation! Absolutely delicious.

We came to The Grove today for dinner and it was a great experience. Thank you Eddie for being so accommodating. Very good food and wonderful service. If we're ever passing through again we will definitely be back.

We decided to eat a light meal at the Muthu Newton Hotel as we had traveled all night to get here. The Chaplin theme of the restaurant is really pleasant. Also, the staff was delightful. Since neither of us were really hungry, we decided to go with the soup of the day which was a Sweet Potato & Coconut Bisque. It was served with a warm roll and butter. The portion was the perfect size, and it was delicious. We decided to splurge and have dessert. I had the brownie with cream, and my friend had the sticky toffee pudding. They were both good, but the sticky toffee pudding was over the top. Really excellent. Prices were very reasonable as well.

Tasty food with a great view of Lochness. The staff are lovely and they have a good selection of whisky. Good value 3 course meal deal.

The Chillers bar and grill was excellent! The service was fantastic with wonderful staff who were friendly and attentive. The coffee and food was also fantastic, the toasties and soup warmed our bones and lifted our spirits! 10/10 would recommend if you are in the area!

We went to visit the Bears Den as the chippy in golspie was closed. However on arrival, it was closed. This wasn't mentioned anywhere on there Google page which could've been easily updated on the fly but they did not seem to do so. A 15 minute drive for nothing. I can't say anything about the food, I don't imagine it's bad but I will unfortunately not have the chance to try it due to them not managing their page properly. Not impressed!
