Bothan Bar Restaurant in Highland

The Chillers bar and grill was excellent! The service was fantastic with wonderful staff who were friendly and attentive. The coffee and food was also fantastic, the toasties and soup warmed our bones and lifted our spirits! 10/10 would recommend if you are in the area!

Had a great time up here and was taken by how friendly the event was.We met Craig who runs the bar and was very impressed by his helpfulness and a cheery guy behind the bar.We ate in here and dined well at night.the place had a good atmosphere and despite being busy food was out quickly.I would deinitely come back again ..

We visited for drinks and enjoyed the experience, we didn't have food on this occasion but the menu was interesting and if you want to have a bite to eat with your drink, you have got plenty of choice. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our visit and won't hesitate to call again.

As part of the icefactor but also open in the evenings. The bar is comfortable modern and great place to relax and chill out .

Burgers besteld. Niet voor Nederlandse smaak. Enorme hoeveelheid niet gesmolten kaas op een burger. De bacon op Schotse wijze gebakken dus moet nog even nabewerkt. De uienrelish smaakt maar maakt t boordje zacht. Overall spreekt geen liefde of aandacht uit het voorgezette broodje. Zelfs de patat kan niet boven het matig oordeel uitstijgen. Uiteindelijk heeft niemand zn burger opgegeten. Zonde van t geld. Wel goed bier.

Gute Atmosphäre im Gast-Raum, einem ehemaligen Lagerraum der Energieversorgung der ehemaligen Aluminium-Mine. Thematisch ausgerichtete Einrichtung (Britain's führendes Kletterzentrum !) mit alpiner Note (Posters, Bilder, Karten an der Wand). Es gibt auf der Speisekarte dazu passend sogar eine "Bavarian Wurst Platte" mit Sauerkraut (das sollte eigentlich gewärmt sein, was der Wirt erstmals wohl von uns erfahren hat) und drei (!) Würsten, davon eine "Curry Wurst". Ergebnis: kräftig (und) sättigend. Leckeres und reichhaltiges Essen (gute Burger!). Zu empfehlen ist das vor Ort gebraute Bier aus der Brauerei im Nebengebäude. Freundlicher Inhaber, mit dem sich auch locker plaudern lässt. Billardtisch vor Ort.

I'm walking the West Highland Way. Popped in for a pint and food after a hard day's hiking. Limited Vegan options but staff very friendly and were able to accommodate an off menu option for me, which was spot on. This place has a good vibe - but needs more Vegan meal options for the variety of walkers and climbers that pass through.

This bar was an excellent stop after a long day on the rd. Aidyn was especially helpful and friendly. If you happen to find your way to kinlochlevan def stop in, say hello, and ask for some friendly sightseeing advice.

After a long day out in the mountains.... all I felt like was a a good G&T and a smiley face to top off my evening. All the bar staff at chillers were fabulous but one chap in particular made mine and my boyfriends evening!! Aidan was friendly, helpful and funny so knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. His experience in mountaineering made for interesting conversation and made us feel comfortable and at home! Thank you so much Aidan for your warm welcome!! We will be coming back to chillers everytime we are in the area!!!

Ambiente piacevole e caratteristico. Ottime birre e wishy. Ottimo pub, piatti abbondanti e ben cotti. Menu kids completo. Servizio al tavolo con prenotazione al bancone. Tempi di attesa standard.

Un bar qui paie pas de mine mais qui permet de passer un moment agréable. Le serveur est sympa, les bières sont bonnes, la nourriture n'est pas exceptionnelle mais à un prix plus qu'abordable. On peut se faire un billard en buvant une pinte et il y a un juke-box!!!

Stayed in Kinlochleven at the Blackwater Hostel, and visited Chillers on both nights, good food at reasonable prices and decent service, the menu features basic bar meals and we were very pleased with what was on offer. Would recommend if in the area and they have music on a couple of times a month.

Even at holiday periods the bar wasn't busy, it was clean and the food looks reasonable. It does have live bands on twice a month, perhaps we just hit a quiet night!

We visit here as wanted somewhere quick and easy as was late on after a busy day Initial impression was that if a run down sports bar with a slight locker room smell to it. The pool table enternatained while we were deciding whether to eat and we were persuaded to so so by the reviews on TripAdvisor The 1 staff member working was friendly but often disappeared for periods of time meaning a wait at the bar if you needed anything On arrival of my haggis Bon bons 2 were red hot and the third frozen in the middle while hot on the outside. This was taken away and returned hot with an apology The quality of the food was not great but edible I wouldnt return even with the reasonable prices

Coming up to the end of the West Highland Way and we were running low on funds so we came here because the meals seemed inexpensive! Nice surprise when the food turned out to be absolutely amazing. Not to mention friendly staff and a good range of drinks. Great value and it turned out to be one of our favourite stops on the trip.

I was in kinlochleven to take part in a race. i visited the bar the night before to relax then again straight after the race to recover. nice service comfy seating very clean

Llegar tarde a un lugar y encontrar un sitio donde poder cenar una hamburguesa y una ensalada, regada con buena cerveza es una gran suerte en Escocia. Se trata de un Bar-Pub, donde los fines de semana hay musica en directo y donde puedes disfrutar de buenq cerveza y helados. Tambien puedes relajarte con una partida de billar. Esta situado en un segundo piso sobreel edificio de una antigua fabrica de hielo. Recomendable si andas perdido por estos parajes de Escocia.

Great staff- shame about the lack of clientele and from the couple of other customers that were there, the type of clientele. Think we may have just gone on a bad night but like I say- the guy was great and good selection of drinks.

Perfect for a drink and a bite to eat. Lovely macaroni, service at the bar was a wee bit slow, but the food came quick enough and was lovely. Good value.

This place needs to be better advertised. I only knew about it through doing a search on places to eat in the area. From the outside there was nothing to indicate they served food. Even once inside we nearly left as there was no one...

I had the chicken balti special and it was very good. The chicken was melt in the mouth. All of the group of 8 enjoyed there food. The staff where very helpful and full of knowledge about the food and wiskey on offer. The best food and service in the town

We ate one meal here during our stay in Kinlochleven and were surprised at how good the food was. And it was more than a bargain...A great chilled out place with a friendly atmosphere and very friendly staff.

My third visit to the ice factor - I was really looking forward to it, and this my first trip with my kids - they were excited too. Basically the café staff lets the place down: I ordered food. They forgot to bring it. No big deal, but when I politely reminded them (the woman threw a strop and flounced off. I told her to cancel the order (they were cleaning up the kitchen and putting stuff away) as I needed to take my kids onto the climbing wall. I had waited 30mins for the food. No apology, no offer of a refund (I paid upfront). As I was still in the building with my kids climbing, I left it another 40 mins to see if they would come and offer me my refund. They didn't. When I eventually went to get my money back there was absolutely no apology - one woman stood blaming another in front of me. My money was reluctantly handed over. What could have made it better? A simple "I'm sorry about that, here's your money back" - would have been enough for me. And it would have saved this bad review. Shape up guys.

We recently had a meal at this restaurant and I must say with all the bad reviews this place really did impress me and my standards are not low that's for sure. The meals were hot when they needed to be and served pretty fast. The salmon and rissotto was absolutely fantastic. Out of four of us no one complained about any aspect of the meal. Generous portion sizes, good tasting and a p,easing service.I would recommend a night there and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

There was not a lot open in Kinlochleven on Saturday morning, so we called in for cappucino. Watching the ice climbing was fascinating and the coffee was pretty good.There is a little sound-proofed room you can move into if the kids are being a little noisy - quite handy during school holidays!

A decent pint and good food. Nowhere else comes close in Kinloch.

This is a bar within the climbing centre known as the ice factor. The menu is very good, not your normal bar grub. The food is cooked to order so it takes a little longer but i enjoyed the chicken dish ( stuffed with ham cheese) Sorry cant remebr the name of it. would highly recommend here to eat.

I dropped in on a wet wet day and they couldn't have been friendlier, the bar is a mishmash of styles but not in a contrived way, just a bit eccentric. It has a fab wood-burning stove, very cosy and informal.The bar is inside an imndoor climbing centre, so you can look out (and down) on one side on people climbing and out on the other side across the hills through the most enourmous windows.I think it's a converted factory with huge steel beams inside. This all sounds a bit odd but you have to see it to understand what I mean. You won't be disappointed.

Was up at the climbing centre last summer and the highlight of the evening- after a good days climbing- was definetly a cold beer and a tune at the Bothan Bar. I have to say, it was great to have a licensed bar on site and this one was particularly memorable with its Alpine feel and live music. In fact, being a musican myself I was able to join in and what started as a drink with friends soon turned into a fully fledged "session" with everything from The Waterboys to Paulo Nutini being covered. A great find!Cheers!

This is a really good Bar to go into if you are either just off the Hill, or just off the Walls. Comfortable and friendly atmosphere surrounded by like minded individuals, ( these are either staff or fellow 'patrons'). There is an excellent range of food available which is just great- let's just say the portions are the way you would get at home- so you will be well stuffed- which is good! After a hearty scoff, there are frequently good local musicians on the go and should you be musically gifted, or sometimes even 'challenged' you will get your chance for a jam occassionally! Very family friendly and definitely 'mountaineer friendly'- actually- strike that- lets leave it at simply 'very friendly' Just go and see for yourself.

Popped into the Ice Factor after a wet day on the hills. We sat in the Bothan Bar at the wood burning stove and thawed out while having a refreshing pint :-)The bar is a strange, but appealing mix of a warm, modern bar with the obvious industrial heritage of the original buliding. Especially like the use of the huge roof girder as the drinks shelf behind the bar. From the viewing gallery in the bar we also watched the dry tooling competition that was taking place that day.Didn't order food, but the menu looked good with affordable prices.
