What a brilliant place! The staff are super friendly and made sure we felt right at home. The food options were tasty and accommodating as a vegetarian, there are also options for kids - my kids can be picky eaters and they absolutely loved the food here. I will surely be stopping in here next time I’m in the area!

What a lovely cafe run by two of the kindest people ever. I arrived exhausted after a cycle ride with miles still to go. They made me special gluten free rolls, I ate delicious vegan sorbet and they even defrosted a gluten free brownie to give me the energy to cycle up the hill to Inverness (and I did it)! Thank you!! Great coffee too. Small place with a big heart. Recommend 100%

Fabulous food and great service. Thoroughly recommend both the venison stew and the sea trout! Advisable to book as it’s not huge and it has a great reputation with the locals…

Visited in Jan 2025. There was no heating on all the customers were wearing coats and hats while seating and just for reference it was - 3c outside The chowder lacked flavour, the sandwich lacked filling. The prices were more expensive than cental London! Its a shame.. As its used to be great. Won't be back again

I recently had the pleasure of spending a delightful day at Dores Inn, and I still find myself reminiscing about the experience six months later. Nestled along the shores of the iconic Loch Ness, this charming inn offers a perfect blend of stunning views, a warm atmosphere, and exceptional service. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovely ambiance that sets the tone for a relaxing visit. The inn has ample seating, both indoors and outdoors, making it easy to find a cozy spot to enjoy the picturesque scenery. We opted for an outside table, and it turned out to be the best decision of the day. The views of the loch were absolutely breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for our meal. Speaking of the meal, I must rave about the food—simply sublime! I usually find coleslaw unappealing, but Dores Inn's homemade version was a game changer. It was fresh, flavorful, and complemented our dishes beautifully. Every bite was a testament to the culinary care that goes into their offerings. After our satisfying meal, we joined a Rib-Boat journey on the loch, which was an exhilarating way to experience the surroundings. The thrill of speeding across the water, combined with the breathtaking views of the loch and its mythical charm, made for an unforgettable adventure. As a memento of our day, I couldn't resist purchasing one of their handmade crochet teddies of Nessie. It's now a cherished keepsake that brings back fond memories of our visit. To wrap up our day, we took a leisurely walk along the shoreline. The tranquility of the loch, coupled with the stunning natural beauty surrounding us, was the perfect ending to a fantastic day. Overall, Dores Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. From the lovely atmosphere and great views to the delectable food and friendly service, it’s a place I highly recommend. If you're looking for an exceptional day out near Loch Ness, don’t miss the opportunity to visit this gem. I still think about that wonderful day, and I can’t wait to return!

Visited in September 2024 whilst on holiday, we couldn’t take dogs inside (fair enough) but we then asked if we could eat outside and was told no, asked if we could just get a drink outside and was also told no. What’s the point in putting tables outside? Terrible hospitality - I wouldn’t bother giving them your money, let alone my own.

We stayed at the hotel and ate at Station Road whilst there. The tasting menu 'Mor' was really out reason for staying and it didn't disappoint (neither did the hotel!). Started with a drink by the fire - a beautiful part of the hotel. Really excellent selection of drinks, nothing else you could possibly ask for. Great wine selection too, included a wide variety of British wines which is nice to see. The tasting menu started here too - with some small plates served. Creative cooking and tasty. We went for the worldwide wine pairing menu and were served a varied and interesting variety throughout. The lady serving the wines (I think maybe the owner of the hotel) was very knowledgeable and friendly - talked us through each course and wine as they arrived. The food was good, each course was different and interesting. Smoked eel and venison were delicious and stand outs for us - there was also some bread made freshly with grain native to the local areas, and the butters served with this were without a doubt some of the best I've ever tasted! The speed of service we found a touch slow - although this is very much tied to the cadence of other diners so not really a criticism. Start to finish, we were over 3 hours - so a long meal. Portions were very small (the perils of a tasting menu) and we did end the meal a little peckish! The 'Beag' menu featured similar styles of cooking but focused around some larger main dishes. Restaurant itself was beautiful, clearly a huge amount of attention to detail has gone into the whole experience. No doubt about it, it was an expensive meal - but I feel not unreasonable for the quality of cooking. Given the location, some premium on pricing is to be expected. One of the best dining experiences I've had in the North Central/East Highland, and in a beautiful part of the world. Fingers crossed for a star - well deserved for the whole team.

One of the most beautiful meals we have ever had. The 10 course taster menu was incredibly well thought out all the way though, it was clear the entire team had a passion for their product, the serving team had an in depth knowledge of all the produce and drink, proudly promoting local. Would highly recommend as a romantic treat for those special occasions.
