Bog cotton cafe in Highland

This is a wonderful peaceful spot with lovely views looking our over the wooded campsite. The cafe feels very relaxed and choices of food and drink were tasty. Staff very friendly. I just love coming here!

Had a coffee and cake here. We weren’t staying at the camp site beside it . Everything we had was very good. Saw other plates of meals being served which looked appealing. Friendly staff

Stopped in for a lunch. Great food, friendly staff and I would recommend. Good portion sizes. Nice setting and all in all I’d recommend.

We were walking the Affric Kintail Way and were running slightly behind schedule to get into the campsite in time before the Cafe shut. I made a quick call to explain that we wouldn't arrive until around 5 minutes after the closing time and they agreed to stay open late to accommodate us and made us amazing fish and chips - just what we needed after a long walk from Drumnadrochit. They also provided us with milk for our tea at the tent - great service, friendly and professional and value for money. Highly recommended!

I can't write highly enough about this place. From the moment you walk in, you know they are doing everything they can to ensure the customer has a positive, memorable experience. The last time I had a breakfast as good as this was in Japan, and they know about customer satisfaction

Superb little cafe packed with friendly and accommodating staff. Located in a camping ground they open daily through summer.

Stopped by for breakfast, the food was great and pretty filling, and the cappuccino my bf had was very nice. The staff were very friendly and were attentive to other customers while we were eating. Just a great wee spot!

We were visiting the area and this cafe was a welcome stop for lunch, with a good choice for vegetarians. I had the soup with oatcakes option and it was delicious. My son was delighted with the Bon Accord cola, which didn't have any Stevia in as many soft drinks do these days! The staff were very welcoming and friendly.

I was staying at Cannich Campsite for 2 nights with my dog. This cafe was a real bonus on my stay. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and although dogs weren’t allowed inside I was happy to sit on the patio and have a meal. I had lasagna which was honestly amazing. I had breakfast the next day before I left of scrambled eggs and toast and some sausages for my dog. Both were yummy. I would totally recommend a visit if in the area you don’t need to stay at the campsite

A brilliant lunch stop serving wholesome tasty food at reasonable prices. The homemade soup of the day served with a cheese scones was delicious. Highly recommend dropping in if you are in the area.

We had delicious hot chocolates, with a mars crispie bar, a piece of coffee and walnut cake. Perfect after a walk up Glen Affric.

We had the big scottish breakfast and it was seriously delightful. nice surrounding and also very nice and funny owners/staff.

Arrived needing a late lunch and the proprietor was friendly and welcoming. A simple menu of hot snacks, sumptuous cakes, and drinks were all tasty and served quickly, despite us being politely forewarned that limited staff today could mean a short delay. Really excellent 👌. Thank you.

Excellent little cafe on the camp site run by friendly staff. Nice selection of freshly prepared food, coffee and cake. Free WiFi and lovely setting looking out onto the camp site. Now being run by campsite owner and better off for it. Unlike one in next village they do hot food, are friendly and accommodating.

Excellent little cafe with welcoming staff. Great range of freshly prepared food. Very reasonably priced and much friendlier staff compared to another café nearby. It's been recently reopened by the campsite owner and is much better for it. Opening hrs during the season have been extended and I will definitely be making it a regular stop when in the area.

New owners? Standards have dropped. Bought in cakes and shut at 2 pm on a Saturday. Shame used to be a good refuelling stop.

Visited years ago and was glad it was still as good! Had 2 breakfasts which were great value for money and kids were made very welcome.

On our way to plodda falls when everyone decided they were hungry, found this place for lunch, beautiful setting and staff very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and really good value for money. Highly recommended.

Ate here every morning while we camped at the site. Breakfast is spot on and they have the most accommodating range of veggie/vegan options for breakie and lunch. Friendly faces and good food. Can't complain!

Called in this morning just before we left to journey home. The food was lovely and tea piping hot. Great friendly staff and a super gift shop area as you enter. Well worth a visit if you are passing or like us staying on site.

We popped into this cafe for breakfast, I had homemade muesli, yogurt & honey, toast and marmalade plus a pot of tea. It was delicious, the staff were great and the actual cafe was lovely. Everything reasonably priced too, all in all a great breakfast.

Very glad we popped in for a late lunch. We had toasties and soup with homemade bread - delicious, very generous portions and great value for money. We decided to go back the next morning for breakfast which was also lovely. Great find!

Very nice cafe, offering a good lunchtime selection. Plenty of vegetarian options. We both had brie and cranberry paninis which were lovely. Fresh scones afterwards were excellent. Would recommend.

This is a real find. The cafe is very clean and the staff both very friendly and helpful. I had one of the best lattes I have ever had and then we returned later and I had soup of the day. Sweet potato and lentil - just delicious! Full marks to Bog Cotton!

My family and I have visited Cannich caravan & campsite many times and each time we take advantage to enjoy freshly cooked meals & treats from Bog Cotton Cafe.This quirky little cafe is immaculate and clean, always warm and you will most certainly get greeted with a smile.My daughter and I love the early bird breakfast (I think the hash brown is home made!) good portion and very filling, especially before a big walk ahead of you. Why no try their soup of the day with a roll and butter. Honestly best comfort food on a rainy day.Breakfast rolls are a must if you need to get going. Cakes are all freshly baked. Our favourites are the scones with jam and butter, custard creams and Chocolate cake It’s owner, June, is very polite and attentive to her customers which makes it even more inviting and pleasant to visit. Have a look at the gift shop too, with a lot of handcrafted local items to take away with you as a souvenir from the area. Cash and card payments available, also WiFi This place truly is a gem !

Lovely friendly service. Had a fry, quality bacon, sausage, hash brown, beans, fried egg , toast and tomatoes. All cooked well and tasted lovely. Very good value. It’s a small place but the owner is welcoming and the view onto the campsite is lovely. They have a range of soft drinks, treats etc and there’s a small gift shop to the side.

A great wee cafe just too handy for the campsite! A great way to start the day before hitting the hills.

If you are staying anywhere near Cannich or passing through make time to stop at this beautiful cafe where the welcome is as lovely as the food. We had cooked breakfasts (there is a vegetarian option) for an incredible price and took a couple of pieces of homemade shortbread away with us. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

We were taking a week out exploring Glen Affric using the campsite as a base.

Popped in for lunch today with my husband and two kids, hostess was very friendly and the food was great, good sized portions, they were happy to split one portion between two kids too as so large. Lovely gift shop also. The café doesn't allow dogs though so keep in mind if travelling with one!

This is a lovely little cafe with lots of seating both indoor and outdoor to cater for whatever the weather of the moment is. Delightful owner who was obliging and helpful dispensing both excellent coffees and advice on the local area. Popular with walkers, cyclists, campers and those just passing by. Lots of choice and and the relaxed atmosphere enticed us back on more than one occasion.

Great place to have lunch on your way to or from Glen Affric. Owner is friendly and attentive and provides home baking as well as a good snack lunch. Nice to be able to eat outside on the covered veranda when the weather is warmer. Good selection of gifts to purchase too.

My husband and I visited BCC on mothers day whilst having a drive out locally. We were greeted by the lady owner and her son with a warm friendly welcome. Service was excellent and the atmosphere in BCC homely and welcoming. I love going out just for the experience of "having a great coffee" as I dont like tea!! The coffee here was great, served hot and fresh not like some of the push button dish water rubbish that many places seem to offer these days. It was a great cup tasty from start to finish and I always love hot milk on the side if I havent chosen a flat white. The scone my husband had was equally fresh and delicous. A pleasure to visit and thank you for great hospitality.

Located on the caravan park in Cannich this was a lovely find on our way to walk in Glen Affric. Lovely soup, with oatcakes or homemade bread. Excellent hot chocolate and nice selection of cakes.

Cannich is niet heel bijzonder, maar wat wil je als wandelaar meer dan een Schots ontbijt voordat je de heuvels in gaat? De dame die het cafe draait is heel vriendelijk. Het is er schoon, er zijn de hele dag lekkere cakes / taartjes te krijgen. De koffie is excellent (in Schotland nog wel!) en de thee... overvloedig. Neem 's middags een soep en een pot thee, en heel je lange wandeldag smelt uit je benen.

This time last week we was sitting in the Bog Cotton Cafe, in the lovely village of Cannich. We were served by Jill who was pleasant and welcoming. On the menu you can have anything thing from a full breakfast to various selection of beautiful cakes. You can sit outside on the veranda that wraps itself around the cafe taking in the beautiful views. There is also the opportunity to buy local produce, all very nice !!!!

Been here a few times this year. Great coffee and scones and a very warm welcome. Able to sit with dog on decking and also bought fresh local plums. 5 star. We'll be back

Lovely friendly staff, great bacon butty and fab full breakfast served there. They also have a nice selection of cakes n biscuits which go well with the selection of coffee n tea's.sitting in, sitting outside or just takeaway all covered. Highly recommended place to visit.

Fantastic place, we were staying in one of the static caravans and were able to get a great breakfast here. Staff were friendly and very helpful, they also do great takeout coffee.

We visited the cafe several times during our stay at the camp site. We went as a place to warm up and escape the rain, and to have a hearty breakfast before the day's activities. Every time we were greeted warmly and made to feel welcome. A wonderful addition to the campsite and to Cannich. Also, thank you for the recommendations at places to eat in the area!

We ate hear three times this week, stunning breakfast/brunch each time, fantastic value for money. Additionally, we had their red pepper and sweet potato soup with home made bread yesterday. Truly delicious. The cakes are stunning. Brilliant gem of a cafe in a fabulous location. Staff exceptionally welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be back when next in Cannich..

The food was great and it was very quick to arrive. Good coffee and tea to help wake up in the morning. The biscuits were very good and the breakfast meal was absolutely delicious. The homemade soup and bread was amazing. The staff were being very kind to us as well. It had a good setting around the campsite and the decoration was lovely. I loved the grass on the roof, it gave it a very vibrant look and the inside was beautiful. It had a very comfortable feeling. I also like that it is a dog friendly Café.

Had a rude experience the night before at the local pub and now this awful place. What sort of cafe cannot produce scrambled eggs? my 4 year old son can make them, why cant they?

We called here today for coffees, not been here in four years. Greeted by two ladies behind the counter where we ordered a Fruit Scone and a Bacon Roll and two Americanos with hot milk on the side. It’s a lovely bright cafe with floor to ceiling windows with great views looking towards the woods and the camp site.

So emmmmm myself and Jimbob were out and about again and popped into get breakfast. Very good service and bacon eggs rolls hit the spot. Enjoyed the camper trying to do yoga on the lawn , all 3 minutes. Haha. This isn’t a complaint as the Malteser slice was soooo good but it was huge. For the price I’d happily pay the same for a bit half the size. Will be back again soon. Cheers

Looked like a lovely campsite, but we just stopped for coffee and cake on our way into glen Affric. Staff very welcoming, and the Malteser cake was delish. Dread to think how many calories were in it, but who cares when you're going to walk it all off?!

This friendly cafe is open to everyone so don't think you have to be staying at the site. Very friendly staff and great food. We stopped for an early lunch on our way to glen Affric and were so impressed we stopped for afternoon on the way back. All the food was excellent and very good value. Very good choice of gluten free food.

Ice cream ,was delicious my daughter who normally only likes chocolate cakes and ice cream said it was the best she ever tasted,she had vanilla and we had raspberry,so fresh ,made that day so delicious,and loads of raspberry in it ,my pair had a very good breakfast there,lovely and clean ,staff very helpful and bubbly ,owner was great even delivered to my tent and nicely presented salad and coleslaw and wedges with dips great service and hot chocolate was just as great loads of cream ,great food and great service and helpful with were to stop on way home for a break as 12 hours journey and help and advice for midge bites ,will go back again if visiting again in Scotland xx

The nice little cafe is an Oasis. In the middle of wilderness at the Cannich Campsite it lovingly serves out delicious local fare piping hot and the cheerful trio of Kerry, Sierra and Maggie would not rest till you are completely satisfied before you leave.They even have a chestful of toys for the kids to keep busy.It's the staff that matters for any place to be alive, and this cafe is very lucky on that front.

Had a nice lunch here whilst staying at the nearby caravan park.Was clean and the staff were nice.Nice enough food. The potato wedges were forgotten about and so came out just about cooked and not super nice. Thought they would have made their own tho.Nice place for food, no real complaints but just didn't find it as amazing as other people obviously do.Would perhaps visit again if in the immediate area.

Great service, food and staff. Stayed in Cannich for a week by myself a couple of weeks past and used the cafe for breakfast and afternoon coffee. Nothing was too much for the staff and the food was delicious as well as the coffee. Great friendly place just wished it opened later. Will be back!

We were staying at Cannich Campsite after hillwalking nearby and decided to pop into the Café for breakfast. Great decision - excellent food, great service in lovely surroundings. Great place to stop for coffee, have breakfast or lunch and they do carry-outs! Just look out for the sign to the Campsite and the Bog Cotton Café just sits to the right hand side of the entrance to the Campsite. Highly recommend it!

We stayed here 6 yrs ago and loved this wee cafe.Now 6 yrs later we were back and it has not lost its charm.Coffee and cake were amazing and fresh.It is a little oasis in the middle of an amazing place.

We visited after a walk. The coffee is excellent. The cake was fresh and tasty. The homemade ice cream was so good that my brother had seconds! I have been back since as the coffee is fresh and the best for miles.

I found this cafe on my way to Glen Cannich. I'm gluten free and they were very helpful. I had grilled halloumi and a lovely, varied salad with a great dressing, roll and a cake. Yum!! I was there at the end of March. I don't remember how much I paid for it. I just remember it being good. Back here because I couldn't remember the name of the cafe and wanted to mention it to friends for a trip to Glen Affric this coming weekend. After reading a previous review, I wanted to add my experience.

Very quiet but pleasant enough. Not a lot of choice on the menu but what there was was good. We had been before several years ago and it was not as good as it was then - seemed a .little run down

We recently had breakfast here after we forgot to take porridge on our camping trip. Great service, good price and good breakfast. Quality ingredients apart from the sausage, it could be improved on.

We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere at the Cafe and the Breakfasts were freshly prepared and good value for money.

We wanted a quick, simple lunch and this odd little place provided it. I had falafel; others had the ploughman's lunch. Interesting bottled drinks and good coffee; I think there was wine, but am not sure. The woman behind the counter was lovely. The gift shop featured the best designed tea towels and cards I saw on our entire trip. We had absolutely no expectations and were pleasantly surprised. Go figure!

Lovely cafe! Very friendly staff, great food, beautiful setting. Visited every day while staying in the caravan site next door and loved this place. My 2 young children can be quite animated at times but the staff made them feel welcome and went the extra mile to make sure they were well catered for - even gave my son a toy on our last day. Can't wait to visit again!!

Return visit when back here on holiday. This is a great place foe excellent coffee and cake. Very friendly staff.

Ze zijn vriendelijk, hebben goed eten en zijn niet duur. Meer willen Hollanders echt niet. We hebben een relatief nieuwe route gelopen in Schotland en dit was een van de restaurants die aan de route lag. Goed ontbijt doet wonderen.
