The Loch Ness Inn in Highland

What a stunning location for a well equipped hostel. It’s virtually brand-new so everything is pristine and the facilities are amazing. The pub next door serves great food and the staff was so helpful and flexible with our arrival time, evening meal times and breakfast.

As we were in the area and did not want to wait until getting back to Inverness to eat. Based on the reviews we came to the Inn. Absolutely incredible food. Had a feeling we would not need starters and we were correct. Can highly recommend the venison and seafood linguine (an amazing stock for the latter). Great staff as well, all in all a great vibe.

Booked the restaurant. First visit. Very good service, excellent food. Quality ingredients and well-judged portions. Strongly recommend. I would expect this establishment to be fully booked on a regular basis now the season has started.

Ate in the bar for my parents golden wedding anniversary. Lovely, attentive staff. Nicely modern bar, dog friendly. I expected regular bar food, but was pleasantly surprised by the high quality dishes. Had Lamb from the specials menu, which for £16 was superb value. Like most places in the highlands at this time of year opening hours are not like in the cities. So check timings by calling in advance (don’t trust facebook or online times). Would defo recommend Loch Ness Inn for food and drink.

We were staying about 20 minutes away and as we were in the area just before the season started, not many places were open. We were recommended this place and it did not disappoint and we went back twice for supper. Friendly service from the time we booked and during dinner, locals all saying hi to the dog, it was lovely. We enjoyed the beef pie, burger, haggis Bon Bon (nice) and their Viognier! Oh and they do Black Isle Brewery beers and a couple of non alcoholic beers too. The back bar is very bright and clean but I always feel like with the lights up full, a place lacks atmosphere but tbh if you had a few more tables in (our first visit was on a Monday and second on a very rainy Thursday) and I am sure it would be better! Good music which makes a difference. Thanks for being dog friendly, the lovely service and brilliant food. We will be back.

Arrived here this evening decided to walk from our B&B to this place as recommended by our hosts. Walking along thought will be closed , empty or not serving food but was wrong it was a lovely place. Service was brilliant food was stunning my only gripe I would have is maybe ask customer how they want steak done although I should have said myself but the mixed grill was delicious, sticky toffee yep 10/10 too !!! Thanks for a great meal and for our first visit to this area would reccommend

Well worth stopping here for food and drinks. I really like the Black Isle beers and they have a big range! Nothing jumped out from the starter menu so we had main and dessert instead. The cod cassoulet special was excellent. It was mid winter so would have been cosy if one of the wood burning stoves was lit. The other slight negative is around pricing on the main courses when compared to rosetted restaurants or Lake District inns, particularly the breadcrumbed chicken dish which was very basic. The staff and service level was excellent so we will recommend this place.

We bundled into the Loch Ness Inn the day after a wedding nearby and had a fabulous Sunday lunch which revived us back to life. Some our party went for the lamb roast dinner which came with roast potatoes, yorkies and roast veg and a delicious gravy, whilst the others went for the fish and chips. Everyone loved their food, and the pints of black isle blondes that went with it 🍻. Thanks to all the friendly staff for making it a great experience.

Enjoyed a first class dinner last night, for my husband’s birthday. Food was excellent and beautifully presented. Lovely relaxed and intimate atmosphere in the dining room of this traditional old inn.

We absolutely loved everything about the Inn. Warm and cosy in the restaurant, nce selection of wine and draught beer and a great choice on the menu. Service and food was superb. I was hoping to sneak through to the other bar for a quick pint as it looked like a cracking place but I sadly didn't manage. We'll be back.

We booked for lunch on a Sunday for 5 of us. Lovely restaurant and staff were accommodating. We arrived early for our booking and could sit and drink and play cards. Young staff who did well to serve us. Food tasty.

We came across this lovely restaurant while searching for somewhere near to our campsite. The decor is lovely as is the food. Staff are very welcoming too. Would be very happy to have a local go to like this. It was quite busy and we were in early doors so may need to book if going a little later. Definitely recommend here if you are in the area.

Pocos veces puedes decir que te ha gustado TODO lo que han traído. Hemos compartido los entrantes, el parfait de hígado de pollo y las albóndigas de cordero especiadas a la arabe. Estupendos ambos platos. De segundo sendos Rib Eye con salsa a la pimienta y patatas. Aunque no eran de buey sino de ternera estaban tan sabrosos que casi no les hemos puesto la salsa. Todo regado con un Rioja. De postre crepes de ricotta con compota de frutas del bosque. Quedamos encantados. Camarero y camareras simpáticos y eficientes.

Last night of our 25th wedding anniversary trip down ( or is up as we are in the Scottish highlands) memory lane, and as usual the best pub/restaurant has been found!! The Bar, has a modern/bright/airey feel to it. The display of the Whiskey bottle is very eye catching! The dinner room/restaurant again has the same vibe. Excellent service, attentive but not overly in your face. We started with Asian prawns and Salted cod fritters, plentiful with a delicate flavours. Main Highland Burger and Shellfish linguine. Both good but the seafood linguine was one of the best meals I have had in a long time, delicious and delicately flavoured.

8 adults, 1 child, 1 baby and 2 dogs all had a great time. The food was lovely and fresh and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.

Great food and excellent service. We were a family of four. They have a new menu and lot of options to choose from. Drinks are nice and cocktails are lovely. We had pork croquettes, tomato soup and salt cod fritters. Good portion and yummy. Funnily cod was salty, should have known by the name. Had chicken, duck leg , sea food linguine and mac and cheese for mains. Yes we were hungry. Yummy food. Linguine packed with flavours. My second try at mussels and was so glad I ordered them. Service is great and portion sizes are good. It’s not pub grub if you choose wisely. On the pricey side but worth the money. Panacotta was yummy too. We had desserts too. The sticky toffee pudding is huge. Four people can share . We still ended up ordering 3 desserts. As I say we’re just too relaxed and willing to over eat a bit . We’re visiting and staying in the village. Would definitely recommend if you’re there.

I've been to both the bar and the restaurant multiple times and always received great service, amazing food, and tasty drinks. Staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. The new bar space is modern and cosy, and the beer garden is ace when the sun is shining. Decent range of drinks available, including local beers, and the food is fantastic. Highly recommend for locals and visitors alike.

What a wonderful, relaxed place to have a meal! We booked a table in the bar area as we had a dog with us (advance booking a must). The staff was super friendly, accommodating and attentive. The bar tender was excellent, serving delicious local gins and refreshing beer. The food was abundant, delicious and superbly presented. The red berry pavlova was so yummy. We were well looked after and had a wonderful evening. Thank you Loch Ness Inn team. We will be back :-)

We popped in to the Inn most nights of our holiday, great little place,had dinner in the restaurant one night and the food was fantastic, the Chef here is on a different level, brilliant. All the staff are really friendly and very helpful.If I really had to be picky I found the bar area too small, if people are eating in the bar there is nowhere to sit, so you need to get in early, we turned up to have a drink and it was packed, so we had to give it a miss.Even so, we loved the place are will be back in March 24 and will be visiting every day as it’s so good,👍

What a wonder surprise to find good food and not be worried about the bill, even with a few whiskies! All of us enjoyed our Pasta, lamb shank and pork chop. Portion size was just right and the service was excellent, with patient and attentive folk waiting the tables. Only one of us had a dessert but that was delicious, the bit I tasted anyway.

This restaurant is a fantastic find. So glad I found it. I had the harrissa mussels to start followed by the lamb shank both were cooked to perfection. Then for pudding I had the pavlova which was immense. Good job guys 👍

I had booked a table here for four of us after a day in the mountains. We arrived early but were still seated with little delay. The homemade soup was a favourite at the table for starter. The fettuccine with hot smoked salmon was delightful. Sticky toffee pudding also proved popular. Very pleasant surroundings and friendly staff.

My wife and I stayed here for a few nights in September. Good location with Urquart Castle in easy walking distance but just off the main centre. The room was basic but nice and clean with comfy beds (welcome after a terrible night on the Caledonian Sleeper). Our evening meals in the restaurant were excellent - good food, attentive staff and a nice ambience. But the best thing of all was the full Scottish breakfast - truly first class.

We had the lamb and the steak as main courses and the chocolate tart as dessert. It was really good and the staff was nice! The pub was also as welcoming.

Il servizio è veloce e cortese. Prezzo nella media della scozia. In due abbiamo preso due piatti, una birra acqua e un dolce per 50 sterline. Assolutamente consigliato

At first sight you might, as we did, walk past this establishment. That would be a mistake. The interior is delightful and cosy. The food, for starters we had chicken liver parfait and prawn dumplings. For main course sea bream and pork. All four dishes were delicious. The Bordeaux wine, very nice. The staff charming. Worth a visit.

Great pub and beautiful food. We went for Sunday dinner, was pretty expensive but delicious. Well worth it, would definitely eat there again and recommend highly.

Maybe I'm spoilt or my expectations are too high, but the burger and chips for £15.75 was overpriced. It was tasty, the chips were OK too, but for the price I'd expect a bit more. Great location but too pricey for me.

Lovely restaurant, beautiful food... so good we can here 2 consecutive nights. Need to book in advance as its usually busy. Lovely mains and the sticky toffee pudding is delightful. Only downside was on the second night when we sat near the bar and there was about 5 young workers all stood next to us chatting and felt like they were waiting to clear up after us, so felt we needed to hurry a little. Maybe ask staff to not stand in groups near tables? But other than that, can't fault it. Would definitely visit again and just sit at another table.

Visited after reading a few reviews. It seems you are all right! Cracking pub, lovely decor and super friendly staff. Plenty of local beers on offer. Food spoke for itself. Fresh, local, delicious. Highly recommended if you're in this part of the world.
