4 of us had food after a very wet and windy round of golf. The food was reasonable, and the setting is very nice, comfortable chairs, nice ambiance etc. Service is a bit hit and miss unfortunately. Took a while to get seated, though once we were at our table, the staff that looked after our table were very good. The Average rating is based on the pricing/quality equation, as the menu items are quite expensive for what you get, even accounting for the location. It's a frustrating menu too, as the Burger and Chicken Burger sit alongside the Haddock and Steak pie on the menu. The fish and steak pie both come with fries (as would always be expected), but for some mad reason, the Burgers do not. It's crazy, and all of a sudden, the £21 fish & chips (that's expensive) become better value than the £18(!) burger, as fries are an extra £6. By the way, £6 for a modest portion of fries is also ridiculous. There was discussions at other tables regarding some Members getting their 20% discount (totally fair, members should have perks over visitors) but there was something to do with certain members not receiving their 20% on some of the peak days around the Christmas holidays. If that was the case, get a grip owners, and stop making your loyal members feel like second class citizens. Oh, and sort out the Burgers so that they include fries..... especially at £18, as it's clearly not a freshly made burger, or we'd have been asked how we'd like it cooked.

Thoroughly enjoyed home made soup and a delicious panini for my lunch followed by tea and biscuits. Didn't want big breakfast my hotel offered and the tea rooms bacon roll and excellent cuppa got my day of to a good start - 3 times. Found the staff very friendly. Sorry for other traveller who felt ignored must have been a one off.

Place is a nightmare. Phoned twice to try and book a table got told will be back in a minute then left on the line for over 15 minutes before leaving it. Was concerned with the individual who decided to pick the phone up and begin to heavily breathe down the line. Turned up was only three chairs at a table meant for four. Wasn't made aware that there was a limited menu. Place is a bit of a mess with a food area essentially attached to a pub with a DJ trying to make it some weird nightclub vibe. If you want to go for a pint aye ok but avoid for anything. Absolute disaster.

My workmate and myself got food poisoning yesterday from this dump. Chicken curry with rice. Will never set foot in the place again. And the woman serving us had a mouth like a sewer.

I love this chippy and have large fish and chips on a Friday and Saturday evening every fortnight… Last night nov 16th I found 3 human hairs in the meal …not good and staff should really wear hair nets when dealing with food.- They were perfect on the Friday however.

We have visited this establishment regularly, now called Carriages But on 2 recent visitss were very disappointed. We had dinner, nothing exciting but one of us had a pasta dish and requested parmisan, the waiter said he would get it, some 10minutes later no parmisan, we repeated the request another 5 minutes and still nothing, the waitress said sorry did not have any when we were paying the bill Surely if you sre serving pasta you should have parmisan. The next lunch we popped in with 2 grandchildren for something small to eat , but were informed could not do food as not booked, there were plenty of empty tables

Came for brunch for a catch up with a friend. Both ordered the same thing , bruschetta was rock hard and eggs were cold and rocket salad was soggy and wilted. Coffee took ages to come and we had almost finished our meals by time drinks came. Serving staff were rushed off their feet and seemed to be very stressed , also seemed like they were very understaffed. Wouldn’t recommend as other places do much nicer food at a cheaper price. !

I don't know what has happened with Premier inns at the moment but Two weeks running terrible food served this time I opted for a "fake and ale pie" the meal took forever to be served and when it was it was the pie was burnt on the outside a d frozen in the middle What the jell is going on!! Two weeks running going to bed hungry after a long days work I will be instructing the company I work for to look for alternatives now as nothing is ever resolved all that happens is some half ar*ed fake apology on here

Best soup I’ve ever had. The homemade soup here is incredible. I had the lentil and my friend had the mushroom and we both took another pot home with us! The breakfast rolls look lovely and the staff are so nice. Thanks and see you again!!
