Came for brunch for a catch up with a friend. Both ordered the same thing , bruschetta was rock hard and eggs were cold and rocket salad was soggy and wilted. Coffee took ages to come and we had almost finished our meals by time drinks came. Serving staff were rushed off their feet and seemed to be very stressed , also seemed like they were very understaffed. Wouldn’t recommend as other places do much nicer food at a cheaper price. !

We always order fish & chips here, however, we were so disappointed to find out that they've replaced their wonderful chips for skinny chips that are nowhere near as good as what they were before. Changes the dish altogether so we'll need to find another venue for this dish unfortunately. Shame. Waitress said that a lot of people miss their chunky chips. They should at least offer them as a side dish.

Went for breakfast a Safurday morning. On entering the glass doors were full of hand prints obviously not cleaned from the day before. . Ordered breakfast bacon was cold. My tea pot lid was chipped. Gave this back no apology just changed over. The cake refrigerator was full of hand prints obviously not cleaned. Makes you wonder what the kitchen is like. I brought the refrigerator and the doors being dirty to the attentio of the young girl who served us asked her to pass my comments onto the appropriate person. Obviously was not taken on board as it was still dirty by the time we left. This place has gone downhill obvious from the lack of customers and the standards.

Two of us visited for lunch on a weekend. We had 2 standard sandwiches and & 4 coffees. When I called at the till to pay (having requested it twice whilst at the table and been ignored) the bill was £47. I immediately said “that can’t be correct”. A very snippy response that it was absolutely correct as everyone else had paid and it was the only bill left. Clearly my bill had been given to someone else who hadn't queried it. I queried it again and the response was even more aggressive. I paid and left. I will never return to any Calders venue or garden centre and neither will a significant number of friends and family who are now aware. When your staff are more interested in their nails/make up/iPhones this is how they treat customers.

This is a regular breakfast stop if we are travelling east. 2 full breakfasts inc tea/coffee is £18 which is good value. Waitresess are always nice and met by seaters with a cheery greet. But the kitchen could go easy on the grease. Plate was just swimming in the stuff this morning, Saturday 31 Aug. And be sure to ask for links over slice.

Maybe it was an off day but disappointed with experience. Sat outside as we had our dog and asked for the table to be cleaned as bird poop on table. Waitress only cleaned the area with the poop and not the whole table. The staff brought out side plates cup and saucer and dessert fork and left them for us to set ourselves minus other cutlery. Had to ask for teaspoon twice for tea, and then milk and knife /spoon to prep scones. Contents of one sandwich plopped onto table when platter was put on it .Though still tasty tray bake teams were a bit bruised and battered looking. Waiting staff seemed more engaged with the seating inside as outside was quiet but would still have expected better service Should have given feedback at the time admittedly but we have bought others afternoon tea vouchers as gifts and have always had good reports back. Sadly we didn’t have the same experience which is a pity as on other occasions for breakfast, lunch or take and cake we’ve never had any concerns

Breakfast wasn’t great. Cooked breakfast was cold. Pancakes were poor and maple syrup was substituted by golden syrup. Crack in teacup too. We did provide feedback and they were happy to heat breakfast up but we were half way through before they asked so did not bother. Girls who served breakfast were friendly. Won’t be back for breakfast.

We booked a table for 3 for lunch at this busy restaurant. We were seated at table 49 in the Horsemill .....and were served by a highly efficient and friendly waitress. The meals of haddock and chips and spicy chicken flatbread were delicious as were the plain and fruit scones which followed with pots of tea. This is certainly a friendly, welcoming restaurant where you can enjoy a snack or meal in comfortable surroundings. We will certainly return.

We visited the Cafe yesterday for the first time. I thought I knew what I wanted but looking at the menu it was a hard choice but after consultation with our lovely waitress we chose 2 Full Breakfasts and we weren't disappointed, the quality of the produce was excellent and I almost finished the meal (I usually only eat half of a plate) which is normal for me but I donated my fried egg and a bit of toast to my husband and the Breakfasts kept us going till Dinner time! So all in all a great visit with lovely staff and have to mention my very helpful waitress again as nothing was any bother, always served with a smile. The other thing to mention is that I'm in a Wheelchair and sometimes the tables can be a hit or a miss, this was the right height for me and I didn't get constantly bumped like in some Cafe/restaurants, so it goes without saying we'll be back and keep up the good work!

Stopped by for lunch en route toGlasgow. Restaurant very busy but got a table with little wait. Table was still wet from a previous cleaning, food scattered on floor underneath the table. Order was a small fish and chips, 5 bean chilli, tea and coffee. Haddock and chips were excellent, fish well cooked and crispy batter. Chips were tasty. 5 bean chilli was a watery lukewarm mush, very few beans and little semblance to a chilli dish. The small portion of rice underneath was lumpy so must have been sitting for some time. Very disappointing!

Stopped in for lunch with my parents and was not impressed. I had Five Bean Chilli and Rice, which would have more accurately been called rice with tomato and vegetable sauce as it was 90% rice and had no spice at all. My parents’ food (Mac and Cheese and a Steak Panini) were at least accurately described but the portions were meagre considering the high prices. Advertising “specials” that are on the main menu anyway is highly questionable as well!

We stumbled upon this place by accident. Glad we did!!! Fantastic garden centre with lots of Christmas goodies and decorations in. We had a lovely lunch in the cafe. The waitress was friendly and attentive. I ordered a Mexican toastie and it was DELICIOUS - a generous spicy chicken filling with a little side of salad, sour cream and salsa. The cakes looked amazing but I was too full. Definitely will return.

we had been in cumbernauld shopping centre and decided to drop in to this garden centre which we had passed earlier. Firstly, the garden area is much bigger than first impression. Lovely area at back and plenty plants to choose. I noticed there is outdoor seating and dog friendly. Unfortunately to access this area, you need to pass through the restaurant which defeats the purpose if you need to take dog through the food area! My husband is in a wheelchair and im afraid the ground is not suitable for a wheelchair or a zimmer due to the area being flagstones and cobbled, making it very uncomfortable. Having said this, we did enter the restaurant and the seating was fine. The meal was very nice and the staff very helpful. It was very busy at the time. I would go back but my husband said he would not due to the cobbled entrance

Just had a 3 course meal here and it's about the worst service and meal we have ever had from these premises. Long wait for meals, had to eventually go looking for waitress. When food eventually arrived it was cold and unpalatable. Complained to which we got a sorry. Not good enough! Ordered coffee again after having to look for a waitress. Coffee came and guess what. Cold again. Complained again and again got a sorry nothing about replacing it or heating it up. When paying the bill for an atrouches meal, again we got a sorry. What's happened to this place we go often but it's the first time the service and meals have really been poor. Billy.

I bought a too good to go bag here, supposedly £13 worth of food. The whole bag was inedible. It was truly disgusting and I'm not a fussy eater. I put the whole lot in the bin after trying a bite of each. It was disgusting. Please don't spend your money on food here. It looks and certainly tastes nothing like the pictures. There was karaoke on when I was in which had the worst "singer" I had ever experienced.
