Baad Cafe in Glasgow City

Place was mobbed with Hong Kong market! Place was buzzing with an incredible atmosphere only matched by the staff working their socks off and delivering some incredible service despite being so busy. Food was top notch with the new Shawarma Boy concept being a complete winner! New guys have taken this place on and you can already see a huge difference from previous visits! Keep up the good work team BAaD!

Avoid...they are only interested in pulling pints. The place looks great and has a great ambience about it however thats about it. Its unorganised chaos from the start. It took 25 mins to get half the drink order. Another 4 times asking to get the other half. It then took an hour to get two pizzas. One of which was a wrong order. Decided enough was enough and left. Went to the toilet and was accosted by a member of staff who was standing at the entrance trying to stop people coming in and using the toilets. She doesn't take to kindly being told how bad the place is. Stinking attitude on her. How this place function's, no one knows!!!! One star as the pizza we eventually got was decent

I'm writing this review to caution anyone considering hiring BAad for a private event. My friend and I booked the mezzanine and bar area for a joint 30th birthday party, but the overall experience was let down. Firstly, the entire venue was deserted except for our party upstairs. There was no ambiance, and we informed by staff that this was due to a shortage of staff, or the assumption that I had rented out the entire venue for £200 on a Saturday night which is madness. Additionally, the security staff was so hostile and several guests commented on their behaviour. While the two bar staff members did their best, the overall experience suffered due to how the event was managed. We had to repeatedly request to play our own music and eventual , we were provided with a small speaker in an empty venue, which made it difficult to hear. It wasn't until hours later that we were able to connect to the main sound system. It appears that BAad didn't consider the guest experience at all, and I cannot in good conscience recommend this venue to anyone. I would have spent my £200 elsewhere in Glasgow, there's plenty of better venues. I also contacted BAad the day after the event and have yet to hear back.

Went with friends to watch the rugby and have lunch. Big tv screen and good atmosphere. Food arrived quickly and was average. Not huge amount of gf options. Friends were happy with their toasted sandwiches. Service was fast. Only issue was the acoustics for me which made it very loud and difficult to talk. Hey ho, we were there to watch the game anyway :)

Very nice and helpful female on door security who showed us inside and got a waitress to attend to us. Waitress was polite and friendly. Food was disappointing and average. We got the crispy chicken tacos which were pretty bland tacos were cold and not a lot of chicken. Loaded fries were again quite average and could have been more in bowl for the price. Will give the food a miss here next time!

I would like to mention a staff member within baad to be specific for her outstanding customer service her name was Kirsty and she was so lovely and warming to speak to and to get drinks from she was extremely helpful when needed and had absolutely outstanding customer service as a bar tender she made the team by far an is an absolute asset to the team !!!!

Stumbled upon this place and what a great find it was. Cool atmosphere and good vibe. Decided to share some food and got the loaded fries with chicken. Was amazing and a huge portion. Very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

What amazing find. Been coming to Glasgow for years and didn’t know about this place. Exactly the kind of place Glasgow needs - vibrant, cool, beer garden, street food style place. Staff amazingly friendly. Big shout out to James the waiter to resolved a problem beyond our expectations. We will 100% be back and telling everyone we know about this. Good great value for money too.

The tacos taste of absolutely nothing, avocado tempura is pointless as it's incredibly soggy, the only prominent taste is the lime. Korean chicken is pretty good, and the chips, again are so soggy and underseasoned. Would only be worth it if it was half the price, would totally recommend just going to Smokey Trotters round the corner. Yet another instagram pop up with all style, no flavour.

Visited here Saturday evening & it was slightly unorganised due to a wedding on - they weren’t aware of my booking initially, so it was a bit of a faff to get seated plus we weren’t given the token for our £5 deposit so had to ask about this a couple of times before it got sorted. Rosie was an absolute delight though, always so smiley & chatty, and was 100% the most attentive out of all the servers. I tried to give her a tip just for her, I was adamant she wasn’t to share it but ofc she did the right thing and put in their shared tip jar. Too kind for her own good!! Absolutely gutted that she is leaving :( defos the best part about the place

We were here for a wedding and it was fantastic! The staff were so accommodating but especially Louisa. She was absolutely fantastic! So personable and easy to get on with during everything that's going on. She was incredibly professional but felt at ease when we spoke to her. Louisa alone would be reason we would be back. What a great girl!

Me and 3 friends visited BaAd for a few drinks. All of the staff were fantastic, really quick service and all very friendly. Rebecca and Rachel were great as we had a few queries with our booking that they were quickly sorted, they couldn’t have been more helpful. Rebeccas customer service was great, she was really fun and enthusiastic which was really refreshing. We had a great night and will definitely be back !

Had a few drinks here late afternoon. Had pre-booked but there were a few spare tables. Drinks were over priced, at £7+ for a really small cocktail and £9.50 for a 250ml wine. Service was attentive. Would definitely return.

COVID restrictions applied so please take this into account with the review. Took 10 mins to get seated which was fine, despite having booked a table (£5). Table we were shown to had empty beer glasses and alcohol all over it (these were taken away but table never wiped). From being seated at 2010, it took until 2040 for first drinks to arrive. Had to ask several times for them. We only managed one other round (for 2 people) by 2200. Pretty shabby service...obviously with the restrictions etc things are difficult and I appreciate that. It was also a really busy Thursday night. I’m sure not all evenings are this chaotic but the experience wasn’t great . Trying to support local business is difficult when they don’t seem to put any effort in when the customers come back. That said, rather give my money to these guys than a whetherspoons.....

The staff were incredibly rude and uncooperative. The wind blew a large umbrella from a table onto my friends and a whole table of drinks smashed onto them and the staff could not have cared less. Would not hurry back.

Can I just say! Staff and atmosphere have been awesome. Shout out to Tatiana and Matt. Made it such an amazing time. Very attentive and had amazing customer crevice. Couldn’t recommend this place more. Very lovely energy xox

Visited here the other day with some friends and the experience from start to finish was brilliant. Staff where super friendly and helpful. Food was great and of course some alcohol beverages involved lol, everything was spot on. The place was very clean and overall we had the best time. Thanks again and will be back .

Baad Glasgow is a bar with so much potential and I really enjoyed my visit yesterday but wow the female Senior Manager (Blonde hair), truly gave some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. When we came to speak about our booking 10 mins before it was due to start (11.50am), she said we have to go away and come back, in a very cheeky tone. My friend and I, sat drinking there for 4/5 hours and there was a point we asked if we could sit in one of the containers (very cold), we seen they'd been free for hours but firstly a staff member never came back to us on it and tried to ignore us in passing. I then asked the senior manager if we could move in - she said straight up no its fully booked (even though we'd been there all day and seen nobody has been sitting there) and I said could we there until they come as I'm honestly freezing?Still no. 20 minutes later a group of 4 comes in and asks the same question.. what was the answer? Yeah no problem. When I asked how couldn't we after this? She began to say I should just be thankful because they extended our stay. Could not believe it. Such a shame as staff members like Tattie were fantastic but I won't be returning as this is only one of a list of disrespect the senior manager treated us with. We had a booking for next week but we've decided to cancel it due to this. When one of the staff members dropped a full beer on my friends jeans, we told them not to worry at all. Being as nice as we can but still no respect given our way. As I Said, so much potential but customers are the heart of your business.. if you want to be a success show people RESPECT.

Si te gusta tu café con leche rancia y tu atún fresco "marinado" en mayonesa vegana, BAad es el lugar para ti (y el infierno). Tuve los mejillones, pero más de la mitad de ellos no se abren, lo que los hace incomibles. Nuestra visita a The Calton Taproom fue un completo desastre de principio a fin. Las bebidas que llegaron estaban mal, por lo que el miembro del personal se disculpó, sin embargo, la misma ronda de bebidas INCORRECTA apareció en nuestra mesa 3 veces, la última de las cuales fue un encuentro muy desagradable con un miembro del personal que nos informó “No estoy aquí para hablar con usted, quiero saber su número de mesa ”- considerando que no trabajamos allí, no estoy seguro de cómo se supone que debemos saber nuestro número de mesa. !Desafortunadamente, fue de mal en peor.Finalmente obtuvimos la ronda correcta de bebidas solo para que un perro (que había estado deambulando por el espacio interior) fuera al baño justo detrás de nuestra mesa, no lo que quieres oler cuando estás tomando unas copas. Esto se planteó con el personal que parecía menos que interesado y nos informó que era el perro del dueño (quien, para nuestra sorpresa absoluta, estaba incluso menos interesado que el personal).Y para rematar una velada ya caótica, nos dieron la factura equivocada varias veces, solo para que nos dijeran "no sabemos a dónde se han facturado sus bebidas".El concepto es genial, el personal estaba bien (todos parecían muy estresados) sin embargo, la actitud de la gerencia / el propietario era pésima.Ah, y los baños son viles: la higiene parece ser lo último que les importa, lo que es particularmente preocupante en medio de una pandemia mundial.Fue hace unas semanas que fuimos, así que las cosas podrían haber cambiado, sin embargo, según otros comentarios, lo dudo mucho.Evite a toda costa.

Horrendous customer service. Drinks came as the wrong order, billed for items we didn't have, waiting an hour at least for a drink and the food we ordered didn't show up despite asking multiple times. Management were unsympathetic and almost aggressive in their response making out all these issues were our fault and no apology issued, we simply had to pay for the drinks we didn't order. Would not go again, especially if hungry!

Lo siento chicos, pero estaba realmente decepcionado, reservamos una mesa para 4, hacía demasiado calor, la música hacía mucho ruido, el servicio era lento, el conocimiento del menú era deficiente, la comida era buena pero tibia y mis 3 invitados comieron antes de que yo obtuviera la mía. 5/10 minutos después. las raciones eran pequeñas en la medida en que pregunté si los platos eran acompañamientos. Primera vez visitando aquí y será la última. Tuve que entrar por la cocina ya que había una reserva en el balcón. No me dijeron esto cuando reservé. Las órdenes de bebidas están constantemente equivocadas. Ginebra servida en vasos de agua. La comida fue quemada y enviada en más de una ocasión. 30 comensales en grupo y todos sirvieron en diferentes momentos, tés impactantes ya que todos tuvimos que irnos juntos. No está dispuesto a discutir un descuento o un reembolso parcial por un servicio deficiente. Piensa mucho antes de reservar este lugar. . . . . decepción real

First visit here. This place is a venue as well as a Restaurant/Cafe. We were here to attend a concert by iconic German electronic wizards Tangerine Dream. As usual you pay your money and are treated like cattle. First we were left standing in the freezing cold way too long past 7 pm advertised opening time.Standing only, no seats except for small disabled section on a balcony with restricted view over iron railings. Then band crew pfaffed around with gear, band eventually on stage at 8.30. They have all afternoon to set up and we could hear them sound checking as we stood outside in the cold.The venue itself is a cross between old queen st. Rail station and Peoples palace Tropical hothouse. Trouble was it wasnt hot but cold inside but this improved as body count grew. Food looked good in restaurant but got no clue as to drink prices as it was too busy with large queues. I will sample food on future visits as a member of CTF (Charles Taylor Foundation) who are due to meet here every month soon. So not a great experience last night but must be better with fewer people present. Watch this Space.

Baad Cafe anuncia el brunch del domingo a partir de las 11 am. Fui el domingo pasado a las 11. ¡A las 20 am y pidió una mesa para que el personal les dijera que estaban verificando si iban a servir el brunch a esa hora del día! ? Aparentemente no es tan sencillo como lo anuncian.Cuando decidieron que estaban sirviendo brunch, nos sentamos y explicamos que la cocina no abre hasta el mediodía. . . Aparte del domingo cuando abre a las 11 de la mañana. . . Le dijimos a la camarera que era domingo!A pesar de nuestro desconcierto, pedimos un poco de café y esperamos un menú durante mucho tiempo, ya que tenía que imprimirse para nosotros. En general, la experiencia de estar sentado con un menú nos llevó aproximadamente 25 minutos, momento en el que decidimos dejarlo.Tanto como el menú se veía bien, pero sentimos que el personal no tenía ni idea de lo que estaba pasando o si había alguien organizando el servicio.

This was a really cool bar which I visited with friends after football. Very relaxed with the big screen showing an EPL game. Good selection of beer and food. Friendly staff.

We knew exactly what to expect however on a Friday evening in October the surroundings were deserted. We walked there and back from Central Station. The restaurant on the ground was cold which would have been OK if the eating experience had been better. Staff were attentive and friendly however our mains arrived about an hour after starters, some one did apologise and we were not in a hurry. Unfortunately neither was worth the wait. In particular the king prawn linguine was not tasty at all. Cooking in old or too much oil ruined the linguine and did not help the scallop starter. We ate up and left. I never really moan about anywhere I go but my wife was looking forward to visit having been before during the day and liked the look. It does look great and the atmosphere was great with the DJ and old movie on the big screen. It is a little pricey as £4 for one slice of sourdough bread indicates. I'll maybe go back but it will during the day (a sunny day) for drinks, the cold seafood and chips.

Only diners in the place??? Food was ok (just) Service was friendly but a bit Scatty. Only good thing was it was dog friendly.

Myself and my partner had an itison deal for this place. It's a lovely place to sit outside at. Comfy and funky. Burgers were lovely, staff polite. We will be back.

La zona exterior es enorme! Hay TV, jugando fútbol, y sombrilla tapa para aquellos de nosotros que quemar! Los perros son bienvenidos y también hay un arriba, que puede perderse! Ok! Así que hay un montón de pescado en el menú, pero ¿dónde vas a conseguir ostras y langosta a estos precios! !

Compré un cupón para una hamburguesa y bebida a través Itison. Fuimos a lo largo y ninguno de los empleados parecía saber nada de la oferta vale existentes. Finalmente fue dirigida hacia un bar muy concurrido y dijeron a la cola y pedir al personal del bar. Una banda estaban jugando y era extremadamente ruidosa. Mientras arrodillados a considerar si valió la pena intentar llegar a la barra para conseguir hamburguesas cuando no había ningún sitio donde sentarse, el hombre teniendo entradas para el concierto nos dijeron muy grosera que tuvimos que comprar los billetes o salir. Expliqué que quería comer, no ver la banda y él dijo, "ir al bar, que no pude ver el concierto". El bar estaba literalmente a dos metros de distancia, así que apenas importa. Él intentó bloquear mi camino cuando intenté usar el wc, aunque abierta a todos, no sólo los viendo el concierto. Experiencia muy extraña. Sin duda no volveré.

Superb design, great place to watch the Footy, but make sure your wallet is loaded. Nice but a tad pricey.

Great outdoor space which was a great sun trap, ideal for a beer in the sun, food looked very nice too.

La experiencia general fue normal, pero te recomiendo que si desean comprometerse con la clientela que usted claramente que organizar una que buscan algunos soportes para bicicletas en el espacio público. No es que difícil de hacer y puede parar sus clientes paseos en casa se pierde irremisiblemente su complejo encerrado en el patio. Yo me resentí de mi viaje a casa 15 libras de taxi y significa que no regresaré de nuevo prisa después de recoger mi bicicleta. . .

No han visitado el Barras durante años. Las barras en su apogeo era un bullicioso mercado lleno de todo tipo de puestos, stands, botas y los vendedores de la calle de coches - fue fabuloso!

Nombre lo dice todo! ! Gran tienda de altas para un amante del dulce y tarta! ! Manejado por gente encantadora, que ir la milla extra para ayudarte.

Metimos en aquí para una taza de té para calentar, acabamos quedándonos para el almuerzo. Tenía una sopa y un sándwich, ambos deliciosos! No se podía dejar sin tener un pastel, lo que una difícil decisión tenía que hacer porque todos parecía increíble!! Acabé eligiendo un imperio galleta y no me decepcionó en mi decisión.

Metimos en un domingo de noviembre después de ir de compras en los mercados. Era fácil de conseguir una mesa y la selección de periódicos y revistas nos mantenían entretenidos. Pedimos pastelitos y té. No es a menudo la comida me sorprende pero esta fue una ocasión - los bizcochos era increíble! Encima de eso, entonces noté hermosa cafetería vende bebidas alcohólicas. encantados! Así que me llenó nuestra visita con una cerveza y sidra. El cielo. Nos hicimos amigos rápidos con el director al Amanecer y he vuelto varias veces desde entonces para encontrar diferente para hornear y igualmente buena. Un gran descubrimiento avanzó en el East End.

Pasamos un rato excelente contar en los mercados :) y al principio si fuera tuvimos una tostada con sopa casera (la gran tipo que tu madre o gran hace), con un delicioso home baking!! Dawn (la señora que lo dirige) hace que todo ella, tiene una personalidad encantadora y se filtra una pinta perfecta! Ella incluso considera que las personas con alergia al gluten y productos lácteos, así que nadie se puede perder. Fue un gran día inesperado y es el lugar perfecto para escaparse de la lluvia. Muchas gracias!

Me paré aquí mientras compras durante todo el año en algunos de los mercados. Fue un agradable descanso en un ajetreado día. Café era genial y el horneado era de primera clase!

If you are looking around the Barras then a good caffe is the one at the Base centre. Proper latte and home baking.

It's not often that I'm passing through this area and as I was meeting a friend nearby & came a little early I came in for a coffee.Service was rather slow I found it hard to grab a member of staffs attention, probably just short staffed.The coffee was ok but not the best I've had.From what I saw of the menu it looked simple and kind of quick food that could be churned out quickly, will try the good next time l pass by.
