We have visited this establishment regularly, now called Carriages But on 2 recent visitss were very disappointed. We had dinner, nothing exciting but one of us had a pasta dish and requested parmisan, the waiter said he would get it, some 10minutes later no parmisan, we repeated the request another 5 minutes and still nothing, the waitress said sorry did not have any when we were paying the bill Surely if you sre serving pasta you should have parmisan. The next lunch we popped in with 2 grandchildren for something small to eat , but were informed could not do food as not booked, there were plenty of empty tables

At long last closed down after previous owners ran it into the ground. Hopefully new owners will do as they say and renovate to form separate pub and restaurant with a total kitchen gut out and installation of decent toilets to open Autumn 2019. If any sense, they'll rename it to distance from previous appalling reputation.

I didn't eat here, but had a couple of great nights out in this pub. Friendly bar staff, who helped make the evenings fun and memorable. A bit scarce of teams for the pub quiz, which probably helped us win one of the prizes. Overall a great night out, can't wait to return to see friends, maybe try the food next time?

Having had some not so good experiences with very dry burgers and chicken dishes we decided to play safe with fish and chips which were quite good although the chips were not great. Personal bugbear is the small sachets of sauce that they insist on using. To get a decent amount you have to open about 10 of these each and usually have to resort to using your teeth on them! Why can't they give sauces in ramekins like other places? -Also the environmental impact of these. Although the place had apparently been busy during the day of our visit it was certainly not busy when we ordered, but it still took 45-50 minutes for our food to appear after having to ask about it. When asked, the waitress said that the kitchen staff had "lost the plot" due to the busy day that they had had. Desert took ages too even after some further prompting. Noticed some big splashes on the beam above our table [No 12] that had not been cleaned since our last visit over a month previous. This is a handy eatery with reasonable food and prices but it needs some strong management to bring it under control.

Visited for lunch, and were impressed at the value for money given with the generous portions. They provide inexpensive good pub grub from a wide ranging menu. As peace and quiet lovers, it was nice to find that the background music was in fact, background music rather than blaring out, so contributed to a relaxing meal. Only concern was that the decor was a bit dated and could do with a freshen up.

Visited before and thought we would try again.. walked in and looked at the menu went to the bar to order.. The staff member at the bar had her back to me and was making coffee so I waited she turned around a few times but ignored me so much so that I thought maybe she isn't taking orders and walked to the other end of the bar to see if there was anyone else.. No there wasn't so I stood and waited till she had finished. I didn't expect her to stop what she was doing to serve me but I did expect to be acknowledged considering she spoke to other people at the other end of the bar. a simple "be with you in a minute" or something similar would have been fine..I work in catering and we are all taught not to ignore customers as apart from being rude it isn't good customer service. Food was average Gammon steak and hunters chicken but would think twice about going back now.

Perhaps bring the only bar in the village doesn't help, but the Pullman Diner needs a little bit of TLC. Not the busiest if places on a Friday afternoon, but staff were friendly and drink prices reasonable. Did not eat so unable to comment on food. Would be more welcoming if it underwent a makeover. This was not my first time here and wont be my last, same menu and probably same suppliers as the Abbots in Renfrew which is best forgotten, Im putting it down to the chef and kitchen staff.Being of the larger appetite I ordered the skyscraper at £8.99 two 6oz burgers, saladonion rings and chips, burgers were good quality Aberdeen Angus type, thick, juicy and taking a lot of eating, I just managed it and was bursting at the seams. The wife had the 10oz steak, rare and cooked to perfection which itself is rare, that's why we were back here, at £9.99 inc fries and topped with the Texan sauce it was delicious. We waited no longer than 15 mins for food, very pleasant staff, good atmosphere, all in all, well worth a visit, to paraphrase Arnie, we will be back.

The food is a bit hit and miss and orders can be missing items when you recieved them. It needs a good full time manager that actually cares about the place and wants to improve it. It also could do with a deep clean and some tlc with the decor. Some members of staff go above and beyond (Kevin in particular) but others aren't very professional. The language from regular drinkers during the day when families are in trying to dine leaves a lot to desire and wouldn't be the first time I've had to mention to staff about it. I know it's a pub but it also pushes the family dining aspect and I don't expect to hear very loud men swearing so that everyone can hear.

The staff were all running about trying to serve and clear tables at the same time. They were very apologetic and were quoting 40 mins waiting time for food. Then a large party appeared [about 20 I think] and their booking had been lost! They actually improved on the waiting time and the food was very good apart from one starter which had been "nuked" but was replaced right away.Overall the food was quite good and the staff coped well in the circumstances.Worst thing was that the upholstery was very badly stained and could do with a deep clean or replacement.

After ordering, our food arrived promptly. Each course was delivered by courteous, efficient servers. Two of us enjoyed two courses and two of us, all three. The portions were very generous- particularly the nachos starter. The fresh flowers on window ledges and general décor provided a pleasant ambience. We'd probably have stayed longer; but the loud music (Saturday evening) prompted us to leave, as we had difficulty hearing conversation. The men weren't thrilled at having to order and pay at the bar (no receipt issued) and collect own cutlery - the only negative. The quality of waiting staff, food and value were very good. Drinks also, were well priced. They also have quite amazing value meal deals on various days.We will return.

Our family went for a celebration/leaving dinner.I have read other comments on the staff and I have to state that they were quite pleasant, especially the waiter who changed our dirty plates quickly and with an apology. The food was quite good but not great, for instance chicken a bit dry and ribs a bit tasteless, nevertheless it was acceptable standard for this type of place.Drinks were good price and on the Wednesday evening we were in there were free drinks with chicken main courses. One gripe I have with this and many other restaurants is the dreaded sachets of ketchup, mayonnaise, etc. They were good quality - Heinz - but why do we have to open them with out teeth????Slightly more upmarket, but not much, put bottles of the sauces on the table or give you a ramekin with them - it would certainly be an improvement.....We would return but not often - maybe once a month

Truly the worst experience i have ever had to endure both in a pub and dinning setting.Place was FILTHY, sticky bar, table, dirty glasses and used plates lying everywhere. Outside seating area was strewn with empty glasses and fag ends EVERYWHERE.Food was cheap pre packaged catering trade microwave garbage which incredibly they managed to overcook/burn/blacken.Staff were rude, agressive , hostile and incapable of speaking to each other and customers without swearing. They are clearly bored senseless with their jobs and this is reflected in their attitude towards customers. The blonde haired manageress( i believe her name was Kerry???) mentioned in previous reviews was particularly rude and aggressive when I mentioned that I was not happy with my meal and the service. I had to sit with my partner during the meal and listen to her swearing to regulars about someone who had been in earlier.I suspect the only reason this place is still open is because its the only pub in the village, anywhere else and people would boycott it. I certainly will not be back until it has new staff and a chef who can actually cook rather than just burn everything in the microwave.I really cannot over emphasise this......STAY WELL AWAY !!!!!!

I have visited the Pullman Tavern in Kilmacolm a few times but will never return. The place was filthy with cluttered sticky tables and half eaten meals. I now know why the meals were half eaten - cheap micro waved muck that they have the shameless audacity to claim was prepared by a "chef". The toilets should be closed to the public as they are DISGUSTING and a health and safety nightmare - human faeces lying on the floor of the ladies, no soap and God knows what was blocking the toilet causing it to over flow, This however is not surprising when you consider the hostile, aggressive and argumentative staff that appear to have no interest in being there and cannot hide there contempt for their customers - two blonde woman who actually made a six foot bloke feel intimidated and threatened. The staff of the Pullman are without doubt the worst thing about it, these women should never be in customer facing roles. Vile,

After 'discovering' the Sizzling Pubs Group during a recent holiday I decided to check if there were any in my area - for a wee caual birthday meal with my hubby. Found 3 local to me and decided on the Pullman - about 15 mins drive so very convenient. I can honestly say that it didn't let me down. Arriving around 4.30pm there were a few tables already occupied but we had plenty to pick from. Right from the outset the atmosphere felt very comfortable and welcoming. The menu offered good choices of starters, mains and sweets, and varying portion sizes all at fantastic prices. There was also a separate Kids Menu offering child-friendly options. At this point I must also say that the Christmas Menu looks good and the prices are (in my opinion) really good.Ordering at the bar is standard in 'Sizzling Pubs' but this was no hassle. Staff were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about everything on offer (including my 25% off voucher lol). We didn't have long to wait for our meal, which was brought to our table along with all condiments, cutlery and napkins, and a friendly "enjoy your meal" from the staff member. The food was delicious, the drinks were reasonably priced and the general atmosphere was pleasantly relaxed. I will definitely be back.

Solely disappointing food along with rather unsatisfactory hygiene standards. Went here today with my partner for the first time - To start of our experience at Sally's we were pretty unenthusiastic after placing our order due to the sheer state of the prep table, bread crumbs and food littered along the back station which certainly as you can imagine is not appealing to the eye - it was exceptionally grim. The woman who was running the station looked scunnered with her job as she wore this unwelcoming scowl across her face in the midst of her messy unclean station to top it all off she began smoking a vape In front of us! and over the food ! This was a sight for sore eyes! Totally repulsive and exceedingly unappealing! Couldn't even eat the food went in the bin which was indeed the best place for it - entirely poor performance. I hope this review is taken constructively and measures can be put in place to rectify this behaviour and unsanitary conduct. Deep clean needed and clean as you go process should be implemented. Furthermore here's something else to consider Smile! It's more inviting Having said this, to Conclude.. We won't be back ( can't say we would recommend. agreeably inadvisable )
