The best restaurants serving British food in Glasgow and Surrounding

Had a lovely meal at the twisted thistle. The staff were amazing and the atmosphere was lovely too. The food was perfect. There is a parking area and a beer garden. There is also a function suite available for hire.

We came here after work on a Monday. It was busy but not overbearing, and the music was really good. Loved the cocktails (we had the Glass Tears and a non alcoholic one) and we’d like to go again!

3 stars because staff were pleasant and attentive but if not for them this would be 1 star for food. I had a couple of small plates and while the clues in the name, for £7 you do expect a starter size portion. However this turned out to be a blessing. Dreadful, overcooked and any ready meal would have out shone them. Clearly not made from scratch and very very unpleasant.

Night out catching up with friends. I had the steak pie. It was ok, but the pastry was cold, and they covered it with gravy to heat it up, but that didn't work. Big portions can't complain about that. Overall, I enjoyed the night.

This location has (recently) changed hands. The new menu offers a great choice, mains, sandwiches, pastas and pizzas. Food was excellent and service was first class. This will be a regular place for me to visit.

Popped in for some brunch and were met pleasantly by staff. It did take over 10 mins for our order to be taken, despite being only one of only 4 tables in, but again staff were friendly when they finally got to us. We did however then wait for 45 minutes for two simple brunch stacks, one of which we sent back as we found a long black hair in it. Unfortunately staff offered no apology and we had to ask for it to be taken off the bill. They did ask if we wanted the dish remade but by this point the cafe had gotten busier and we couldn’t wait another half an hour for it to come out. Whilst we can appreciate mistakes happen, the long wait for service and lack of acknowledgment of their fault has put us off coming back.

Staff are friendly, helpful and food is always fresh and tasty. Can't recommend enough.

Friendly service, nice lunch, nice setting and ambience. Tends to have a bit of a wait, from my experience. Worth a visit, have been several times.

Ordered bacon rolls with a few extras. No bacon in the rolls when delivered. Very poor. Phone number appears to not connect when called either. Very poor.

Visited today after a trip to the kings theatre. The restaurant was very tastefully decorated and I expected it to be a bit pricey. However, I found the menu to be reasonably priced, and in the corner, I noticed a great deal. 3 courses for £19.50 including a drink!! Brilliant ..it got better. We actually got 3 starters between 2 as well as a mains and a Sundae. The food was really delicious and plentiful and the servers were very friendly. Found out about some great deals they do all through the week, which is good know as I have 2 teenage boys who love to eat lots. Will definitely be visiting again soon. Highly recommend 👌.
