Have called several times whilst staying in Balloch. Always a friendly welcome. Place is clean and Covid compliant with Track and Trace etc.Seems a local pub but very friendly and welcoming, with great selection of drinks. Outside seating and smoking area at back. Would be even better when Covid eventually goes away. Would recommend for a beer anytime.

My companion and I arrived at 12.30 p.m. Only one table was occupied. By the time we’d perused the menu, checked out the ‘specials’ and ordered our meals every table was occupied with a small group of people waiting - a sure sign of good food and competitive prices. It boded well. A pint of Guinness and a fresh orange were ordered whilst we waited. The meals arrived fairly quickly. My companion had ordered a haggis gateau and I the steak pie with a selection of vegetables. The haggis was reported to be exceptionally tasty. My mixed vegetables were fresh and crunchy, just as I like them, the roast potatoes were dry and crisp and the boiled not over cooked. The pastry was light and fluffy and the gravy quite succulent. However, the actual steak, although plenty of it, was dry, as if it had been over-heated in a microwave and then added to the gravy rather than been marinated. The menu, including starters and sweets, was comprehensive and had something to suit all palates and diets. Daily specials were announced on a blackboard. Prices ranged from £8 to £20. We didn’t have a starter or pudding but those we saw being served looked delicious and with generous portions. The place was very clean and the waitresses friendly.Would I go again - most certainly but probably wouldn’t order the steak pie!

We visited the Waterhouse Inn on recommendation. It was lunchtime and very quiet so was a bit dubious but the staff were warm and friendly. Everything was very well priced, served promptly and with a smile. Hubby and I had jacket potatoes with haggis - absolutely delicious and something that we have had at home now. My dad had a sandwich which he also enjoyed. Will be back when in the area.

Nice , well stocked bar for a evening drink .

Presentation was lovely as was portion size and taste. I went for haggis neeps and tatties served with a peppercorn sauce. It was wonderful. The staff are very friendly, it's clean and in a great location. There is a large selection of desserts and alongside the old favourites such as sticky toffee pudding ( my choice) I can recommend the berry and kiwi pavlova. As it was a lovely day me and my friends and my 3 month old baby decided to go a run and grab some lunch. We thought from the outside the Waterside looked nice. So opted for there. From walking in and taking a good few minutes we waited to be told to grab a seat. Then after 5 minutes had to request a menu as no one had gave us one. Which it was stated by a waitress "I thought you already had". Clearly there was no menus infront of us. Looking at the menu. My friend requested chips instead of crisps. To which she was told she would pay an extra £2.50. Which is fine if portion sizes are fine.So once food arrived, wait let me get that correct firstly on someone else's table to which they got an apology and then brought to our table. We recieved no apology. From the waitress who seemed new. The panini which was £6.95 was about 6 inches long and that is me being generous, a handle full of crisps and some coleslaw. Heads up to the chef. Homemade coleslaw!! The macaroni and cheese was rather runny and most the cheese was melted on the top. Leaving no taste throughout the Mac. Also, the garlic bread was more herby than a garlic taste. We voiced our opinions to a staff member who didn't feel any need to apologise. So we then asked for a managers name. As she "was not" working....2 minutes later she pops out, not to take any criticism on, nor to apologies. Other than sarcastic apologies. Me and my friends have all worked in hospitality and two of us in management. She then tried to tell me I had served her recently and the way she went onwas as if I had gave her bad service. Frankly, if I did give you bad service I sure as hell would of dealt with it correctly. Unlike the service here. Also, Sorry but I am on maternity leave and have been for like four months. To be honest it was appalling service and the way we were dealt with was embarrassing.

We visited the Waterhouse during the week of 07 July 2014; we were a group of six for lunch. Three of the diners had visited on 2 other occasions in the week and had enjoyed the food. Unfortunately on this visit the guys who had ordered the burgers were lucky to keep their teeth as one bite into them and they realised they had been reheated to within an inch of their lives and were rendered inedilble. The guys brought this to the attention of the staff and the burger meals were duly replaced, Unfortunately this meant that our lunch time dining experience was spoilt by us all eating at different times; the second set of burgers were cooked better. We got the bill and were charged full price and we were surprised that there was no discretionary small discount to acknowledge our inconvenience of eating at separate times. One of the group, who had ordered a burger, asked the bar staff if we could have some discount, the young lady said she would need to see her manager. Within minutes the manager marched over and without even asking what the issue was launched into a verbal tirade about how the burgers had been replaced and the £68 bill was required to be paid. We admit she did get a vociferous response about the food being sub standard quality. However, she was not for listening to her customers and accused us of trying to get a free meal, despite the £68 being sorted out while she was at the table. There was no room for negotiation at all. She accused the member of our party who was arguing the point about the poorly cooked burgers, of being drunk, the guy was drinking irn bru ! She even said there was nothing wrong with the first set of burgers as she had tried them and they were fine ! She also threatened to call in the police, again despite the money being sorted out while she was there and no-one ever threatening to leave without paying or wanting a free meal.Basically she accused us of lying, trying to get free meals and of one of our group being drunk. Her manner was unprofessional, aggressive and the lack of customer care was actually astounding. The sandwiches/paninisi the rest of us had were good but I would not recommend you visit this eaterie and definitely avoid it at all costs if you want to be treated in a professional and caring manner. I've worked within a customer service environment for over 25 years and this is the worst customer service I have ever witnessed/received. If some of the other reviews on here are anything to go by, you better not have anything to complain about as it would seem the manager does not deal with criticism very well at all. I would suggest the manager takes an absolute basic customer service course or even just engages some basic manners in her dealings with the public. Negotiation skills wouldn't go amiss either.

Estávamos em Balloch e foi o primeiro restaurante que optamos. Ambiente agradável, limpo e simpático. O preço tá dentro da média da cidade.

The meal here was exceptional! Me, my mum, dad and gran came here for mother's day and we were not disappointed. The service was fast, polite, professional and the food was lovely! Our meal got cut short and we never even finished our main meal as my gran took ill throughout the meal and all of the staff done everything they could to help us. What we ate of the meal was so delicious, I just wish we'd got to stay for dessert! Will definitely be going back for the full shabam next time.

This place is in the perfect location for Loch Lomond. Walking distance from the lake and the pubs and restaurants in Balloch. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Bed was very comfy, rooms very clean. Would have liked more than one pillow each but obviously that's very minor!!! Good value for money and would stay there again.

On a long journey north we were ready for a good meal. The waterside inn didn't disappoint. The bar is half a mile off the main road in the centre of balloch, with a carpark across the road. The welcome was good and the diner nicely decorated. A good choice on the menu of standard bar food with additional specials and kids menu at fair prices. Quick attentive service from the young friendly barman. The food was well presented and of good quality for both adults and kids. An excellent stop off, the kids had a short play in park next to the car park and we were on our way again. Recommended!

Up for the weekend so we only popped in for a drink before having our takeaway fish and chips. Unfortunately England were in the process of annihilating Scotland at rugby, but in true Scot's style they atmos and charge was still superb. Great mix of ages and groupings. We will return next time we are up.

I had the home made steak pie. However, it must have been frozen, because it was not heated up sufficiently and was cold in the middle. I found their prices a bit more that similar restaurants in the neighbourhood, and the prices of their ales was a bit more than I expected.
