Lovely lunch with my Daughter and grandchildren great place to take kids. Kids eat free during the week during the day

Always a great meal here. Would always recommend here for a local restaurant and a great pint.

I will never go again. We all ordered starters to share, 3 couples, 3 starters. The portions were quite meagre although 2 couples had enough to share. We ordered Bruscetta, it was one small slice of bread! One! When I queried, I said there is only one small slice of bread, to which the waiter said, yes! Now we weren't that hungry or we would have ordered one each, however even at that it would be stingy. £7.25 for a tiny slice of bread with one chopped tomato on it. Outrageous. Just don't go. There is no acceptable excuse for such tiny portions. An absolute rip off.

Really enjoyed my meal, was tasty and full of flavour. My only gripe was that the bruschetta was tiny for £7.25. Took the shine from how good it was. The sizzling cajun chicken was also great but again a little steep at £17. Food was great, but really need to add a second slice of bruschetta to make it worth the money.

Macaroni cheese tasted amazing, and so did the Lentil soup. However the salad with the macaroni was disappointing, since it was a very small portion, and the garlic bread was brilliant tasting, however again it would’ve been nice to have another slice with the dish. Other than that the staff were friendly, and it was decent value for money.

Waited ages for the bill.feel as if we were over charged, But we didn’t question it as we were in a rush to go to a show.Also no prices are not shown on the menu.It’s not put us off.just want to make sure everyone checks their prices.Overall good.

Christmas lunch with a group of friends. Good food, well presented and excellent service. But why no Christmas crackers?

Seating area too compact, service slow (waited 25 mins for drinks, but only after we asked) Food mediocre, 1 dish (cheeseburger) not fit for consumption, and sent back. Staff very lackadaisical. Won't be back

Food nice portions small so not really value for money from that point of view

A bit disappointed with our meal this time round. Been to the mint on a good few occasions and always really enjoyed it but felt our meal was short of the mark. My husband had a starter of the haggis Bon bons. Three tiny miserable pieces at £7.50 seemed overpriced. The chicken pakora was lovely and much better value. Hubbie had the fish and chips which was greasy and all batter and no fish. I opted for the coujons which were ok but nothing looked appealing looking on the plate and just seemed to have gone downhill in portion size and presentation. Wouldn’t rush back unfortunately

Such a great place to have lunch. Have set menu/price for lunch so no surprises. Highly recommend The Mint.

Great place for a family meal and drinks

Good place for eating, been a few times. Would say lunchtime was maybe better than going on a Saturday evening. Food was nice but unfortunately the service wasnt great but maybe just because it was so busy.

Hadnt been to this wee gem for ages. Fantastic experience. Staff were really helpful and nice nothing a bother. Food was brilliant and cocktails amazing. Wont be leaving it too long to go back

My daughters and I had a meal there yesterday. Food was excellent, staff were friendly and efficient. Decor is beautiful and an all round lovely experience. Will definitely be back.

After our first visit to The Mint I knew straight away we would be back, so went back again the following week Absolutely amazing, staff is so down to earth Polite, well dressed and can't do enough to help whe you are there Fast service, prices are fantastic, and food is always well presented on the plates The Mint is immaculate, never seen any sign of any dirt anywhere So can't wait to go back, possibly this coming week. First time at The Mint. Can highly recommend. Attractive venue. Friendly staff. Good service. Reasonable prices. Tasty food. What more can you ask? I had the Beef Daube which was delicious ... with a very generous portion of beef.

Been here quite a few times and usually good.I had beef stroganoff hardly any meat nearly a plate of mushrooms.My brother in law had steak pie which he always eats but left it I tasted it and the meat very tough to chew,maybe just a bad day.

booked a table for 5 of us, menu had a good selection - waiters and watresses all on the ball and provided great service - we had cocktails also and they where all freshly prepared. great food and service - good prices also

Really disappointed. Tiny fish and frozen chips for £14. Quite taken aback by portion snd quality. Not expected or as previously experienced. Went to Mondos following night and night and day difference, high quality and good price.

Loved the food & fabulous staff. It was a quiet time between lunch & dinner.

From the welcome into the restaurant , the service for drinks, and then takinng your order,,first class. Starters came out and were delicious, maybe one we comment on mine was a tad too many chilli's, but was still brilliant. Main course that the wife had, she raved about, tender melt in the mouth beef. Chicken Vinarossa,,fantastic,,compliments to the chef. Table staff were top notch and the final bill, nearly £20 cheaper than a similar competitor. Thanks Guys

Lovely food , staff were really nice and service was good.

Mediocre, potato skins very greasy, lasagne didn't have enough mince/sauce was over powered by garlic and cheese. Nacho starter was nice size enough to share imo. Soup of the day (lentil) was nice enough. Cajun sandwich was over powered with spices. Macaroni was over powering just too much cheese. Parking was pretty bad. Doubt I will return.

Excellent food and excellent service. I’m never disappointed when I go to The Mint.

The overall meal was great. The entree was very disappointing, three wee black pudding balls, one bite and they were gone. Mentioned it to the waiter not interested. While the rest were digging into large plates of nachos and pakora I stared at a empty plate. Terrible starter, never again.

Lovely, modern restaurant with delicious food, friendly staff and great cocktails, ideal for couples/familys and catch up’s with friends.

We booked the function suite for my mums surprise 70th. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We catered for 40 people. Not only was the food amazing but it could easily have fed 50/60 people. It was a brilliant day.

I love this place. I've been a few times with family, and the food is always delicious, and the service is second to none.

We had a reservation for 4 people at 18.00hrs, however we turned up an hour early and without hesitation we were seated immediately. Staff were all lovely and very welcoming. We all had starters and mains and the food was lovely and plentiful. Will most definitely return.

The Mint has always been a favourite place for us to eat,for a number of years.The staff,food and atmosphere are all first class.We had steak pie which was delicious and well presented.Special mention to Gemma who is always very welcoming and friendly.Her customer service skills are outstanding.Our server today was Craig who made our visit very pleasent with his cheerful manner ensuring all was to our satisfaction with our meal.5 stars well deserved.

Celebrity menu 2 courses for £25. Arrived with partner for what we thought would be a lovely dinner only to be disappointed in the quality of food served. Starters were okay, pate and haggis bon bons. Mains were awful and shame on cook for food that should never had left the kitchen. Chicken curry with 4 pieces of chicken and soggy prawn crackers that were obviously not cooked fresh. Gammon roast with soggy roast potatoes and soggy Yorkshire pudding. Asked waiter if he could say to chef regarding food. Said waiter disappeared into kitchen never to be seen again.

I do not know what’s happened to The Mint but it has went downhill in the last few months. It used to be a fantastic place to eat where you could always rely on great food and lovely tasting wine, but not anymore. We went recently and the first thing I noticed was how bad the wine tasted. I asked the waiter when it changed. He said “it’s only the label that’s changed”. I mean, seriously! The food came and it was one bad dish after the next. It never used to be like this so can only assume it’s either changed management or changed chef. It’s terrible.

Everything was amazing. Totally recommend the Steak Pie and the kids Mac nCheese. Staff were so friendly. Brilliant atmosphere.

First time I have been disappointed in the mint food was a bit bland seemed to lack seasoning on the plus side of the 5 meals the cod and chips was excellent the rest of our party said there meals were on the bland side visited The Mint often over the years and it's unusual for the food to be so bland.

Had a great time with my family for my birthday. Food excellent. Great value. Staff are amazing. Brought my birthday cake to the table. I didn’t want a fuss and the waiter kept it casual. Decor so relaxing. Will defo be back. Oh and the lasagne was delicious. Recommend it.

Had Sunday dinner here OMG the food was absolutely awful Firstly I found a bit of plastic in my soup, waitress said the chef said it was a bit of onion !!!! Never had an onion like that before. Steak pie had the weirdest taste ever , potatoes and the vegetables had absolutely no taste at all. Would not recommend this place at all , please don’t waste your money.

The service was very good, however, on this occasion the standard of the food was very poor... The portions were smaller than usual, not as hot as it should have been and very bland..... I was very disappointed loop

Food tastes great and service is always top notch. I know when I come here for dinner it will never disappoint. The only thing that let's it down is convenient parking. If the street outside the restaurant is full, the nearest is on a street up the top of the road, but still just a 2 minute walk away.

The food here is so good. Been a couple of times recently and prior to that, hadn't been for over 20 years (I think). I suggested here for my nephews 18th. We were seated in a wee private area, which was fantastic. Staff were great and even provided candles for the birthday cake (as forgot to bring). The only negative; not sure if being tucked away staff were slightly less attentive; had to be reminded about drink ordered for toddler and had to seek out staff member to order more drinks. But other than that, no complaints and definitely be back for more delicious food. 😋

I went on my Birthday in late December with my mum. The food was really good, reasonably priced and the service was great. Prompt, professional, respectful, welcoming. I’ll defi itely go back.

We used the function suite upstairs. Good size and the bar staff were super patient. We had quite a few kids running around causing chaos and no doubt headaches for the staff but they were excellent.

Went for a nice meal and god a Christmas dinner off the festive menu. Was a nice meal which I really enjoyed. The staff were very friendly and the place is clean, was decorated nice for Christmas and had a good atmosphere about it. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Walked in for table for one food was amazing but felt rushed within 3 mins of ordering my starter and main my soup was on my table. And as soon as id finished it. my main meal was there. Both amazing but felt more like it was an eat up and leave. But do recommend the food.

Work night out! Most of us drinking pints, I ordered whiskey and coke on a small glass eventually I was given Bacardi and coke in tall glass not what I ordered waiters English was hard to understand waitress appeared… by this time company we’re ordering their 2nd pint, asked what I wanted told her whiskey and coke … 10 mins later I was asked what whiskey I wanted this went on and on eventually I ordered vodka and coke. Nachos arrived which I’ve had many times.. I like jalapeño s the sauce was so hot I couldn’t eat it I tried eating the cheese underneath but I’d mixed the sauce not realising the heat… my friend was the same not asked why it was left not up to scratch very disappointed

Great food. Very slow service. Perfect if you have lots of time and like a break between courses it's fine. Plenty of staff on shift but all had their backs to the customers and chatting at the bar. We ended up not having a coffee because we had to leave.

Below average food and service starters came 10 minutes apart then main course(fish) was swimming in fat.

Always spotless and really nice staff and food. I've never been disappointed with any meal I've had.

My friend and I had dinner in The Mint restaurant on Thursday. The food was absolutely fantastic. Lovely atmosphere and great staff. I have an allergy to fish. I explained this to the staff member. He assured me that my food would be prepared in a fish free area of the kitchen. If you go the ice cream is a must! 🍨

We didn't book just walked in on chance very busy but they squeezed us in service was great food was brilliant will definitely be in again Well done all 2 weeks later we decide to go out for dinner so booked the mint we booked for 4 people unfortunately due to illness only 2 could dine we arrived around 17.55 for 18.00 booking had our meal which was fine 55 mins into our night waitress arrives with the bill you need to pay we need the table back there is a limit on how long you get to eat now if that's the rules then they should let you know this before you agree to dine and pay Strange thing was tables who were there before us were still siting my wife and I both had steaks plus sweet couple of drinks didn't get time to have coffee happy to pay but will be our last very disappointed

Absolutely loved this wee hidden gem! We asked for recommendations after a day out at Time Capsule and this place was described as a pub - it is so much more than that. Beautiful inside, staff were so so lovely and the food was amazing. Our fussy nearly 6 year old even ordered a second serving of the kids pasta. We WILL be back!

It's not the first time here ,but it's the first time I've left disappointed .Both my wife and i ordered steak pie for the main course, and i must admit it wasn't very nice .Considering they sold the large steak pies to the public during the festive months, i was looking forward to my meal .It was average, to say the least. i was expecting better and would think twice about ordering it again .
