Outstanding friendly service, impressive menu wide array of food choices fir very taste bud a restaurant with 3 soup choices served with hot rolls 👏...the Roast beef dinner was a pure treat asked for gravy on the side loved the idea of cauliflower in side dish..took me a while to get there but definitely be back ...well done..

Popped in for a catch-up with my neice. Staff is very friendly and the place is very clean. Prices are reasonable. I like how the menu is marked in colour dots for gluten-free. Much appreciated as its hard to navigate otherwise, but they have a separate menu on request if required for easy reading.

Great place for a few beers as long as there is someone watching the bar, hence the low service level. But that doesn't mean im unhappy with everything. Haven't tried the food yet but seems a great favourite for the locals. With a quiz on a Monday night. And All the footie on tap as well so all in all a good place to be.

Lovely food fast service friendly staff

I was searching for a local bar/restaurant to feed my bunch. I came up trumps. We found the best in the area. Great food, drink really reasonable price and best of all was the service 👌

As always the meal was well served and piping hot. The service was gr8 and they couldn't help us enough. We will be back in a few weeks time. Yes we did go back with three of my family. They said that they really enjoyed their meal as we'll. Maybe the rest of the family will come back the next time. Well we did go back this time was the wife and myself. As I said about the service and hot food was gr8. We both had small fish and chips it was just the right size of fish and chips for the both of us and the price was just right. The next time I think it might be a chicken curry. Naw we both had fish and chips again you can't fail that it was just as gr8 as before

Myself and my husband goes to the rolling Barrell alot and today will be the last as the last few times it's been very disappointing the staff not been helpful asking for something and waiting 10 2 15 minutes on it my husband ordered soup and a gammon steak and it was tiny also I got a steak pie which was heated up in microwave and what we paid was not worth it

Great wee cheeky late dinner ,steak pie was brilliant,lentil soup was lovely,even daughter Emily finished her Chicken burger ,lassie that served us was helpful,and courteous Love this wee place in View park ❤️

Been to the Barrel a few times ,never been disappointed,staff always friendly,food is always above par ,and to be honest,I eat in Glasgow a lot and this wee place puts some restaurants to shame ,just nice ,plain , unpretentious Going tonight 😄

Food was alright. Though the wait was far too long. Waited too long and I wasn't very hungry when I got it. Around 1 hour- 1 hr 30 minute wait. Not too worth the wait.

Went for birthday celebration Service shocking .For four of us we waited almost an hour for main meal while almost everyone else within our group had eaten.No apology offered.Will not be back

A wee hidden gem lovely decor we've passed it so many times and finally paid it a visit , the staff were lovely Amanda served us , the food was lovely hubby said steak pie was better than other places he's had it , I had red Thai curry it tasted lovely even though the sauce was slightly thinner than expected , there was a good balance of chicken , peppers & onions , the rice was perfect and the prawn crackers so light, well most definitely be back . Many Thanks 😊

I have been to the rolling barrel many times and have had Highland fling for dinner with sauce separate .They have now decided you cannot have it separate. I will not be back

Lighting was very low making it difficult to read menu

Pub grub, good value & portions. Visit often. Steak pie, lasagne and burgers are a highlight. Sometimes music on in background other times not. Good availability for walk ins. Special offer on 2 meals Mon - thur. says open till 8 I would get there for 7 as they are packing up to be out the door for 8 of you follow.

My daughter and went in for lunch and were met with a friendly host who guided us to our table. Ordered a drink and there was a very good selection on the menu, we both had the wraps, one sweet chilli and the other peppered chicken which came warm and well presented along with chips and a nice salad. Would highly recommend if in the area, you won’t be disappointed.

Food and service wasn't what we expected. We waited over 45 mins for a main meal (no starters). The food came and the chicken wasn't as advertised (breast) and the kids chicken nuggets could have made a hole in the floor. (Rock hard) no apologies for the wait. People who came in after us were served before us. Was really disappointed.

Visited The Rolling Barrel with my elderly gran a couple of weeks ago on a Friday late afternoon and had a nice lunch. The Cajun Chicken pasta was very balanced and the portion size was just right.

I was there with a friend. One of the best steak pie I 've ever had. Cakes very good as well and fair prices.

I was part of a large party of ladies..approx 30 The staff greeted each member individually, checked their meal requirements, offered a refreshment while food was prepared Meals arrived within an expected period of time and pleasant staff ensured everyone was happy with the service. The tables and ambiance of the establishment were of a high stand Cost was pleasantly affordable Certainly a venue to be placed on...need to return

Myself partner went in today haggis starter was lovly then waited 40 in the freezing cold along with most of the other customers all having to were jackets mains was a plain steak that came eventually covered in pepper corns sent it back waitress was great ordered me an other one to bring home dont know if it's the oil its bn looked in but was un edible the wifes hickory chicken was lovly shame about the wait

I've been here a few times, decided to go for lunch with my partner,got a warm welcome and although I hadn't booked ,got a nice table,the lady looking after us was friendly and professional,steak pie was delicious my partner had a wrap and said it was great , lovely wee lunch for under £30 ,will be back soon 🙏🙏

Lovely wee restaurant/bar food is lovely. Also has a kids menu. Staff are lovely as well. Would definitely recommend the Lentil Soup.

Asked to get my sauce separately rather than being poured over my crispy haggis fritters to be told no we can't do that so asked for it on the side of my plate so that it would not make my fritter soggy one answer NO

Was disappointed as ordered Poached Salmon stating served with vegetables, cream sauce and boiled potatoes - it came out swimming in sauce, the vegetables were dried peas only and we got 4 marble sized potatoes - the only good thing was it was piping hot.

Been a few times.. friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, great food. We got 2 meals for £14 during week. Reasonable prices. Great background music nice volume level to hear ur conversations. Will be back again. Greatx

We took a family member for a birthday lunch here today. It was wheelchair accessible and the food was good and the staff very friendly and attentive. We were just about to leave when they brought granny a big slice of cheesecake and ice cream with a candle and sung happy birthday. We would definitely come here again well done everyone.

Love going to the barrel plus food is amazing steak pie and chilli basket are our favourite. Wee Maggie and Fiona are so nice always make time to ask if you enjoying you're food .

One of my favourite places to eat, I love coming in and seeing Fiona is working she is always happy to help and so accommodating and the food is the best

I reviewed the Rolling Barrel in 2018 & in between then & now there has been all sorts of pressures on the hospitality industry, but in my view, this place has risen above the problems that have presented themselves over the Covid era & still rolls onward as one off the best eating establishments in the area, mainly thanks to the quality of the food on offer from their wide choice of meals on the menu and the dedication of the waiting staff & the guys working behind the scenes in the kitchen. Thanks to the owner (Angelo) who has managed to retain much of his hard-working staff over this period, such as Fiona at front of house & Maggie in the kitchen. If, on occasion, you have to wait a bit longer than normal to be served your meal, then that will be due to the fact the restaurant is very busy with customers, which is testament to its popularity as a great eating place.

This is an outstanding restaurant. We come here regularly and have tried many items from their varied menu and have never been disappointed. The staff are helpful and extremely professional adding to friendly environment. A must try if you haven't already.

Will never be back had starter then waited 1 hour for main in the mean time spent £20 on drinks waiting on food to be told some of the food was getting prepared to wait another 10 minutes to be asked what had ordered asked for refund not a good experience sorry

Absolutely great, went her for lunch with wife and 2 kids while carpet shopping. Great menu, lovely service, tasted great. The Sunday roast deal looks amazing. Fair choice of beers on tap. A little gem of an independent pub. From Cumbernauld, would travel here to go again. Had the Highland started for followed by halloumi salad. Thanks again

I have visited here on numerous occasions recently. Outstanding staff, service, ambiance and food. Really, what's not to like. Selection on menu is excellent too and, as a gluten free individual, good selection also.

My family and I love the rolling barrel its local and food is usually fantastic and price is very competitive. I was here in the last 2 weeks and had chicken fajitas unfortunately after one bite I could not eat the chicken as it was really hard and chewy I couldn't chew it texture was all wrong. Heard there's a new chef here not sure about truth in that. Barrel staff kindly took my drinks off my bill as an apology for chicken. We will be back tho these things somtimes happen

This place used to be really good, but is now awful. Poor, slow service and the food is even worse. Sorry to have wasted two hours here with my family on a Saturday afternoon (and that’s us not even finishing our meal). This review is based on not only a terrible recent visit, but also on a few poor visits prior to this. Prices have increased substantially, but service and food quality is extremely poor. Don’t waste your time or your money.

Rude owner. Was there with my girlfriend and friend. Asked to the server, who was likely the owner, if we could split the bill in two. I said "I'm sorry mate I don't want to be one of those people" to which I was given the smarky response "Too late you are." Legit didn't know if this was meant as humour but the more I consider it - he was just lazy and didnt want to do the simplist of requests. Know its easier for a server to put through something in full - I've been there in other jobs... Still, pretty common and fair request and it was split two ways hardly asking to split it 10. I don't live in Uddingston now, but make the trip down now and again cause the food is nice and have friends nearby. Saying that , I'll not be back after being spoken to like that... Edit* Your response to feedback shows to me that your establishment is far from polite. Firstly, rude service deserves a bad review. Your server did not say it with a smile or in a joke fashion, he said it with a condescending and quite bitter tone. I was clearly quite shocked and mentioned it to my friend within ear shot of the server who made no effort to clarify this was an attempt at humour. Further more you could have served me the best meal of my life, if you talk to me like dirt and me feel horrible afterwards - your getting one star. I did not, raise it in person as you advice, because the tone of your server was so rancid, it was quite clear if I did complain it would have escalated unnecessary. This would have clearly led to a situation that would not be best in a room full of old people and children eating dinner. I'll "rush off" and leave you the low rating you deserve rather than hang around any further than is necessary. Accept criticism from customers instead of arguing back - like I said, if I did complain in person it would not have been resolved, like it was not resolved here. Legit all you needed to say is that you spoke to the waiter, it was meant in jest and apologise it was taken the wrong way. (Even though like I said it was not said in a "funny" manner). Instead you go on a tirade about how you don't deserve criticism. Also did not leave a tip - service hardly warranted it.
