The best restaurants serving British food in Edinburgh and Lothian

Visited on a Sunday night around 7:30pm place wasn’t particularly busy however the tables remained uncleared The food when it arrived was warm but nothing nothing outstanding delivered to table by a staff member who was very short when told there was no salt and pepper left at the condiments station use the other one then was reply Drinks were ok too Several drunks milling about who shouldn’t been served further drinks but they did Would we return unfortunately this is one Witherspoon’s I won’t return too

I decided to have dinner at the hotel because I arrived tired and it was a pleasant surprise! I was very well attended to and the food was excellent, at a very good price! I had a starter of breaded mushrooms that were perfectly cooked and a main course of a steak cooked perfectly with peas and fries also perfectly cooked. There are good options of beer, draft beer and wine. Excellent service and cuisine!

a quaint little cafe attached to a lovely, though expensive, gift shop. The food is very good and always made freshly once ordered. It's a tad pricey but no different tio the average decent cafe these days.

We always get a great meal and excellent service at the Lauriston Farm. My meat has to be really well cooked and that's never a problem. The staff are brilliant. We love to be seated where Nicola is working. Nothing is too much trouble. She's an absolute star.

Friendly staff, I was only one in shop so should have noticed the alarm bells as there was no demand for food !!! Our dogs wouldn't eat it enough said !!

Ordered ice cream on delivery, really good, the raspberry ripple is brilliant

Were there in mid-November, there was no one there except for us - it probably went very quickly for us contrary to the other reviews. The service was super nice and otherwise it's a nice location. The food was simple but tasty, there was nothing wrong with it. We would come again.

Visitamos el domingo por la noche, no necesita reservar, era bastante tranquilo. Informado de las ofertas especiales, buena selección de comida en el menú menú infantil. Pan de Ajo para los niños, pedimos salchichas con puré de patatas y hamburguesa y n fichas del menú de niños, la gran hamburguesa/patatas fritas, el jalapeño queso se derrita y el pollo fajita hamburguesa, pinta de cerveza fría, vino de la casa de cristal y refrescos para los niños. Y Chic brownie tarta fudge y helado para el postre.

Great pizza, delicious biryani, and all the food was excellent! The staff at Chippy Junction were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Fácil de reservar y un montón de aparcamiento gratuito (poner su registro en su sistema). Cálida bienvenida y se muestra directamente a nuestra mesa reservada. Nos dijeron cómo funciona todo y luego nos dejaron leer los menús. Pedido en el bar y la comida llegó con 15 minutos. La hamburguesa estaba bien, no hay nada especial, pero esto me parece que se refleja en sus precios súper justos.

So disappointing at the lack of provision for gluten free. I come here on a very regular basis, I have a club plus membership and like to use my free coffee vouchers and will often have breakfast or lunch with friends. My daughter is coeliac, and I can honestly say in the last year since she was diagnosed I have had to choose other garden centres for coffee lunches. I have just come back today hoping for some thing better - absolutely nothing other than a carrot cake. Come on dobbies, this is 2025. You need to do better!!!

Service was literally not existing. Food cane very late even though the restaurant was not very busy. Last time we visited. We have been regular customers over the past 10 years but service is at its all time low.

Awful.no vegan or vegetarian food.apparently ran out.no hot water.ran out of cups.tables dirty with most tables still having previous diners plates.staff dour faced and not interested.
