Nipped in for a pint but regulars were friendly , staff were excellent and beer was nice so stayed lot longer then expected. Food coming out looked better then an average witherspoon

Food choice is from the menu. Service isn't, it is swift and pleasant, even when busy and that is often. Staff are excellent. Food is to a good standard and when have had issues they have been dealt with promptly

I would like to share our experience, Which wasn’t great unfortunately. Order traditional breakfast ! Staff member bring our food and it was ok until i take toast and under was half hash brown looks like left overs. Shocked. Ask manager why is that the answer was cook in fryer this how it is and the she told to me don t talk to me like that so rude and not polite at all. Lady manager told she will bring 1 new hash brow but I requested to replace full plate with new breakfast in plate this was refused by duty manager lucky get money refund. Lady in duty manager position should know better how to deal in situation like that.

This is the 4 Wetherspoon I have been in and they are all the same you get look warm food. We won’t be back. The place was jammed with tables I was lucky to get passed.

I have just stood at the bar, which was by no means busy, for 10 to 15 minutes. The young girl serving was going as fast as she probably could. She then served 3 customers who had arrived after me. As I left I spoke to the duty manager, explaining my displeasure of their service, who shrugged her shoulders, turned away and made a half hearted apology. This used to be one of the best pubs in Livingston, JD Wetherspoons get this place sorted or you will loose more than my custom.

Rubbish food for fish and chips handed it back and they told me they can’t make me another fish as to try it before eatting it the rest off my plate I will be taking this follrther to the paper spending all this money on food and can’t even eat it

Been going hear for years and love it sadly lost the 3 of us as a customer they have taken the mixed grill off the menu we always get that

Busy Saturday lunchtime so staff were doing as well as they could. However the food wasn't great, none of it was particularly hot despite the plates being roasting, the chips could have done with a few minutes longer in the pan and the sausages were average with not much flavour. The best bit was the black pudding!

Ordered 3 pitchers, there was apparently no ice. We were not asked if we still wanted them or not just dumped on the table. No offer of a discount or refund. Pretty poor service.

I am here often, whenever I have been shopping in Livingston. Many people look down on Spoons, but it does what it says on the tin. It is cheap and d cheerful. Spoons can have poor service sometime, but this is one of the better ones. Service is usually fine, though sometimes app orders are prioritised over the bar, but once fixed, they catch up soon. The service in this Spoons is definitely one of the better ones, and the staff are always polite and friendly. Food is nothing special, but decent enough. The steaks are good value, compared to eateries round the area. The food special, but does the job. Yes, a lot of it is partially pre-prepared, but that is the case in most chain restaurants, and many others too. Here is where this one has let itself down though, and it is a recent event. It was closed for a few days for re flooring. And it reopened there had also been a reorganisation. Now there are too many tables and chairs. They are crammed together, so there is little to no personal space. The waiting staff down well to navigate through the maze of tables and narrow gaps. Sadly, it also means, if you are in a wheelchair or have limited mobility, it will now be a real struggle for you. Before it was not always straightforward, but was manageable, as there were still a few accessible tables. I am not sure this is the case now. If you have a pushchair, especially given their size now, it will also be a real struggle.

Excellent pub,food and drinks. Very quick service and most unusual in a Spoons pub you can see the food being cooked in the open kitchen.

Currie chicken is not it is chicken with something that is supposed to be currie sauce poured over it ,chicken should be cooked in the sauce,everything was cold, steak and kidney pudding was more of a pie it actually had a crust again everything was cold definitely not up to the standards of other wetherspoons pubs we have eaten in previously

We had a great meal in the Newyearfield I had a notion for a bar grill but its been off the menu for a while now so I had the fish with chips and it was as good as any other restaurants I've eaten in but the price makes this an easy choice where we would rather eat out and the beer prices they can't be beaten. Top restaurant, top food and top service. We would highly recommend JD Wetherspoons for a good meal and the breakfast is tops.

Had to walk out as no vegan food options for small grandson with dairy allergy. Long story short - was told the bread in the vegan options also contains milk. So, not actually vegan then........

place is absolutely minging, waiters disrespectul as anything! everyone looks absolutely miserable and had a very smart mouth with me and my friend for no reason. place is a mess leaving empty plates and empty glasses everywhere not bothering to pick them up.

Very disappointing 😞..I used to visit and get a lovely big oval plate FULL of decently cooked food but this is my 1st visit in a while for a meal and boy, we're we disappointed. Both meals were well overcooked - fish and chips and the other meal was a southern fried chicken wrap and chips..the chips were overcooked as well as the chicken from the wrap? The fish took the biscuit though, it was cooked within an inch of its life and there was hardly any fish left in the "batter" which was solid. It qas really shocking - there was a couple in front if us who sent theres back and got a whole new meal straight away but due to us having TRIED to eat it, i didnt think they would have done that for us.. We were taken aback and in shock at the state pf it but I wish I'd asked for our money back. They put us in a position and we ended up losing out but, it just means we will never go there again. Which is sad as I used to like it but, not if that's what food they are putting out. I'd actually appreciate if someone got in touch with me from the shop and offered us another meal - esp due 2 To the fact that we spent a fortune, besides the food, on alcohol, as I think we were hoping that would make the food less horrible..

Service is non existent in this place! Waiters walking past tables full of empty glasses and plates, not picking them up, everyone looks absolutely miserable. Security look like they were ordered of wish. I know spoons is cheap and cheerful, but this one is only cheap, in every way possible! What a disgrace! Food is what you expect from a place like this!

Popped in here for a refreshment whilst shopping at the centre. Was very busy and good atmosphere. Didn't order food but had a great selection of drinks Gin and Beer 🍺

Lovely "spoons" on the retail park. Clean, no tables full of used plates and glasses!! Very close to Livingston FC stadium. The Doom Bar real ale was in great condition. I'd recommend and visit again!! 🍻

I met up with friends for dinner. We ordered through the app, and the service was good. The waitress was lovely and very pleasant and friendly. That's when it took a turn. We had to send an onion bhaji back as it was cremated. The next one wasn't much better. My friend and I had the chicken tikka masala. It was nice enough but it was not very warm. We know it's not gourmet food, but it could at least be hot. I think I'll just stick to drinking in the place. Good staff

Was sitting next to kitchen, watching while food lay on server for some time, maybe waiting on all of one order, but evertime were seved great produce all food fresh and tasty but always cold and hard eggs we're are the runny eggs sad but wont be back I'm paying for hot want at least warm

wont be back, my son has autism and we always carry his lunch with us, as he cant eat anything from the menu, this has never been a problem any time and i always say this to the waitress which i did and she was fine as always, well 3 times a different waitress came up to us telling us to take my sons food away 3 times i told them to go back to the manager and explain, we were a family 0f 6 so paid quite a bit for our meal, the head office was useless and pasted an email back to me from their terms it seems, def wont be back is it worth it for microwaved food and watered down drinks? keep it maybe its time you rethought that out of date policy

Not my choice but only show in town. Bar serving staff worked smartly and grafted. Table clearing and cleaning could improve. Prices decent.

Update: this place and food has gone downhill and is no longer a place we want to visit, the last time we tried it for mother's day, the food was awful. It was sent back because It was cold and it was just heated back up and overcooked and dripping in oil so was sent back again,we got a refund for the food, but we had to pay for our drinks even though we had ultimately given them 3 chances to get the meal edible and spent 40mins for them to get the meal right. Service from staff was first class, the food was lovely, even when they were really busy. We will definatley call in next time we are in the area. We'll done xxx

The food was cold . The Mac & cheese looked like it had come out of a box . The only thing that was hot was the chips . I had a baked potato and I can't find the words . If it hadn't been for the lady that helped us with our drinks and gave us our meals when she did come back she couldn't, say sorry enough .

Weatherspoon is what it is, but the staff are fantastic well done always good value for the money.

I popped in for a beer whilst my wife was shopping. They have 5 real ale cask beer pumps, and I asked for a pint of Dark Island, to be told that's just gone off. Ok I'll have a pint of Shinnanigans, sorry that's off too. Ok, a pint of 80shillings please......sorry that's off as well. Ok, pissed off now, but they have the staple of Duchars, guess what, that's just gone off too. Left with Abbott's, the worse of the lot, and at £2:99 a pint, I'd rather go to Starbucks. Mr Martin made his legacy by bringing cask ales to his customers, this pub, once again are trying to tuin the name.

I have been coming here for years and have to say this visit was abominable. There was no food in stock even though I changed it 3 time for staff. Then they brought wrong meal. When I returned it my meal was cold. Also a pub with No ice was disgraceful. Totally a waste of my money on this visit.

All was good till I went to the gents toilet, the smell of urine was overpowering and sickening.

I've never had a good meal here and stopped going for a while. Decided to try it for breakfast and was disappointed yet again. The food was barely luke warm. When asked if everything was OK we didn't even get to answer before waitress was on to the next table. Lovely member of staff, collecting dishes, was very apologetic. I won't be back though. I'll stick to Fife. Kirkcaldy is excellent, I've never had a bad meal there 🤷‍♀️
