I decided to have dinner at the hotel because I arrived tired and it was a pleasant surprise! I was very well attended to and the food was excellent, at a very good price! I had a starter of breaded mushrooms that were perfect and a main course of a steak that was perfectly cooked with peas and fries that were also perfectly cooked. There are good options for beer, beer and wine. Excellent service and cuisine!

Poor breakfast. Coffee was good but fruit salad boring. Over baked sausages with tough as old boots skin. Eggs were all fried an hour or so ago.

The food was closer to what I would expect in a school cafeteria than a restaurant.

I had to send my dish back as pasta was hard. My partner had fish and it was good but nothing special.

Avoid adding steak to your the hoisin noodles. Four ounces of inedible gristle.

The food was good, however they never have any salads. Our table was booked for 8:00pm and we finished our main course at around 8:40pm. The three waiters were standing and chatting until about 8:55 when one of them finally cleared our plates. We waited for the dessert menu but it never came then we found out the restaurant closed at 9:00pm.

Poor service ordering food to take to your room. Waited ages to order after the waiter disappeared and forgot about us. We then waited ages for overcooked food and they forgot one of the sides. Staff were very unorganised and didn’t make it clear about payment either. Would be a lot easier if you could just order food direct to the room instead of waiting around in the bar.

This bar/restaurant combination is located inside the Premier Inn hotel. Modern interior, full bar, menu with lots of options for both meat lovers and vegetarians. It offers burgers, steaks, salads, and dishes with an Asian twist. We had the Oyster Mushroom Salad, which was fresh and flavorful with a side of Sweet Potato Fries, and the Sweet Potato/Spinach/Feta Lasagna. My dessert, vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce was surprisingly below average. It came very cold, but even after letting it warm up a bit, there was little vanilla flavor, and the chocolate sauce was not memorable at all. That was a pity, because the other dishes were good. Service was a bit slow and unexperienced, but friendly.

Had dinner here whilst staying at the Premier Inn. Good choice menu and reasonable prices. It’s worth paying the meal deal if you want breakfast too.

Helpful, friendly service by Graeme and his colleagues. I had the sea bass en papillote, and with the meal deal which includes the breakfast represents real value for money!

Very nice food. They make amazing breakfast, and we have also eaten here for dinner. Great for vegetarians and gluten free options as well. Highly recommended.

We had recalled many good meals at Thyme restaurants attached to Premier Inns and decided to try the East Market Street, Edinburgh one out.Menu has been reduced significantly. The service was good, as was the decour and atmosphere. Food was fine, although I took a burger as I didn’t see anything on the menu I liked. We also ordered two Proseccos, which came in two small bottles. They were awful and the worst Preseccos we had tasted (Galantine Prosecco Doc). They were flat and didn’t taste like Procecco at all. We mentioned this to the server but she said that was all they had. I wondered later if they had been out of date. Not rushing back,

Just awful and pretentious. They abuse their staff by giving them no cafeteria they just rest on the tiny stairs. I have autism and did my best on a trial run but the "guy" in charge didn't give me a chance. I hear he has a bad reputation though

I almost never leave reviews, but I felt I had to because I felt so ripped off here. I'm a local and had time to kill before work so I popped in for lunch. The staff were friendly and the service was quick, but I got the smallest piece of avocado toast I've ever seen for a tenner. I'm still hungry. I sort of knew it would be a mistake to go somewhere touristy but now I know I definitely won't be back. There are nicer places on Cockburn Street, never mind the rest of the Old Town.

Chaos since table-service disappeared, and massively over-priced. Notices boast of sandwich ingredients grown in the garden, yet the very ordinary sandwiches cost £8.50 each. A simple dish of hummus - a laughable £12.50. The queue bottle-necks from the start at the cold-counter with no visibility of the hot-counter. There is a curious gap between the hot counter and coffee/cakes counter, where customers struggle to balance trays of food, or watch others rightly skip the queue via the gap because they only want coffee/cakes. The toilets are airless, disgusting and too limited for the number of diners.
